Who is the “Black Insurrectionist?”

The social media account known as “Black Insurrectionist,” which stirred up 2024 election conspiracy theories that Donald Trump “loves” has finally been unmasked as a white man named Jason G. Palmer. “Everybody wants to be a…” Well, you know how the saying goes.

According to The Associated Press, Palmer operated the account on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. His profile included a picture of a Black soldier and the tagline “I FOLLOW BACK TRUE PATRIOTS.”

This deceptive persona amassed over 300,000 followers and pushed controversial claims about high-profile political figures, such as Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. The AP reports that some of the account’s most salacious claims were even amplified by former President Donald Trump, JD Vance, and their Republican allies in Congress.

This feels so similar to the reveal that the Spokane NAACP President was a blonde white woman named Rachel Dolezal.

False Allegations & Russian Disinformation

In the final weeks leading up to the election, Black Insurrectionist ramped up its false claims, some of which quickly went viral. Last month, the account posted what it claimed was an affidavit from an ABC News employee alleging that Harris was provided debate questions in advance.

ABC News strongly denied that statement.

The AP states that Trump, however, seized on this baseless claim, stating,

“I love the person.”

The account also posted a fabricated story accusing Walz of inappropriate behavior with a student decades ago. U.S. intelligence identified this as a lie as stemming from a Russian disinformation campaign.

It’s such a mess.

A Dubious Digital Trail

The AP tracked the account back to Palmer by cross-referencing personal details posted by Black Insurrectionist with public records and interviews with individuals who knew Palmer.

A pivotal clue came from a video posted in March, where Palmer’s email address and the initials “JP” were visible on his web browser, linking him to the account. Palmer denied creating the account but admitted to having owned it before allegedly selling it earlier this year.

However, he recently admitted to posting content, including accusations against Walz, claiming he worked as a “researcher” with a broader network of people.

“We did that with big people. National people,” said Palmer.

So many lies piling up.

Palmer’s Troubled Past

Palmer’s backstory is equally controversial. The AP states that Palmer has a lengthy history of legal and financial issues, including allegations of fraud, more than $6.7 million in unpaid taxes. This is allegedly due to a past struggle with drug addiction.

His former associates painted a picture of a man who lured others into failing business ventures, leaving a trail of unpaid debts and broken promises. Kathleen Albano, the widow of a former business partner, described her husband’s experience with Palmer.

“He owes me a ton of money… My husband got caught up in a lot of those dealings,” said Albano.

She also claims Palmer even purchased a home from her and her husband, only to stop making payments.

Courtroom Drama & A Web Of Lies

Adding to his checkered history, Palmer has been linked to multiple lawsuits involving fraudulent business practices. The AP states that court records share a forensic specialist determined that Palmer allegedly used digital manipulation to forge signatures and notarizations on legal documents.

Despite his attempts to distance himself from the “Black Insurrectionist” account, his digital and personal history is now exposing a pattern of deceit that only adds more fuel to this heated election season.

An article was recently published in the Atlantic that accused Donald Trump of being cheap, racist, and disrespectful to a slain military officer and her family — all allegations that are easy AF to believe due to Trump’s easily verifiable track record of being a money-grubbing racist who is consistently disrespectful to military personnel and their family members. (More on that in a sec.)

In the article, the Atlantic’s Editor-in-Chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, alleged that Trump welched on his promise to pay the funeral costs of Vanessa Guillén, a 20-year-old Army private who was bludgeoned to death by another solider in 2020 at Ford Hood in Texas, once he found out what the cost of her funeral would be.

“‘It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to bury a f‑‑‑‑‑‑ Mexican!’” Trump said, according to Goldberg. “He later turned to his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and issued an order: ‘Don’t pay it!’”

But Guillén’s sister, Mayra Guillén, denied that Trump said what the article claimed, and she expressed disappointment in the publication for what she alleged was a media ploy to score political points off of her sister’s death.

“Wow. I don’t appreciate how you are exploiting my sister’s death for politics- hurtful & disrespectful to the important changes she made for service members,” Mayra posted on X Tuesday. “President Donald Trump did nothing but show respect to my family & Vanessa. In fact, I voted for President Trump today.”

The article claimed that Guillén’s family attorney, Natalie Khawam, told the Atlantic that she sent the bill for the funeral to the White House but no money was ever received. Khawam claims Goldberg misrepresented what she actually said.

“Not only did he misrepresent our conversation but he outright LIED in HIS sensational story,” Khawam tweeted. “More importantly, he used and exploited my clients, and Vanessa Guillen’s murder… for cheap political gain.”

