DaBaby was reportedly sued a little over a month ago for an attack that his entourage inflicted on rapper Don Trag.
The aforementioned assault was so severe that it allegedly left Don Trag in a coma due to brain and neck swelling. It all took place back in May at Centro Night Club in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where both DaBaby and Trag were scheduled to perform that night. After that, DaBaby ended up skipping the gig and as a result, he’s now facing another lawsuit.
According to reports from TMZ, DaBaby is being sued by promoter Nothing To Something ENTertainment due to his no show following the incident. The promoters have said that they already paid the rapper for the show, but he made off with the money without ever setting foot onstage. The promoters did not list what the cost was for his performance.
Now, Nothing To Something ENTertainment is seeking unspecified damages. Sources close to DaBaby initially claimed he left the show because he didn’t feel safe following the assault, and at the time, the promoters offered to reschedule. But now, it looks like they’re planning to sue because he never agreed to a rescheduled date.
In other news, DaBaby is also dealing with being sentenced to a year of probation in connection to a fatal shooting at the end of June 2018. The 27-year-old rapper was charged with one count of carrying a concealed weapon.
The war between the Kardashian sisters and glow-up queen Jordyn Woods is still going strong.
Most recently, a new episode of KUWTK aired Khloe’s unfiltered reaction to Jordyn’s Red Table Talk and fans haven’t stopped dragging Khloe since. Remember when Kylie’s ex-BFF sat down with aunty Jada Pinkett Smith to tell her side of the story, revealing Khloe’s baby daddy Tristan Thompson randomly planted a kiss on her at the end of a long night out? Well, Khloe was watching and she was LIVID. She even called Jordyn “fat.”

Halle Bailey Playing Ariel In “The Little Mermaid”
A sweet songbird and one half of Beyonce’s protege group has landed a dream role.
Halle Bailey of Chloe X Halle will portray Ariel in Disney’s live-action “Litle Mermaid” remake. The 19-year-old songstress confirmed the news herself on Instagram with a picture of a melanated mermaid in all her glory.
Melissa McCarthy will play Ursula alongside, Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina. The film is produced by John DeLuca, Marc Platt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Director Rob Marshall released a statement on Halle landing the role and he couldn’t be happier, even if rancid racists are questioning the casting.
“After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role,” said Marshall.
The news caused a bit of confusion, however, fans at first thought Halle BERRY would be playing the iconic character. Halle has since congratulated her namesake on the role.
Congrats Halle! She’s gonna KILL it!

As anticipation for The Lion King grows, Disney continues to drop visuals for the movie, either in the form of clips, behind the scenes footage or posters.
On Tuesday, they continued to give the people what they want with photos of the cast and their animal counterparts.
The results?
Weeeell…
Now don’t get me wrong, Donald Glover and the rest of the cast look great and in Bey we trust for life BUT…
They could’ve done better than this.
It looks like they put up a school picture day background, turned on the lights and then said “CLICK,” there’s your photo. The copy-and-paste juxtaposition of the humans and animals doesn’t help either.
I mean, where’s the extravagance? Where’s the fantasy? This is THE LION KING not a Sinéad O’Connor music video.
Beyoncé would NEVER.
But she’s probably getting paid a pretty penny, so her “never” might have turned into a “yes sir.”
On top of all this, the “floating head in a dark background” look has been done countless times, especially in music.
Hit the flip for some famous album covers that pulled off the style well for music but for a Disney blockbuster, it might not hold up.
Trevor Jackson came through to the iOne Digital offices on Monday to kick our week off proper and talk all about one of our favorite shows, as it relates to real life. If you didn’t know, Trevor is a singer-songwriter, dancer, and actor, best known for his role as Aaron Jackson on Grown-ish, the Black-ish spinoff that follows Zoey Johnson off to college. So far, season 2 has been a rollercoaster ride — Aaron ended up sneaking around with Zoey’s best friend Ana, which got complicated because Aaron and Zoey had a thing for each other at one point. Nomi is sneaking around with her professor, it feels like Zoey and Luca are one argument away from calling it quits, and Doug and Jazz are still in recovery mode after breaking up over instagram.
In a moment that certainly confused me last week, Ana confessed her love for Aaron but he said he wasn’t ready to get serious. In an interview for Global Grind, I asked Trevor what emotions can cause an interested man to pass up on being in a full-on relationship.
“It depends,” he told us. “When there’s a lot of sexual chemistry, which Ana and Aaron had in the beginning, that becomes the main focus. Then, when you realize, you’re really stepping into a relationship, it can kind of be overwhelming. I think it’s about being ready. I think sometimes you can rush into something and if it feels good, you might not be thinking about all of the little steps it takes to make a relationship strong.”
I also asked his opinion on Doug and Jazz’s Instagram argument. Doug is played by Trevor’s longtime friend and collaborator Diggy Simmons, while Jazz is played by yet another music maven… Chloe Bailey. On the show, Jazz wants to rebrand with a sexier Instagram image, but her boyfriend Doug isn’t feeling it. He demands she takes her thirst-trappy photos down, but she stands her ground. When I asked Trevor if your significant other should have a say in what you post on social media, here’s what he had to say…
“How serious are we? Because if we’re in a situationship and nobody said the words ‘I wanna be with you’ and ‘I want you to be with me,’ then people can do whatever because there was no communication. You can’t really be faulted for situations that aren’t clear. But, I feel like if you’re really going to be with someone, absolutely, for sure… ‘That’s too much, I need that to come down now.’ Vice versa, though, which means if I have a say about hers, she has a say about mine. A fair compromise.”

