Jimmy Carter x Kamala Harris

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter may be living on borrowed time at 99 years old; however, he has big plans for making it to 100 and voting for Kamala Harris.

According to People, Carter’s son reports that the almost centenarian has his sights set on exercising his right to vote, one last time, and casting a ballot for Vice President Kamala Harris. Carter has been in hospice care for over a year. However, his loved ones say he’s been “more alert and interested in politics and the war in Gaza” in recent days.

“I’m only trying to make it to vote for Kamala Harris,” he said, according to his son, Chip Carter.

Though the election is over a month past what will be his 100th birthday, the 39th U.S. president would be able to cast his ballot early in his current state of Georgia. His vote would still count even in the event of his death.

In terms of making Carter’s dying wish come true, the latest news confirming Harris as the Democratic Party’s nominee for president is a good sign. Earlier this year, Carter’s grandson Jason said the former politician was “no longer awake every day.”

Before his health began to rapidly decline, Carter didn’t try to hide his disdain for former President Donald Trump.

“I think it’s well-known that the incumbent [President Trump] is very careless with the truth,” Jimmy told CBS News in a 2018 interview. “I think I went through my campaign and my presidency without ever lying to the people or making a deliberately false statement, and I think that would be a very worthwhile thing to reinsert into politics these days.”

He continued,

“I think he’s a disaster … In human rights and in treating people equal.”

Carter’s storied history in politics has garnered him praise and respect from politicians in both parties. As president, he appointed the first Black woman to the U.S. Cabinet in Patricia Roberts Harris, who served as Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in the late 1970s. He also stood on the frontlines for equality in both race and gender.

The political event of the year is coming, and it’s set to be a showdown for the ages… but like most things associated with the former president, there’s a catch. Donald Trump reluctantly relented about debating Kamala Harris but only hosted by Fox News and on another date of his Cheeto choosing.

This surprise move is coming right after Harris secured enough votes to become the Democratic candidate for the upcoming Presidential election.

As we wait for Harris to choose a running mate, we can look forward to a Black woman taking center stage in a presidential debate!

Trump Drops The Bombshell On Truth Social

In a late-night post on Truth Social, Trump made the announcement that had everyone talking.

“I have agreed with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th,” Trump declared. “The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant.”

That’s right, folks! The debate with Joe Biden was called off, and now Harris is stepping into the ring.

The event will be held in the “Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” though the exact location is still under wraps. One thing is for sure, it’ll definitely be a “FULL ARENA AUDIENCE.”

Trump’s Waffling Finally Ends

Trump’s decision to debate Harris didn’t come easy. After President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, leaving Harris as the presumptive Democratic nominee, Trump played coy about whether he’d take on Harris. Shoot, even JD Vance was against battling Harris when she was VP.

But now, Trump is all in, and the stage is set.

In a recent Fox News interview, Trump teased his intentions, saying, “I want to do a debate. But I also can say this. Everybody knows who I am. And now people know who she is.”

Right… As BOSSIP previously reported, Trump showed who he is at his recent appearance with the National Association of Black Journalists where he accused Harris of “just now becoming Black.”

To sum up his behavior, Trump disrespected the Black Women moderators on the NABJ stage. Not surprising, right?

Imagine this upcoming Presidential Debate…

Harris Throws Down The Gauntlet

Vice President Kamala Harris isn’t one to back down from a challenge. At a fiery rally in Atlanta, Georgia, she called Trump out, demanding he make good on his promise to debate.

Harris has been gearing up for this moment, and she’s ready to take Trump on in what promises to be a no-holds-barred face-off.

The Battle Of The Moderators

The debate will be in the capable hands of Fox News veterans Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum—per Trump’s request.

Trump stated that the rules would be similar to his previous debates, ensuring a familiar format. Considering how Trump and Biden’s previous debate, let’s hope the moderators continue to ask challenging questions—with ACTUAL REAL TIME FACT CHECKING.

The Democratic Party previously requested CNN, so this ask makes sense. We can only hope for professionalism.

Ads, Ads, and More Ads!

Both Trump and Harris have launched massive ad campaigns in the lead-up to the debate. According to ABC News, Harris is hitting the airwaves hard with a $50 million three-week ad blitz ahead of the Democratic National Convention.