Of course, Khawam wasn’t at all specific about how Goldberg misquoted her; she just called him a liar and got the MAGA conspiracy theorists all revved up by noting “the timing of this ‘story,’” which she called “quite suspicious.”

The Atlantic eventually published a statement sent by Trump campaign adviser Alex Pfeiffer, who wrote that the allegations were “absolutely false.”

“President Donald Trump has spent his life caring for America’s military heroes…,” Pfeiffer wrote. “There has been no greater advocate for our brave military men and women than Donald J. Trump.”

And there it is.

INDIANA, PA - SEPTEMBER 23: Republican presidential candidate F

See, they almost had me. For a second, I almost thought to myself: “Well, sh*t. Maybe it actually was “fake news” this one time. Maybe Goldberg conjured up a fake racist Trump quote that sounded nearly identical to a myriad of actual racist Trump quotes. Maybe the pathological-liar-in-chief just got served a pinch of his own medicine, and, if so, that was wrong.

But then Trump’s campaign reminded me that there’s no reason to take the denial of MAGA minions at face value — because, seriously, Trump “has spent his life caring for America’s military heroes” and “there has been no greater advocate” that he?

Pfeiffer couldn’t be talking about the same Donald Trump who, just in August, bragged that the Presidential Medal of Freedom is a “better” award than the Medal of Honor because that medal is only received by “soldiers” who are either “dead” or in “bad shape” because they’ve been shot so many times. This couldn’t be the same Trump who, at the beginning of this month, described the traumatic brain injuries that 109 U.S. service members were diagnosed with as “a headache.” Perhaps Trump’s campaign has forgotten the time when an allegation was co-signed by at least one of his own former senior administration officials that he called U.S. military soldiers killed in combat “suckers” and “losers.” Maybe it slipped his handlers’ minds that he allegedly disrespected the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson by telling her the Black veteran who died in combat in 2017 knew “what he signed up for.” (Trump has also been accused of mocking Johnson’s death.)

But even if Trump’s people had forgotten all of that, I know damn well they remember when the accused-draft-dodger-in-chief said this about late combat veteran John McCain:

“He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

Again, whether Trump actually said what the Atlantic reported he said about Vanessa Guillén, his record easily indicates why it’s not an implausible story.

Whatever, I believe it.

Antonio Brown decided to do a little soft shoeing on behalf of Donald Trump when he appeared onstage to share his support during the former president’s Pennsylvania campaign stop.

Brown took to the podium with a prepared speech about what he and Trump have in common.

“But I’m here today representing a man who carries those same values,” Brown said. “Donald Trump, he knows success, and he knows what it takes to make America great again. And to be real, we have all experienced highs and lows. Especially me in my career as a Super Bowl champion and life as a father to seven amazing children.

“I have experienced low points and have to overcome adversity. Just how I watched Donald Trump overcome adversity. No matter what the media threw at him, no matter what people say to try to bring him down, he continue to push forward and keep getting back up. And he’s always ready for the fight.”

Now, AB, the jokes write themselves at this point.

He was also joined by his former teammate and Steelers player, Le’Veon Bell, who took the opportunity to wear a vile and disgusting shirt emblazoned with the question “Trump or the Tramp?” in reference to Vice President Kamala Harris. Between Trump, Brown and Bell there are 19 children and 13 baby mamas. There are tramps present but it doesn’t feel like any of them have the last name Harris.

AB and DT also share a penchant for felony charges in addition to their appetite for fathering children with multiple women. Brown‘s charges include endangering a two-year-old toddler by throwing furniture out of a 14th-floor apartment window, sexual misconduct, assault, battery, and burglary. He also racked up a pretty high child support bill of more than $30,000, resulting in his arrest. Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of election tampering in May and will stand trial after the November election.

In today’s episode of Trump Is Still Trying To Keep America Dumb For Obvious Reasons, the ex-president made an in-person appearance on Fox & Friends to, once again, float around the idea of shutting down the federal Department of Education to ensure that everything educators are teaching in classrooms is whitey-approved. (He didn’t actually say that last part, but the last few years of anti-woke GOPropaganda proves that’s exactly what he was getting at.)

“We’re going to take the Department of Education — close it — we’re going to close it,” Trump said of his plans should he be elected to the White House in November.

He also said he would punish schools that teach about slavery. When Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade asked about schools in liberal states or cities teaching that America was “built off the backs of slaves on stolen land”, Trump said they’d be defunded.

“Then we don’t send them money,” replied Trump.

Trump made the same campaign promise last month during a rally in Wisconsin.

