Surviving R. Kelly: The Impact Airing On May 4th

Deadline is reporting that Lifetime isn’t done with their R. Kelly exposé, they are airing a follow-up special. Reportedly, the special features footage from the docuseries, interviews with journalists, legal experts, non-profit organizations and psychologists to discuss the ongoing story surrounding R. Kelly.

Viewers will also get an in-depth look at his now infamous interview with Gayle King and the women who are still living with him.

Lifetime’s explosive docuseries Surviving R. Kelly, which chronicled sexual abuse allegations against singer Robert R. Kelly, changed the Kelly conversation. Now the network has set a two-hour follow-up special. Hosted by award-winning journalist Soledad O’Brien, Surviving R. Kelly: The Impact highlights the impact the documentary has had on our culture globally, how it has elevated the conversation on sexual violence and what it means to be a survivor. It’s set to premiere Saturday May 4 at 10 PM ET/PT on Lifetime.

R. Kelly Loses Sex Abuse Case For Failing To Show Up To Court

Another day, another round of legal trouble for R. Kelly.

As previously reported four alleged victims came forward in February claiming they were abused by the singer leading to him facing 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Earlier this week R lost one of those cases simply for not showing up to court.

PEOPLE Magazine reports that on Tuesday, a Chicago judge issued a default judgment in the case, as neither Kelly nor his lawyers filed an answer to the suit, or made an appearance in court.

The case in question involved a woman only identified as H.W. who claimed that R started abusing her in 1998 when she was 16. The woman claimed that she engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sex with the singer. She also said she came forward after undergoing therapy.

Her lawyer Jeffrey Deutschman, told PEOPLE that R was served with the lawsuit while in custody at the Cook County jail in March after failing to pay $161,000 in back child support.

On May 8 the woman and her lawyer will return to court to get a judgment regarding how much the Pied Piper will have to pay in damages.

R’s publicist told The Chicago Sun-Times that they’re far from worried about the suit.

“We don’t care about the lawsuit. The lawsuit means nothing to us,” he said.

Meet Lil Baby’s Lil Baby Boy

Time for some Friday preciousness to ease into the weekend.

It’s been around a month and a half since 24-year-old rapper Lil Baby became a daddy. He and his girlfriend Jayda Cheaves welcomed baby “LA” back in February. Baby LA has two hardworking parents. His papi has multiple Billboard charting hits, meanwhile, his mama is retired from killing it in the hair industry.

Look at how chill he is.

North Carolina Woman Is Put In Handcuffs After Finding Vomit In Seat

A Durham, North Carolina mother is rightfully making noise after a gross flight experience that resulted in her arrest.

According to ABC News, Rosetta Swinney was boarding a Frontier Airlines flight with her 14-year-old daughter when they found VOMIT in her daughter’s seat.

The flight was getting ready to take off from Las Vegas after already being delayed so the staff could “clean” the plane.

“She jumped up to say mom! My hands are wet. She smelled it. She says ‘this is vomit, mom,’” Swinney explained. “So we went to look. It was on the bag, all over her shirt, her hands.”

Gross, gross, GROSS.

Swinney said when she alerted the flight attendant, they gave her nothing but bad attitude.

“I don’t know if she got offensive about it. But she turned around to me and said, ‘that’s not my job.’ If it wasn’t her job. Why wasn’t it attend to?” Swinney said.

In a statement, Frontier Airlines said that “the flight attendants apologized and immediately invited the mother and her teenage daughter to move to either end of the plane so that the seat area could be cleaned.”

The statement continued, “the mother and daughter were…told that once boarding was complete they would be provided other seats if available.”

Swinney, however, said that this never happened. She said the flight attendant never tried to clean up the vomit and she didn’t reassign their seats.

A woman on Facebook who witnessed the interaction even posted a similar account, saying that the attendant argued that it wasn’ their job to clean up the mess.

Swinney said she confronted the flight attendant again and that’s when the cops were called to remove her and her daughter from the plane.

“I felt humiliated,” said Swinney. “I felt more bad that my child had to see me be handcuffed and taken away from her.”

Swinney said she spent 12 hours in jail while her kid was in child protective custody. After being released from jail, Swinney said she bought a $1,000 ticket back home through Delta. Obviously, she said she will never ride Frontier Airlines again.

The company refunded the cost of her original flight back home, but Swinney said this isn’t good enough. She’s hired a civil rights attorney to go against her misdemeanor trespassing charge. She’s set for a Las Vegas courtroom in June.