ABC states that Trump has reserved $12 million worth of airtime in key battleground states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin. The ad war is in full swing, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Prepare your television screens to be flooded.

Mark Your Calendars! (For September, That Is)

Details are still to come as Trump sets the debate for September 4th and Harris agrees to September 10th—the countdown is on.

This is one political event you won’t want to miss. BOSSIP will keep updates as we find out more.

Donald Trump’s ill-conceived appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Wednesday was almost universally viewed as a complete disaster by everyone who doesn’t lay awake at night wishing they were wearing Trump’s hind parts as a noseguard. (I’m looking at you, Tim Scott.)

There are a lot of reasons the scheduled Q&A session didn’t go well for anyone involved. Obviously, it was foolhardy to even expect that a productive discussion would be the result of an interview with someone who, in virtually every interview he has ever done, has proven that all he does is repeat easily disprovable lies, insult everyone he doesn’t like and throw temper tantrums the second he gets hit with any question he doesn’t want to answer. But there is another glaring reason Trump’s NABJ appearance was doomed from the start:

Trump doesn’t actually know anything about Black people.

On Thursday, Trump doubled down on his false claims that presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris hid her Black identity and only ever identified as Indian in the past—and he had the Tang-flavored caucasity to do so under the guise of celebrating Harris for her love of her “Indian heritage.”

“Your warmth, friendship, and love of your Indian Heritage are very much appreciated,” Trump posted to his Truth Social platform along with an old photo of Harris with her family.

It’s unclear if Trump is trying to clean up his NABJ performancewhich he would certainly be embarrassed by if he were capable of shame—or if he is just out here proving he’s a 78-year-old manchild by continuing to gaslight Harris, who responded to Trump’s original comments regarding her racial identity by calling it Trump’s “same old show” of “divisiveness.”

But it’s about more than just “divisiveness,” it’s an indication of why the division between Trump and “the Blacks” was already there.

Again, Trump doesn’t know us.

Here’s what I wrote about this previously:

He really thought he’d run the same talking points in front of NABJ’s audience that he does in front of his MAGA cult audiences.

He thought it would go over well with Black people when he whitesplained that Kamala Harris isn’t really Black, saying, “I didn’t know she was Black,” and that “she happened to turn Black” before he asked, “Is she Indian or is she Black?” If Trump actually knew Black people, he would have known how far out of his Caucasian lane he was by even questioning Harris’ Blackness at all.

Trump also thought calling Harris a “DEI” hire was going to go over as well with us as it does his caucasity-indoctrinated constituency of loud and proud racists as if Black people haven’t been clocking “DEI hire” as white people’s new version of the N-word.

He also didn’t know anything about the case of Sonya Massey, which Black media has covered extensively.

He thought it would go over well with Black people when he insisted that Jan. 6 convicts were victims of “two systems of justice.”

He thought he could run that stale and ahistorical line about how he was “the best president for the Black population since Abraham Lincoln,” proving he knows nothing about Lincoln outside of the fact that the slaves were freed on his watch–and because of their own determination, not the 16th President’s.

https://twitter.com/NewsNation/status/1818715457144168713

After NABJ panelist Rachel Scott offended Trump by*checks notes*—asking him about the words that had come out of his own mouth, Trump responded by whining about how “nasty” the question was and then he pivoted to what was essentially a Miss Millie “I’ve always been good to you people” rant. Trump defaulted to that narrative because he doesn’t know enough about Black people to understand that white savior complexes aren’t really a thing most of us find attractive.

Trump was deeply offended by Scott asking him about his history of racial antagonism, but he wasn’t so offended that he didn’t take to social media the very next day so he could continue being racially antagonistic.

Meanwhile, Trump’s focus on Harris’ racial identity is, apparently, really becoming a problem for the GOP.

From ABC News:

Trump allies in the Senate tried to focus less on the former president’s comments at NABJ — when he called Harris’ race into question — and instead pivoted to what they believe are his policy accomplishments in his first term.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a close ally of the former president’s, said Trump would be better served focusing on policy.

Asked if it was appropriate for Trump to question Harris’ race, Graham replied: “No, I don’t think so.”

“I’ve known the vice president for a while, she has always embraced her heritage proudly as she should,” Graham said. “My problem with Vice President Harris is the policy choices she’s made. I think she’s live a consequential life, but on policy the country is on fire — the world is on fire and the country is in decline. And I think we need new leadership so so that will be my approach.”