“I say it all the time, I’m dying to get back to do this. We will ultimately eliminate the federal Department of Education,” he said, CNN reported. “We will drain the government education swamp and stop the abuse of your taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate America’s youth with all sorts of things that you don’t want to have our youth hearing.”

First of all, neither Trump nor any of his loyal MAGA minions give a damn about students being “indoctrinated” as long as it’s the right kind of doctrine. Indoctrination, in their minds, only happens when kids are being taught about the spectrum of gender identities and sexual orientations that exist. To them, it’s indoctrination when students are taught that systemic racism is a thing in a country where Black people were barred from accessing the “American dream” through two and a half centuries of slavery and another century of legally sanctioned second-class citizenship.

However, it wasn’t indoctrination in their minds when Louisiana officially became the first state in U.S. history to require by law that the Ten Commandments be displayed in every public school in the state from kindergarten through college. It wasn’t indoctrination when Florida education officials approved requirements to teach students that enslaved people benefited from slavery and that Black victims of race massacres also committed acts of violence. Those same officials selected PragerU — an unaccredited conservative non-profit organization founded by a loud and proud racist — to provide classroom materials to Florida schools. PragerU produced animated videos for children that taught, among other things, that Frederick Douglass, a slave-turned-abolitionist, would have agreed with America’s choice to prioritize white supremacy over ending slavery.

Trump, however, hasn’t threatened Florida’s Board of Education with any kind of sanctions under his future presidency, because when he talks about indoctrination, he doesn’t mean white nationalist indoctrination, because that kind of propaganda is his political bread and butter.

What Trump doesn’t seem to understand is that as much as he tries to distance himself from Project 2025 — the Heritage Foundation’s pro-fascism brainchild aimed at permanently MAGA-tizing the federal government once Trump is back in office — he can’t seem to stop saying the Project 2025 part out loud.

One of the tenets of Project 2025 that opponents have highlighted the most is its intent to rid the country of its Department of Education.

Speaking of which, recently, reporters for Hip Hop Hollywood spoke to Black men between the ages of 18-65 and had them read excerpts from the conservative plan for America and share their thoughts on camera. The interviews covered, among other things, the project’s impact on education should it ever be enacted.

You can watch the video below. Spoiler alert: Black men weren’t feeling any of it.

University of Pittsburgh Obama Rally

Source: Tom Williams / Getty

The 2024 presidential election is just 25 days away and the race is tighter than a pair of Young Thug’s skinny jeans—it’s time to turn up the pressure and ensure that Donald Trump and his couch-canoodlin’ cohort JD Vance don’t become the Joker and Harley Quinn of Washington, D.C. To that end, former President Barack Obama hopped on the campaign trial in Pittsburgh to stump for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz to become POTUS and VPOTUS and he was in rare form.

Barry O spent the first few minutes of his time joking, mocking, and admonishing Donald Trump for, well…everything that Donald Trump says and does—a relatively standard practice.

Once the fun and games were over, President Obama’s tone shifted to an annoyed, incredulous, even angry. It’s not often that you hear seething from the man who is critically acclaimed as one of the best orators alive but it was palpable as Obama tore into Vice President Harris’ opponent’s abhorrent behavior and general ineptitude.

Obama was clearly feeling a type of way prior to this speech. Prior to taking the stage, he appeared at a local Pittsburgh Harris-Walz campaign office where he asked the sparse group of mostly Black staff to oblige him while he “speaks some truths”.

The 44th President of the United States of America went on to call a thing “a thing” and directly addressed the polling stating that VP Harris is hemorrhaging support from the Black male demographic. He minced no words.

“And you are thinking about sitting out? Part of it makes me think — and I’m speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”

Peep his remarks in full in the video below.

The podcasters, hoteps, ADOS, Black MAGAs, and other useful idiots are going to ARGUE about this one.

U.S.-PHILADELPHIA-HARRIS-TRUMP-PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

Kamala Harris Accepts the Debate, Trump Turns Tail

Donald Trump is running scared—and it’s not just from those lawsuits and criminal cases—he’s ducking and dodging a second presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. The former president backpedaling proves once again that he’ll tell others to fight while he flees the action, just like on Jan. 6.

Kamala Harris came out swinging when she accepted CNN’s invitation to a second debate scheduled for Oct. 23, just under two weeks before the 2024 presidential election. In true fighter fashion, Harris took to X (formerly Twitter) and taunted her opponent, writing,

“I will gladly accept a second presidential debate on October 23. I hope @realDonaldTrump will join me” (X).

But did Trump take the bait? Of course not.

