Trump Attack On Ilhan Omar Increase Death Threats Against Her

This weekend we reported on the potentially deadly political game that Donald Trump is playing with the life of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.

Trump used the 9/11 terrorist attacks to criticize Omar on social media for what he perceived to be a slight against those who lost their lives on the fated day back in 2001.

Today we learn that the death threats against Omar have increased exponentially in the days since 53% of white women’s president launched his Twitter-fingery attack.

The crazy thing is that the very same Republicans who are following their spineless leader down this hole of indecency and heada$$ness will be the same one mourning if something terrible did befall Congresswoman Omar.

Jim Jones Takes Plea Deal To Avoid Jail Time

According to TMZ, Jim Jones was able to avoid jail time in his Georgia gun and drug case after copping a plea deal.

According to court records, Jones was sentenced to a slight 2 years probation and a $1,500 fine(plus minor court costs). That’s considerably lower than what he would have gotten had the charges stuck.

Three of the six charges were reportedly dropped, including a felony drug charge and 2 felony counts of possession of a firearm. The other three charges will go away if he stays out of trouble while on probation, according to the stipulations of the plea.

Jimmy reportedly only has to stay away from alcohol and drugs for the next couple years and report to his probation officer in GA to get the remaining three charges dropped from his record.

Ohio Governor Signs Heartbeat Bill Restricting Abortion

According to ABC News, Ohio has now added itself to a growing list of states that have signed a ban on abortions after a heartbeat can be detected.

Republican Gov. Mike DeWine signed the extremely controversial ban, which is one of the most stringent in the country, earlier this week. Similar bills were almost pushed through in Ohio in the past, but the state’s last Republican governor, John Kasich, vetoed those saying that they were unconstitutional.

“The essential function of government is to protect the most vulnerable among us, those who do not have a voice,” said Gov. DeWine about signing the bill. “Government’s rule should be to protect life from the beginning to the end, to protect those who cannot protect themselves. … The signing of this bill today is consistent with that respect for life.”

The abortion ban is said to take effect once a detectable heartbeat — which can be as early as six weeks into a pregnancy when some women may not know that they are pregnant — has been challenged in a number of other states.

As soon as DeWine signed the Ohio bill into law, the state’s chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) announced that they will be challenging it in court.

“This legislation is blatantly unconstitutional and we will fight to the bitter end to ensure that this bill is permanently blocked,” said Freda Levenson, the legal director of the ACLU of Ohio, in a statement. “SB 23 is one of the most aggressive, oppressive, and radical attacks against women ever seen in this state and this country.”

Kelis Pleads Not Guilty to Violating Custody Deal With Nas

According to The Blast, Kelis is headed straight to trial with her child’s father Nas after denying she violated their custody agreement by taking their son out of the country.

According to court documents, Kelis entered a plea earlier this week of not guilty to 20 counts of contempt. The trial has been scheduled for June 20, when Kelis could be sentenced to fines or even as harshly as jail time if the judge sees fit. Earlier this year Nas filed court documents wanting Kelis to be found in contempt and claimed she had violated their custody agreement over 17 times since last year.

In his affidavit for contempt, the rapper explained how Kelis had violated the terms that they set.

“In or around December of 2018, Petitioner (Kelis) moved to Cartagena, Colombia and took the minor child without my consent.”

Nas said Kelis told him she intends to stay in Colombia and planned to tend to a farm with her husband. He also wrote,

“On Christmas, (Kelis) informed me by text message that although her ‘plan’ had been to bring the minor child back to me in Los Angeles for New Year’s, the plan had changed. She then stated that the new plan was to come back on January 4, 2019.”

But she reportedly did not return to L.A. on January 4, instead, she made him wait until January 14 before bringing the child back into the States.

During this time Nas claimed that he was unable to reach or speak with his child when he was in Colombia.

Nas accused Kelis of knowingly violating the custody order and refusing to allow him to see his son. He also claimed Kelis refused to pay $8k in sanctions she was ordered to pay previously.

They say you learn something new everyday, and with the Internet expanding so rapidly, it seems like we learn something new every second. Most people go their entire lives repeating things they’ve heard without checking it’s validity.

For example, this whole time, we’ve all been complaining about something being “hard as hell.” But to many folks’ surprise, it’s actually “hard as hail” — get it?

Idioms and expressions are said to be one of the most difficult parts about learning the English language.