Mind you, two years ago Graham was out here making it his Caucasian mission to promote Herschel Walker as MAGA America’s great Black hope who would Pied Piper Black children into becoming Republican voters, so it’s not like he’s above playing identity politics when it suits him, but whatever.

It’s not just Trump. Racist and sexist attacks on Harris have gotten so out of control in the MAGA world that Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson felt compelled to convene a closed-door meeting last week to warn his fellow GOP legislators to stop being racist and sexist.

November is coming, y’all. Get out and vote!

Bossip Video

Vice President Kamala Harris‘ run for The White House has only been on the track for one week and saying things have escalated quickly is an egregious understatement.

BOSSIP previously reported that donations from all sectors of the democratic alliance have been pouring in daily from the various Zoom calls that have taken place over the past week. An AP News report clocks Harris’ donation tally at $200 million in the first seven days of her campaign. Moreover, 170,000 American citizens have volunteered their time and effort to see her defeat Donald Trump in November. November 5, to be exact.

The campaign, which announced its latest fundraising total on Sunday, said the bulk of the donations — 66% — comes from first-time contributors in the 2024 election cycle and were made after President Joe Biden announced his exit from the race and endorsed Harris.

Voter enthusiasm is practically palpable and appears to be growing every day. The AP report made mention of a campaign event in Pittsfield, Massachusetts that was initially scheduled for President Joe Biden prior to stepping away from the campaign. Hundreds of people showed up to the event that was projected to bring in close to $400,000. When all the dollars were counted, Kamala Harris had raised $1.4 million.

All that said, everyone isn’t excited for Vice President Harris to drop the “Vice”. Rae Sremmurd rapper Swae Lee made himself a trending topic with a series of tweets encouraging people not to vote for Harris with some stale conservative talking points.

What “research” has Swae Lee done that has…awakened him to Kamala Harris’ nefarious plot, you ask? Probably none but at most he “researched” his bank statements.

Last time that we checked, Kamala Harris was all woman but go off, crooning king.

Sounding like a proud manga cum laude graduate of Cune University where he majored in Candace Owens. We can’t tell if Swae Lee has been cash-compromised or if he’s just dumb. Hell, both things could be true but we’d like some clarity ASAP

Sufficed to say, the backlash, clapbacks, and back-kicking were rife with great vengeance, furious anger, and searing comic relief.

When the man who proudly penned a jingle called “Up Like Trump” is talking like this, one can only surmise that he’s picked a side…

Bossip Video

I really hope everyone is sitting down for this because I would hate for any of our readers to injure themselves from falling over in shock and awe. You know what? I’ll just give y’all a second to prepare for this stupefying news. Y’all ready? OK.

There’s even more evidence that Donald Trump is racist. Likefor real, for real racist.

Seriously though, the few non-MAGA people who might be surprised to hear about Trump’s anti-Black and anti-POC bigotry because they haven’t paid attention to his history, policies or the words that have come out of his own mouth might be shocked to learn that Trump’s own nephew, Fred C Trump III, recalled in his upcoming book,  All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way, that his uncle freely used the n-word after his car sustained damage he assumed, for whatever reason, was caused by Black people.

“‘N***rs,’ I recall him saying disgustedly. ‘Look what the n****rs did,’” Fred wrote of his recollection of Trump’s racist outburst, according to The Guardian.

Trump III said the incident happened during the 1970s, which would put it right around the same time period when the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Trump over anti-Black housing discrimination. (But I’m sure that’s just a coincidence, right?)

From the Guardian:

It was “just a normal afternoon for pre-teen me”, Trump III writes, but then his uncle arrived.

“Donald was pissed,” Trump III writes. “Boy, was he pissed.”

Trump says his uncle showed him his “cotillon white Cadillac Eldorado convertible”. In its retractable canvas top, “there was a giant gash, at least two feet long [and] another, shorter gash next to it”.

“‘N****rs,’ I recall him saying disgustedly. ‘Look at what the n****rs did.’

“‘I knew that was a bad word.’”

His uncle, Trump III writes, had not seen whoever damaged his car. Instead, he “saw the damage, then went straight to the place where people’s minds sometimes go when they face a fresh affront. Across the racial divide.”