Trump: “It’s Too Late” for a Debate Rematch

Instead of stepping up for another round, Trump scurried to his comfort zone—a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina. According to Politico, he told supporters,

“She’s done one debate, I’ve done two. It’s too late to do another.”

His excuse? Early voting had already begun in states like Minnesota, Virginia, and South Dakota, so why debate now? “It’s too late. The voting is cast, the voters are out there,” he said. As if facing his opponent would be too much to handle when ballots are already flying in. Puh-lease!

Sounds like someone’s afraid of taking another L in front of America.

Harris’ Team: “Donald Shouldn’t Be Scared”

ABC News first presidential debate

The Vice President’s campaign, smelling blood in the water, wasted no time throwing shade back at Trump. In Newsweek, Jen O’Malley Dillon, Harris’ campaign chair, kept it real in a statement:

“Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate. It is the same format and setup as the CNN debate he attended and said he won in June.”

The implication was clear—Trump’s dodging because he knows he might not come out on top this time.

Remember how he taunted Biden after their presidential debate? He even kept mentioning—excuse me—ridiculing sick Biden during his debate with Harris when he thought he had won.

What a sore loser.

Let’s also not forget Trump’s infamous boast after the first debate on Sept. 10, when he faced Harris. He confidently said he won, even though most observers handed the victory to Harris.

On Truth Social, Trump’s response was posted to Harris’ call for a rematch, claiming that the only reason she wanted another debate was because he “won” the first one.

“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH,’” Trump wrote.

He’s not convincing anyone but the most die-hard MAGA crowd.

The Real and Reactions: Trump is “Scared”

Tim Ryan, former Ohio representative and frequent Trump critic, wasn’t about to let this pass either. In The Guardian, he slams Trump’s refusal to debate, saying it’s not just strategy—it’s fear.

“Behind the beard and the tan and the hair there are two scared little boys.”

Now, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of why Trump’s running scared. After all, he’s got a lot to lose. His first debate performance in June against President Joe Biden was seen by many as a win, but Biden’s lackluster showing ended up leading to his withdrawal from the race.

With Harris stepping into the spotlight and outperforming him in their first head-to-head in Philadelphia, Trump’s campaign knew another round could further dent his carefully cultivated image as the “tough guy” who never backs down.

Harris Flexes: Campaign Dominates Fundraising

The Harris campaign has been on the offense, raking in triple the funds Trump’s team pulled in August, showing that momentum is firmly on their side. And Team Harris isn’t letting up, pushing the narrative that the American people deserve a second debate before the Nov. 5 election.

Jen O’Malley Dillon, Biden’s campaign manager, shared a statement in Newsweek

“It would be unprecedented in modern history for there to just be one general election debate.”

And she’s got a point. In previous election cycles, voters were offered multiple debates to see the candidates spar on various issues.

Trump Says No Thanks, Voters Left in the Dark

By dodging another debate, Trump risks giving the impression that he’s not up to the challenge—something Harris’ campaign is more than happy to remind voters of.

The battle lines are drawn, and Harris is ready to fight. But Trump is deciding to bail, just like he’s done with several business flops. We’ve seen how confidently he confronted Biden, but Harris has him SHOOK! And rightfully so, based on the polling numbers.

Guess we’ll see if that strategy works for him—or if running from a fight only makes the L’s pile up faster.

Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump Speaks In Asheville, NC

Source: Grant Baldwin / Getty

Unless you’re deep in the muck of political news, likely, you’ve never heard of Mark Robinson but we’re going to change that today. By the end of this article, you’ll probably know more than you ever wanted to know about the self-hating, bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic, Republican gubernatorial nominee for the state of North Carolina.

Former President Trump Holds Rally In North Carolina

Robinson’s notoriety came largely due to his inflammatory comments about all the culture war talking points that weirdo conservatives are obsessed with. The News & Observer detailed some of Robinson’s most infamous lowlights. Here is what he said about abortion in a Facebook video he published in February 2019:

“It’s about killing the child because you weren’t responsible enough to keep your skirt down or your pants up — and not get pregnant by your own choice, because you felt like getting your groove thing on. And now instead of taking care of that child, you want to kill that child so your life can go on, being on easy street and you can keep running to the club every Friday night.”