“Idioms in your first language don’t translate well into English. I’ve learnt this the hard way.”- Bayan_bdg

“I bet it’s hard to translate complex idioms, like the Russian “incommunicable spiritual anguish” and the English “Guess what? Chicken butt.”- BoobsRadley

The beauty of life is that you learn and grow and change everyday. There are so many instances when people were today years old when they found out certain things.

“i just found out that the division symbol (÷) is just a blank fraction with dots replacing the numerator and denominator. oh my god.”- Advil

That got us thinking, what else have we been saying that’s flat out wrong? People are still bugged out that Gif is pronounced Jiff. Hit the flip to check out more phrases you’ve probably saying wrong all along.

Lawsuit Against Cobb County Cop Who Shot Unarmed Teen Upheld

Day after day we report on police shootings where the trigger-happy officer faces little to no consequences, today we are happy to report the opposite.

According to the AJC, a Cobb County police officer, James Caleb Elliott, will have to answer in court as to why he fired eight shots at unarmed then-16-year-old Neghasi Middleton, one of which struck him in the thigh.

The incident was captured on Elliott’s body camera and based on that video U.S. District Court Judge Mark Cohen decided that the civil lawsuit filed against the officer held merit.

Back on Nov. 6, 2016, Elliott responded to a call about a suspicious looking vehicle that contained Middleton and 3 other youths. After getting their names and birthdates, Elliott ran the plates and realized the PT Cruiser had been in a carjacking. The officer came back with his gun drawn and told the boys to get out of the car and lay on the ground. Middleton, in fear for his life because police ain’t s#!t, began to run away. Elliott then fired eight shots at him and struck him once.

Elliott resigned from the force but Cobb County grand jury determined that the shooting was justified, because of course white cop HAD to shoot unarmed Black boy. SMH.

This isn’t Elliott’s first time at the police brutality rodeo.

The lawsuit notes that there were three other complaints filed against Elliott. One alleged he was “too aggressive” with a woman who sought assistance for her husband. Another said he demonstrated a racial bias during an accident investigation. Another alleged he used excessive force by pointed his gun at a woman’s chest without justification after he mistakenly went to the wrong address on a call.

F**k 12. We hope this guy loses everything he owns in this lawsuit.

Reggie Bush Starts GoFundMe To Raise Funds For Nipsey Hussle’s Kids

According to TMZ Sports, Reggie Bush took to Twitter on to announce that he and his wife donated $10,000 to Nipsey Hussle’s two young children. He also pushed for friends to help them reach their $100,000 goal.

The former NFL star partnered with GoFundMe and CAA to launch the fundraiser for Nipsey’s family, after feeling “empowered” by Lauren London. “Nipsey touched a lot of lives in a positive way,” Bush said. “He wanted to make a difference in his community, and communities like it all around the world.”

“As a tribute to Nipsey, I would like to offer support to his children, and all funds from this GoFundMe will be transferred directly into a trust that was created solely for his legacy, his two children, Kross & Emani,” Bush told viewers. “I’m making a donation to start this off. Please join me in honoring him in this way.”

As the world watched the beautiful service honoring the life of Nipsey Hussle during the rapper’s memorial in Los Angeles on Thursday, many celebrities shared emotional letters to the late West Coast rapper (including former President Barack Obama).

The fundraiser will only be active for seven days and all proceeds will go to Hussle’s children.

Fisher-Price Sleeper Recalled After Several Dozen Babies Die

According to the NY Times, Fisher-Price has recalled all of its 4.7 million Rock ’n Play sleepers due to a group of pediatricians urged its parent company, Mattel, to stop selling the product amid reports linking it to multiple infant deaths.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said consumers should stop using the sleeper immediately and reach out to Fisher-Price for a full refund or a voucher. Major retailers sell the product from anywhere between $40 to $149.

Fisher-Price also issued a joint safety warning with the product safety commission last week after the commission said it knew of 10 deaths since 2015 of children 3 months or older linked to the baby sleeper.

The sleeper reportedly caused the children to suffocate after rolling over in the sleeper from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained.

Mattel said in a statement that it stood by the safety of its products but agreed to the voluntary recall “due to reported incidents in which the product was used contrary to the safety warnings and instructions.”

A separate investigation by Consumer Reports connected the “cloth-covered cradle” to 32 infant deaths from 2011 to 2018, including some involving children under 3 months.