In yet another exciting addition to the cast, Jordyn Woods is all set to star in an upcoming Grown-ish episode and Trevor mentioned she’s really talented and her character plays an important role. “She stays at the Hawkins dorms and the episode she’s on is about Black mental health,” he said, giving us a little insight. “She’s kind of the first person to open up about mental health being difficult to talk about. She did great for her first time acting, she did a great job!” Speaking on the entire cast, he tells us they’re all family at this point. “Diggy’s been my brother forever, since like 16, we used to tour and do music together — still do. We’ve all become a family. I think that’s the best part of my life right now… when I can just go and not feel like I’m working.”
So, besides his own show, what else is Trevor watching? He’s really into this series Huge In France on Netflix, which he says is about a famous comedian in France who’s hilariously confused when he moves to the United States and attempts to lead a normal life. He also got pretty excited talking about The Umbrella Academy, which I can tell you is definitely worth the watch.
Tune into Grown-ish tonight on Freeform at 8 p.m. ET and stream his latest project Rough Drafts, Pt. 2 on all major platforms.
Kim Kardashian Wins Missguided Lawsuit
Remember when clothing brand Missguided would drop those pics promoting knockoff Kim Kardashian dresses HOURS after Kim posted IG pics?
Well while some people thought it was a not so secret collab between Kim and the boutique to up their sales, it looks like Kim wasn’t involved with Missguided at all and their clever marketing’s costing them BIG.
TMZ reports that Missguided USA’s been ordered to pay Kim $2.7 million plus $60,000 in legal fees for their unauthorized use of her face, body, and name. Kim sued the company back in February and today a judge ruled that “Missguided has repeatedly used Kardashian’s name and likeness without permission on its social media platforms to promote the sale of its clothing.”
The court points out Missguided’s website has entire pages dedicated to selling and knocking off dresses inspired by Kim. The real offense is they’re using photos of Kim to make it seem to consumers she’s associated with the brand.
Technically Kim didn’t have to do much to win her suit, Missguided USA never responded so the judge awarded her a default judgment.
In addition to the money, the court has permanently blocked Missguided from using Kim’s trademarks.
SHEESH.
People have been calling Kim and her fellow Kardashians “copycats” for years. Most recently she was accused of copying Rih’s Fenty Savage lingerie with her Kimono Intimates. Despite that, it looks like Kim herself doesn’t’ take too kindly to being copied.
Pot meet kettle or nah???

Time flies when you’re turning up.
The era when Facebook was new and poppin’, flip phones and baggy clothes were out and sidekicks and skinny jeans are in — but one thing that doesn’t change with the times is our love for music. Ten years ago, Rihanna hadn’t solidified her place in music, Beyoncé and Jay Z weren’t even parents yet and Kanye West was Kardashian-free.
2009 was a such a transitional year, too. It was the end of a decade, we lost Michael Jackson, and the death of autotune was on the rise. Music still had a little meaning and a little fun, and wasn’t so drug and club influenced just yet. Life was much simpler back then.
@CynthiiaBay: “remember how life was 10 years ago when during the summer we’d all wake up and watch new music videos playing on teennick or mtv? man that sh** was so much fun.”
Just in time for the nostalgic summer weather, hit the flip to check out our list of hit songs that were probably on your Summer playlist in 2009.