Here’s what Robinson told a North Carolina church during a video-recorded June 2024 speech about how America should deal with “wicked people”:

“When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, what did we do? We flew to Japan and we killed the Japanese army and navy. We didn’t even quibble about it. I didn’t start this fight, you did! You want to be left alone, you should have left me alone. We didn’t argue and capitulate and talk about, ‘Well, maybe we shouldn’t fight the Nazis that hard.’ No, they’re bad. Kill them. Some liberal somewhere is gonna say that sounds awful. Too bad,”

Lastly, and most damningly, here is what Robinson said during a speech at Asbury Baptist Church in 2021:

“There’s no reason anybody, anywhere in America should be telling any child about transgenderism, homosexuality, any of that filth. And yes, I called it filth. And if you don’t like that I called it filth, come see me and I’ll explain it to you.”

Now that you understand who Mark Robinson is and what he believes, you should also know something else. CNN has uncovered some of Robinson’s previously held beliefs before he became so…conservative. Between 2008 and 2012, Robinson frequently visited, commented, and watched explicit adult sex content on a website called “Nude Africa” under the username “minisoldr”.

Back then, Robinson described himself as “perv” and a “black Nazi” and told stories about peeping into women’s showers as a teenager. Despite his hateful rhetoric toward the trans community, Robinson emphatically proclaimed his love for watching trans sex content on the site.

“I like watching tranny on girl porn! That’s f*cking hot! It takes the man out while leaving the man in!” Robinson wrote. “And yeah I’m a ‘perv’ too!”

Thursday, during an interview with CNN, Robinson did the worst job ever of trying to convince the public that none of those comments were made by him.

“This is not us. These are not our words. And this is not anything that is characteristic of me,” Robinson said. Presented with the litany of evidence connecting him with the minisoldr user name on Nude Africa, Robinson said, “I’m not going to get into the minutia of how somebody manufactured this, these salacious tabloid lies.”

Yes, Mark, we know that “us” didn’t make those comments, YOU did. What the hell is talking about “us”? We bet you don’t want “to get into the minutia”, you’d much rather be waist-deep in something else.

Get this guy and all the Republicans like him TF out of here and vote them all out of office on November 5.

Republicans are a shameless bunch when it comes to blatantly disrespecting people on the basis of political affiliation, gender, sexual identity and race. In their world, the more disrespectful that you are, the more favorably you will be perceived by their base of deplorables. One might even call that base a “basket”.

Senator John Neely Kennedy proved himself to be a very unlikeable conservative earlier this week when he hatefully addressed the executive director of the Arab American Institute Maya Berry. According to NewRepublic reporting, Berry testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee during a hearing about terrorism and hate crimes that both Arab and Jewish Americans have experienced since the October 7 attack that ignited the war between Israel and Palestine.

Senator John Neely Kennedy had no intention of listening and learning from Ms. Berry, he was solely focused on disparaging her and labeling her a terrorist member of Hamas by asking, “You support Hamas, do you not?” To which Berry replied, “Hamas is a foreign terrorist organization that I do not support, but you asking the executive director of the Arab American Institute that question very much puts the focus on the issue of hate in our country.”

Kennedy is literally the reason that the hearing is taking place because people like him continue to stoke the fires of hatred and division.

Kennedy continued, “You support Hezbollah too, don’t you?” Over interjections from the senator, Berry said, “Again, I find this line of questioning extraordinarily disappointing, Senator. You have Arab American constituents that you represent.… The answer is I don’t support violence, whether it’s Hezbollah, Hamas, or any other entity that invokes it.”

“You can’t bring yourself to say no, can you?” Kennedy persisted. “Do you support or oppose Iran, and their hatred of Jews?”

After Springfield, Ohio, was catapulted into the national spotlight thanks to a web of lies spun by Trump and his ride-or-die running mate, Senator JD Vance, Vance said that the damaging allegations about Haitian migrants eating pets are stories he’s willing to “create” because some mystery “constituents” swear it’s true.

US-VOTE-POLITICS-DEBATE-HARRIS-TRUMP

Source: MATTHEW HATCHER / Getty

“If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people then that’s what I’m going to do,” Vance told CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday.

As previously reported, Trump told the nation that Haitian migrants in Springfield were nibbling on domestic animals like it was a side hustle.

Now, the Proud Boys (aka the modern KKK) are marching, and schools are getting shut down from Springfield receiving bomb threats. Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up.

But wait, Trump and Vance actually did.

The Goose (And Truth) Is Cooked

The eating/killing rhetoric first started when a Facebook post showed a man casually strolling down the street holding a dead goose, with a caption claiming that Haitians in Springfield were snatching pets and wildlife left and right. The problem is, that the photo wasn’t even from Springfield. In fact, it was snapped 50 miles away in Columbus, Ohio, back in July.

According to USA Today, the man was just walking down Cleveland Avenue with his poultry prize, not bothering anyone, much less decapitating ducks.