So, yeah—this is about as surprising as it was when ex-supermodel and ex-girlfriend to the ex-president, Kara Young, who is biracial, told Inside Edition that, while she and Trump were dating in the ’90s, Trump said to her, “You got your looks from your mother and your intelligence from your dad, the white side.”

Trump III’s claims of his uncle’s racism are also no more surprising than when former producer of The Apprentice Bill Pruitt claimed Trump regularly used the n-word and exhibited other forms of racism while on set. It’s also no more surprising than when Omarosa claimed repeatedly with receipts that Trump used racial slurs during his time as president. (Although to be fair, the Apprentice alum only started saying that after she spent virtually her entire time as a member of Trump’s administration trying to convince Black people that Trump isn’t racist.)

Anyway, Trump’s spokesperson, Steven Cheung, responded to Trump III’s allegations by saying  in a statement to the New York Times that the claims were “completely fabricated, and total fake news of the highest order”, adding that “anyone who knows President Trump knows he would never use such language, and false stories like this have been thoroughly debunked.” (Don’t laugh, I’m pretty sure Cheung was serious.)

Closing Arguments Begin In Former President Donald Trump's Hush Money Trial

Source: Michael M. Santiago / Getty

First of all, Cheung’s use of ” total fake news of the highest order” makes the whole statement sound like Trump personally wrote it. Like, if you’re a puppet who has Trump’s baby hands jammed up your hind parts, just say that. Secondly, Trump III and the others who have recounted personal experiences with Trump’s racism ARE PEOPLE WHO KNOW TRUMP, and even if they weren’t, non-delusional people who have heard Trump speak on anything would all laugh at the notion that the guy who once  said, “Laziness is a trait in Blacks,” would “never use such language.” As for the stories Cheung claims “have been thoroughly debunked,” it’s unclear what thorough debunking he’s referring to. Maybe he’s confusing the stories of Trump’s racism with Trump’s stories about the 2020 election being rigged.

Trump III also claimed in his book that Trump’s bigotry didn’t stop at racism, the ex-president is also allegedly ableist AF.

More from the Guardian:

Donald Trump told his nephew he should let his disabled son die, then “move down to Florida”, the nephew writes in a new book, calling the comment “appalling”.

“Wait!” Fred C Trump III writes. “What did he just say? That my son doesn’t recognise me? That I should just let him die?

“Did he really just say that?”

It came days after family members at the Republican national convention portrayed Trump as a “very caring and loving” grandfather and family man.

But Trump family history is complicated.

Fred C Trump III is the son of Fred Trump Jr, Donald Trump’s older brother who died aged 43 in 1981. A successful New York real estate executive in his own right, Fred Trump III is with his wife Lisa a campaigner for rights for disabled people like their son, William.

In 2020, Fred Trump III’s sister, Mary Trump, published her own tell-all memoir, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man. Fred Trump III distanced himself from that book but it included the story of how Donald Trump and his siblings effectively disinherited Fred Trump III and Mary Trump, then cut off funding for William’s care.

Trump III said the ex-president was the only member of his family that still “contributing consistently” to William’s care, which would make Trump almost sound like the half-decent human being we know he isn’t—if not for a conversation his nephew said he had with him regarding his son’s many needs as a disabled child.

“Donald took a second as if he was thinking about the whole situation,” Trump III wrote in his book. “‘I don’t know,’ he finally said, letting out a sigh. ‘He doesn’t recognise you. Maybe you should just let him die and move down to Florida.’”

Now, there’s the compassionate Donald Trump we all recognize.

Vice President Kamala Harris is off to the races with a whole lot of money in her political pocketbook and a new uber-enthusiastic bloc of voters who are ready to seat her in the Oval Office. Today was VP Harris’ first campaign stop as a presidential candidate, and the folks who attended the event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, were ecstatic to see who they believe will be the next president of the United States.

Between her speech yesterday at her campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, and her remarks today, VP Harris is making it very clear she and Donald Trump couldn’t possibly be more different in character. She described this election as “a choice between freedom and chaos.”

She continued (via AP News):

“In this campaign, I promise you, I will proudly put my record against his any day of the week,” Harris said. “We believe in a future where every person has the opportunity not just to get by, but to get ahead.”

Peep her full remarks in the video below.