The man who posted the picture on Reddit apparently wasn’t trying to stir the pot and the Columbus Dispatch said the man’s reasoning for sharing the photo was because it wasn’t “something you see every day.” Well, he got that right!

Unfortunately, what he didn’t expect was for the picture to be hijacked and weaponized by anti-immigrant conspiracy theorists. Now, USA Today reports that he’s out here regretting his whole life, watching his innocent post get twisted to fit a racist narrative.

Despite no evidence of dead geese piling up on Springfield streets, the internet did what it does best: amplify misinformation faster than you can say “fact check.” Newsweek reports that the claim quickly went viral, and critics pointed out that the lie was about more than just pets. It was about creating a racist, fear-mongering narrative around Haitian immigrants—and let’s be real, Black people in general.

Whether Haitian or not, Black people everywhere became the target of these hateful rumors, all thanks to Vance and Trump’s reckless rhetoric.

Vance Swears He’s “Protecting” Americans (But From What Exactly?)

Now, here’s where things get even more ridiculous. JD Vance, ever eager to play wingman to Trump’s immigrant scapegoating, jumped in on the act. In post-debate commentary, he neglected to divert against Trump’s false narrative. He took the stage during his Senate campaign to make it clear that, in his view, Haitian migrants were illegal, even if they came to the U.S. legally through the Immigration Parole Program.

USA Today reports that he argued that by letting them in, the government was “abusing asylum laws” and putting American citizens at risk. His solution? Ship them out of here in record numbers and “protect” Americans.

But protect them from what exactly? Imaginary Haitian-led pet-eating sprees?

Vance and Trump’s xenophobic fear-mongering not only stokes fear, but also distracts from the very real issues Springfield faces as a city with a growing immigrant population.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Springfield, which has seen a surge of Haitian immigrants in recent years, is already grappling with challenges like housing, healthcare, and job integration. But none of that has anything to do with Haitians eating people’s pets. Instead, it has everything to do with decades of economic struggles in the city, a lack of proper resources, and insufficient infrastructure to support its growing population.

Springfield officials have consistently debunked these ridiculous claims. USA Today states that City Manager Bryan Heck publicly stated that there were no “credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured, or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.”

ABC moderators of the debate were quick to fact check the lie, yet Trump continues to spew out #fakenews. The whole thing is just absurd.

Haitian Immigrants in the Crosshairs, A Racist Agenda

Let’s be real here. This isn’t about geese, cats or dogs. It’s about playing into a racist narrative that Haitians, and by extension, all Black immigrants, are dangerous. It’s about Vance and Trump stirring up the kind of paranoia that makes average Americans think they need to “protect” themselves from a Black boogeyman.

Source: Michael M. Santiago / Getty

Critics have pointed out that this type of rhetoric doesn’t just hurt Haitian immigrants; it puts a target on the back of every Black person in America. Whether you’re Haitian, African American, or Black from any other background, when politicians peddle these types of lies, you become collateral damage.

USA Today reports that Sasha Rittenhouse, a Clark County commissioner, said it best during a city council meeting:

“No videos have surfaced, no pictures have surfaced, no dead geese have surfaced; there’s nothing to substantiate that it’s happening.”

Yet, here we are, with fear being spread across the country, all in the name of political points.

Meanwhile, Trump has promised the “largest deportation in history,” starting in—you guessed it—Springfield, because what better way to show your love for America than by kicking out law-abiding, hard-working immigrants who fled their home countries to escape violence?

Just to spice things up, he threw in a Venezuelan gang takeover in Colorado, for good measure. No word yet on whether the gang is also accused of cooking geese.

On Sunday’s episode of CNN’s State of the Union, JD Vance had a tense exchange with CNN’s Dana Bash who asked him to show the receipts of migrants “eating cats and dogs,” and Vance doubled down, saying he had firsthand accounts from constituents who told him this is happening, though he didn’t provide a single shred of evidence.

“The American media totally ignored this stuff until Donald Trump and I started talking about cat memes,” said Vance. “If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that’s what I’m going to do,” the Ohio senator said.

When asked about him calling it a “story that he created,” a defensive Vance snapped;

“It comes from firsthand accounts from my constituents. I say that we’re creating a story, meaning we’re creating the American media focusing on it. I didn’t create 20,000 illegal migrants coming into Springfield thanks to Kamala Harris’ policies. Her policies did that. But yes, we created the actual focus that allowed the American media to talk about this story and the suffering caused by Kamala Harris’ policies. Yes, we created the actual focus.”

Final Thoughts, Decapitating Lies

In the end, Trump and Vance’s campaign of misinformation is nothing more than a scare tactic that puts immigrants, Black people, and truth itself in the crosshairs. These lies do nothing to “protect” Americans; they only serve to divide us and fan the flames of hatred.

Next time you hear about Haitian immigrants decapitating ducks, just remember: the real beheading here is of the truth. They think we’re stupid…

The 2024 Presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump was everything it was billed to be during the lead-up. Vice President Harris shook off some early nerves and settled into a self-assured and unyielding performance that even had the righties on Fox News singing her political praises.

While it’s fair to give VP Harris her propers for preparing to prevent poor performance, her pugnacious path to prevailing over the pernicious former president was due, in part, to his complete inability to stay disciplined and state legitimate fact. The post-debate fact-checking revealed several instances where The Orangeman and Truth were divorced with irreconcilable differences.

The biggest and most viral lie that The Orangeman told last night was about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio who have been accused by conservatives of kidnapping and eating the pets of residents. This has never happened and was fact-checked in real-time by ABC’s David Muir.

Another head-scratching lie that Trump told was about abortion and the bat s#!t crazy idea that Democrats and VP Harris support fetal termination in the ninth month and after birth. First and foremost, killing a child that has been born is murder, infanticide to be specific. It is illegal in every state in America. Regarding the timeline of when a vast majority of legal abortions happen, here is the fact via The Guardian:

Fewer than 1% of abortions are performed past 21 weeks of pregnancy; when these abortions do take place, they often occur in medical emergencies or cases of fetal anomalies.

Moreover, PolitiFact notes that the Governor of West Virginia never said he would sanction a ninth-month abortion. Here’s what he did say:

Former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, a Democrat and a physician, never said he would sanction the execution of newborns. What he did say during a 2019 radio interview is that in rare, late-pregnancy cases in which fetuses are nonviable, doctors deliver the baby, keep it comfortable, resuscitate it if the family wishes, and then have a “discussion” with the mother.

We could spend thousands of words writing about the blatant lies and exaggerations that Donald Trump tried to use to win the debate against his more educated, more qualified, more dignified opponent in Vice President Harris but as Kendrick Lamar so eloquently scribed, “The audience not dumb, shape the stories how you want, hey Drake, they’re not slow”.

The 2024 presidential election is just 62 days away and the race between Vice President Kamala Harris and 53% of white women’s favorite ex-POTUS Donald Trump is reaching fever pitch. The stakes are high and voter enthusiasm for both candidates is reaching critical mass. For over a decade, the day Americans choose a new leader has been billed as “the most consequential election of our time,” which is equal parts truth and hyperbole. However, Nov. 5, 2024, might truly live up to the political marketing as even “inanimate” objects are weighing in on the vote.

According to a report by Fox Business, of all places, Amazon Alexa has some very interesting responses when you ask…it(?)…her(?)…them(?) about who you should vote for. When asked, “Why should I vote for Donald Trump?” Alexa replied:

“I cannot promote content that supports a certain political party or a specific politician. Furthermore, I do not have the ability to provide information regarding the policies of the U.S. government. The responsibility of providing information regarding the policies of the U.S. government lies with the government itself.”

When asked again, Alexa replied:

“I cannot provide content that promotes a specific political party or a specific candidate.”

However, when asked why someone should vote for Vice President Kamala Harris, well…

“While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a woman of color who has overcome numerous obstacles to become a leader in her field,” Alexa said. “Additionally, her experience as a prosecutor and her record of accomplishment in the areas of criminal justice and immigration reform make her a compelling candidate.”

As you might imagine, Trump brown-nosers are losing their MAGA-lovin’ minds and posting real-time reactions to Alexa’s good ol’ fashioned common sense on social media.

Fox Business notes that Fox News Digital reached out to Amazon to inquire about Alexa’s disparate responses and was told by a spokesperson that, “This was an error that was quickly fixed.”

What say you? Do you take issue with how Alexa replied to the question of Trump vs. Harris?

Donald Trump is at it again. The former president hit the campaign trail hard on Friday, stirring up his usual brand of controversy at a rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Among the regular opening acts that warm up the crowd before Trump’s main event, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) took center stage.

Donalds, who has been making the rounds as one of Trump’s most prominent Black supporters, used his “black job” to introduce the ex-president with all the expected fanfare.

However, it was Trump’s remarks that really got people talking—and not in a good way. According to Mediaite, Trump called out Donalds from the crowd during his speech dubbed him“a smart one” and doubled down with the phrase; “You have smart ones and ones that aren’t quite so good.” The statement left many in the audience scratching their heads.