You hear that crowd? You hear how that Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar “Freedom” was ringing off in there? They are READY.

Sonya Massey was shot dead by a Sangamon County sheriff’s deputy on July 6 after calling 911 for help with a potential prowler. BOSSIP recently reported on the incident and today we have a new and disturbing development.

According to WANDTV, The Sangamon County State’s Attorney released the body camera footage from that fateful night and we now understand why Deputy Sean Grayson was charged with first-degree murder. Sonya Massey did not have to die. She did nothing whatsoever to put these officer’s lives at risk. Sean Grayson should spend the rest of his days behind bars in the most cop-hating prison in America.

Warning: This video is very disturbing.

Ubiquitous civil rights attorney Ben Crump is representing the family and spoke at a news conference following Massey’s funeral on Friday.

“We promised Sonya Massey’s family that we would fight for them to get full justice,” said Crump. “Whole justice. Not partial justice, not half justice, not 3/5 justice. The whole justice. We want the same justice that would happen had that been a white mother of two teenagers who called the police.”

In the wake of the release of this sickening video, President Joe Biden took to Twitter to react, offer condolences, and speak to the need for serious police reform in this country.

We will be following this case very closely and will have more details as they become available.

Biden withdraws from US presidential race

Source: Anadolu / Getty

2024 has a been a hell of a year and yesterday things escalated to a new level.

President Joe Biden announced that he was dropping out of the presidential race after previously taking a defiant tone toward those suggesting that he should do so. The surprising declaration came in the wake of “Democrats” like Senator Joe Manchin coming out publicly to plead with a seemingly ailing Biden to remove himself from the campaign.

President Biden didn’t chunk a deuce before giving a full-throated endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris to take the reins and defeat Donald Trump in November.

Despite the “Where’s Waldo?” criticism that VP Harris has received over the course of the Biden administration, the news of her potential candidacy (We say “potential” because there is still a process that has to take place for her to become the official candidate. However, it’s a bit of a foregone conclusion) was met with extreme excitement by Black women who appeared even more invigorated to mobilize with the idea of “President Kamala Harris” standing before them.

An organization called Win With Black Women held an open Zoom call that moderator Jotaka Eaddy says reached 40,000 viewers at its peak.

The call garnered so much support that $1.5 million was raised in just 3 hours!

Skepticism around whether or not VP Harris can defeat Trump is divisively deep, however, this type of fundraising has to be noted as a sign of a base that is more ready to fight now than they were with an octogenarian white man with waning support from inside the party.

It isn’t just organizations like Win With Black Women who made it rain on them Joes. According to Newsweek’s reporting, another grassroots operation called ActBlue took in donations that tallied $46.7 million within a business day’s time of Biden’s big announcement. Several hours later, it was reported by KTVU that the number had risen to $60 million.

Time to punch the clock. Election day is right around the corner.

“On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country,” wrote Madam Vice President in an official statement shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“His remarkable legacy of accomplishment is unmatched in modern American history, surpassing the legacy of many Presidents who have served two terms in office.”

She went on to recount how “deeply grateful” she is for Biden and his family including First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and his late son Beau who told her about the President’s “honesty and integrity” and “his love of our country and the American people.”

“With this selfless and patriotic act, President Biden is doing what he has done throughout his life of service: putting the American people and our country above everything else,” she added of President Biden’s decision to not seek reelection.

She then confirmed that she was “honored to have the President’s endorsement” and said she intended to “earn and win this nomination.”

“Over the past year, I have traveled across the country, talking with Americans about the clear choice in this momentous election. And that is what I will continue to do in the days and weeks ahead. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda. “We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win.”

Her statement comes amid President Barack Obama and Forever Flotus Michelle Obama releasing a joint statement backing her.

President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton have responded in kind.

Netizens have LOTS to say about Harris potentially clinching the Democratic nomination and support is ramping up for the Vice Commander In Chief.

The United States is increasingly a cesspool of violence and the Donald Trump rally shooting on Saturday reflects the real state of America and its policies. As new details emerge about the alleged gunman, who was registered to Trump’s own party, there are more questions than answers.

Source: The Washington Post / Getty

As BOSSIP previously reported, the incident left one rally attendee dead, whom officials have identified as former Buffalo Township Fire Chief, Corey Comperatore. Another attendee was critically injured, and Trump sustained a wound to his ear.