Trump didn’t clarify who or what he was referring to with his use of “ones,” but it didn’t take long for folks to catch the racial undertones.

We know exactly who he’s talking about, and that is not only absurd—it’s disgusting.

But what would you expect from a #MAGAMaggot?

From “My African American” To “Smart Ones”—Trump’s Track Record With Black Voters

If this feels like déjà vu, you’re not alone. Trump’s recent remarks about Donalds are eerily reminiscent of his infamous “my African American” comment back in 2016. That was the rally where he pointed out Gregory Cheadle from the stage and claimed him as his own.

Fast forward to 2024, and it seems Trump refuses to avoid racial stereotypes.

In fact, Trump’s comments are just the latest in a string of statements that critics say play into anti-Black tropes. Whether he’s talking about criminal convictions or who he thinks is “smart,” Trump has a history of using language that, intentionally or not, often comes off as patronizing or worse.

And while some of his supporters might “think it’s funny” or brush it off as “Trump being Trump,” others see it as yet another sign that the former president is out of touch with and not for the Black community.

Donald Trump’s Trifling Track Record Of Hollow And Stereotypical Appeals To Black Voters

It’s not the first time Trump has tried to highlight his Black supporters in a way that feels more performative than sincere:

1. “My African American” Comment (2016): Trump referred to a Black supporter as “my African American” at a rally, criticized as tokenizing.

2. Diamond and Silk: Trump frequently praised Black commentators Diamond and Silk as symbols of his diverse support base.

3. Ben Carson’s Appointment: Trump appointed Ben Carson as HUD Secretary, spotlighted as a Black supporter with little experience in housing.

4. Black Voices for Trump: Launched for re-election, criticized as more optics than outreach.

5. Pardon of Jack Johnson: Trump pardoned the first Black heavyweight champion, seen as an appeal to Black voters.

6. Detroit Church Visit (2016): Trump’s visit to a Black church, seen as superficial outreach.

7. Support for HBCUs: Trump’s funding for HBCUs is often framed as personal benevolence rather than genuine engagement.

8. Kanye West’s White House Visit: Trump’s public support for Kanye West, despite controversies, seen as leveraging fame.

9. Frederick Douglass Remarks: Trump’s comments during Black History Month on Frederick Douglass “being recognized more and more” suggested a lack of understanding, seen as a shallow gesture.

10. Byron Donalds at 2024 Rallies: Trump’s “smart one” comment about Rep. Byron Donalds sparked criticism for tokenization.

11. Support for Herschel Walker (2022): Trump’s promotion of Herschel Walker’s Senate run was viewed as leveraging celebrity over qualifications.

12. Kanye West’s 2022 Public Appearances: Trump continued to praise Kanye West despite controversies, seen as using West’s fame for political gain.

13. Black Unemployment Figures (2023-2024): Trump often emphasized Black unemployment rates under his administration as a reason for Black voters to support him.

14. Trump claiming the mugshot from his RICO case for alleged election tampering in 2020 and 34 felony convictions in his hush-money case makes him more relatable to Black voters, invoking racist stereotypes of inherent criminality.

15. Trump releases gaudy golden high-tops during Black History Month because “they love sneakers.”

What a horrible trip down memory lane. These are just a few examples; the list goes on.

Byron Donalds: Trump’s “Superstar of the Future” or Just Another Token?

So where does this leave Byron Donalds? The Florida congressman has been riding high on Trump’s endorsement, with the former president even calling him a “superstar of the future” during the rally. Yet, with Trump’s latest remarks, many question whether Donalds received sincere praise or just conveniently became a sunken token to appeal to Black voters.

While Trump did say Donalds is “great” and “knows exactly what I’m talking about,” the praise was quickly overshadowed by the awkwardness of the “smart ones” comment.

For Donalds, who has steadily built his political career, the association with Trump could be a double-edged sword.

On one hand, he’s getting national attention and a platform to speak to a broader audience. On the other, he risks being pigeonholed as just another Black politician in Trump’s orbit, more famous for the color of his skin than his political acumen.

Please Remember This Ignorance At The Polls

The 2024 election is closely approaching, and moments like this will only keep coming. No amount of backhanded bigoted compliments, token appointments, or PR stunts make Trump’s policies any better for Black people, especially the ones outside his tax bracket. And no rapper endorsement changes the fact that several top members of the Trump administration are 3reportedly leading Project 2025.

For Byron Donalds and other Black Republicans, the challenge will be navigating the fine line between gaining Trump’s favor and maintaining their own identity. Because in Trump’s world, being the “smart one” might come with more strings attached than they bargained for.