New Details Emerge About The Alleged Shooter

According to USA Today, the alleged shooter was Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old registered Republican from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Secret Service agents identified and quickly killed him shortly after he allegedly fired multiple shots. Following the shooting, the internet is circulating with Trump’s defiant but dangerously timed fist-pumping gesture.

The attack has flooded social media with outlets and individuals in a frenzy, as reactions range from concern to outright denial.

Some dismissed the severity of the event, while others concocted conspiracy theories, including racist-driven claims that the event was staged to appeal to black voters.

This reflects a troubling desensitization to violence and a detachment from the traumatic realities of recent years, such as the pandemic, police brutality, and ongoing wars.

The tension and dissension of this upcoming election have reached an all-time high.

According to Newsweek, Witness Greg Smith saw Crooks with a rifle on a rooftop near the rally minutes before shots were fired. Smith and others attempted to alert the police, but their warnings went unheeded for several crucial minutes.

“We noticed the guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us, 50 feet away,” Smith recounted to the BBC. “He had a rifle; we could clearly see a rifle. We’re pointing at him, the police are down there running around on the ground, we’re like ‘Hey man, there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle’… and the police did not know what was going on.”

To many, the scene was unreal. AP News states that Trump is “fine” and being treated for his injuries.

Leaders Condemn “Political Violence,” Critics Call Out Increasingly Violent U.S. Policies

US-VOTE-POLITICS-TRUMP

Source: KENA BETANCUR / Getty

Former President Barack Obama swiftly condemned the act, emphasizing the need for civility and respect in politics. The Hill states that there was a sentiment of reform needed in politics.

“There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy,” Obama stated on X.

He also expressed relief that Trump was not seriously hurt and wished him a quick recovery, a sentiment echoed by Michelle Obama.

The incident has also caused many to reflect on the irony of gun violence used towards Trump. For a leader who believes in less structure surrounding gun reform, many are calling out his party’s policies that enabled the violence he experienced and often worse for civilians without Secret Service protection.

There is an urgent need to address violent policies within the U.S. Despite the “no violence in politics” rhetoric, the U.S. government harbors numerous policies that perpetuate violence. Trump himself has supported several such policies:

Gun Control: Trump has consistently opposed stricter gun control measures, including high-capacity weapons used in mass murders.

Military Interventions: U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts often leads to long-term instability and violence.

Criminal Justice System: Policies emphasizing punitive measures over rehabilitation can exacerbate cycles of violence.

Immigration Enforcement: Aggressive tactics towards immigrants result in human rights abuses and violence.

Police Practices: Excessive use of force, militarized arsenals, and lack of accountability too often risk and end lives rather than protecting or policing them.

President Joe Biden also condemned the violence, stating, “There’s no place in America for this type of violence. It’s sick. It’s sick.”

Many Republicans quickly blamed the violence on Biden and his allies, arguing that sustained attacks on Trump as a threat to democracy have created a toxic environment. However, under Project 2025, Trump’s closest policy advisors proposed dismantling much of the federal government as we know it.

The controversial plan includes expanded presidential power over the justice system, higher taxes for low-income earners to benefit the wealthy, removing workplace diversity programs, ending the Department of Education, and even criminalizing pornography.

Others in opposition quickly responded to hold Trump accountable for his actions leading up to the shooting. Keep in mind that Trump also called for more shootings during BLM protests, mocked the near-fatal attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband by a political extremist, and his party fought to protect people who hit or run over protesters with their cars.

Let’s Be Real: The U.S. Needs Reflection And Reform

As we move forward, it’s essential to not only condemn violent acts but also to tackle the systemic issues that enable such violence. This requires a commitment to non-violence, comprehensive gun control, and reforms across various sectors.

Let’s use this moment to reflect on our values and work towards a united, safer nation.

Despite the chaos, it is crucial for voters to remain informed and focused on the impact of the upcoming election. Results of past elections, including local leadership, ultimately took us to this point and the 2024 outcomes could shape the country’s future for generations.

Donald Trump questionably claims he’s an expert on everything else, but now he expects us to believe he has “no knowledge” of Project 2025 and its oppressive plans to give him unprecedented power as president. After the plan, directed by Trump’s former chief of staff, exploded online, that would make him the last person in the country to hear about it.

In his Philly campaign rally speech, Trump stated, “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying, and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal.”

According to AP News, he posted a statement distancing himself from Project 2025 on his social media website. “Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.”

Wish them luck? PLEASE.

Project 2025: The Drastic Plan Trump “Doesn’t Know About”

Let’s break down what Trump is desperately trying to distance himself from. Project 2025 is a 922-page plan that proposes a massive expansion of presidential power. The project includes but isn’t limited to:

  • firing up to 50,000 government workers to replace them with Trump loyalists (JUST SICK)
  • National abortions ban
  • Birth control, IVF, and STD Testing restrictions
  • Patient Data exposure
  • Eliminating the Department of Education and free school lunch programs
  • Enforcing Christian principles
  • Removing Environmental Protection Agency and protections for endangered species
  • Implementing tax policies that benefit the wealthy
  • Weaken unions and workplace safety regulations
  • End FBI efforts to combat disinformation
  • Repeal Acts for Civil Rights, Voting Rights, Fair Housing
  • End gender equality protections
  • Getting rid of DEI workers and training programs
  • Criminalizing LGBTQ+ rights and homelessness
  • Using the U.S. military against the U.S. citizens

Yet Trump would have us believe he’s completely in the dark about it. It’s hard to swallow, especially given his past authoritarian actions and statements.

The Social Media Firestorm

What’s really pushed Trump into this awkward denial is the social media uproar. Project 2025 has been trending online and on television screens. As BOSSIP previously covered, celebrities such as Taraji P. Henson are taking part in the activism against it.

Taraji didn’t hold back at the BET Awards, calling the oppressive overthrow of the government for what it is. Her bold move has put even more pressure on Trump and spread awareness of the initiative. Now, he’s backtracking and expecting us to fall for it despite his party’s track record of calling for these extremist policies.

Trump can try to address the elephant in the room, but his response is far from convincing.

Trump’s Ties to Project 2025 Figures

The key players behind Project 2025 are all Trump insiders:

  • Paul Dans, the project’s director, was a former chief of staff at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management under Trump.
  • John McEntee, a senior adviser, was the director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office.
  • Russ Vought, a significant contributor, is on the Republican National Committee’s platform writing committee.

With such close ties, Trump’s denial is more than just suspicious; it’s strategic.

Conservative Leaders’ Radical Agenda

Conservative leaders are openly declaring their revolutionary intentions to drag the U.S. back to the 1800s.

AP News states that Kevin Roberts, Heritage Foundation President, declared on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, “We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

With over 110 conservative groups involved, they’re pushing policy and personnel recommendations for the next conservative president. This isn’t just about Trump; it’s a full-blown attempt to reshape America.

Trump’s Extreme Agenda

Even if he’s trying to sidestep Project 2025, Trump’s own plans are still alarming. Research shows that he’s gearing up for a massive deportation operation and wants to potentially tariff all imports if he gets a second term.

These proposals, when combined with Project 2025, paint a chilling picture of the future. It’s devastating enough that his SCOTUS picks have lifetime control over our laws and seemingly use it to dismantle more civil rights by the day.

Trump’s campaign has previously warned outside allies not to speak for him, yet Karoline Leavitt, a campaign spokeswoman, has been featured in Project 2025’s videos. The hypocrisy is staggering.

It’s as if they want to distance themselves while simultaneously keeping the radical base riled up. Talk about having your cake and eating it, too.

Democrats Sound the Alarm

The Democratic response has been fierce. The Biden campaign has slammed Project 2025 as a “violent revolution to destroy the very idea of America.”

AP found that Ammar Moussa from the Biden campaign described it as an “extreme policy and personnel playbook for Trump’s second term that should scare the hell out of the American people.”

On Independence Day, the Biden campaign posted a dystopian image from “The Handmaid’s Tale” on X, captioned, “Fourth of July under Trump’s Project 2025.”

It’s a clear warning about the dangerous path ahead.

What’s Next?

Trump’s comments come as the Republican Party prepares to draft its party platform, and Project 2025 is gearing up to share a 180-day agenda for the next administration privately.

As these developments unfold, the American public must stay alert and informed. Trump’s denial might be a tactical move, but the implications of Project 2025 are too significant and dangerous to ignore.

This isn’t just about political maneuvering; it’s about the future of our democracy and lives.
