Last night’s episode of Euphoria was a lot to take in, as Zendaya Coleman‘s character got real about depression, addiction, and bipolar disorder. So far, the story has been intriguing to watch as writer Sam Levinson has done a great job of building each persona out — and one person we hope we get to know a little more is Maddie, played by 24-year-old actress Alexa Demie.

Maddie is the confident, fly, popular, outspoken high school girl we all know too well and her boyfriend is, of course, the most popular high school jock in the neighborhood, Nate. While we’ve gotten some backstory, it isn’t enough to explain why Maddie is as trifling as she is. If you’ve been watching, then you know she led Nate to believe she was raped, when in fact she cheated on him by choice. Nate, who seems to know Maddie was lying, beat her side piece up anyway. Later, after Nate assaults Maddie in a separate argument then nearly gets caught, the two blame Maddie’s bruises on the guy she accused of raping her. Yep, Euphoria is that twisted.

Last night, Alexa took to Instagram to get everyone excited for a new episode. While her character took a backseat in this week’s chapter (with writers focusing more on Cassie, Rue, Fez, and Nate), Alexa stole the show with a selfie that reminded us she’s fly in real life too.

Now back in stock, the lipstick which is a $12 hot pink ultra-matte shade does more than make your pucker look perfect, it actually benefits their Historically Black alma mater. All proceeds from the lippie will be donated to FAMU to “fuel campus beautification, scholarship and FAMU women.”

Always PHIRST in service, these Alpha Kappa Alpha women are demonstrating the “beauty of sisterhood” beyond their lipstick and are organizing service projects funded by Lovengood Lips.
The projects include volunteering overseas with a local orphanage to service youth separated from their biological families and The Sister Soldier Project, a community service effort they began in the Spring of 2009, which provides feminine products, non-perishable goods, and other essentials to active-duty women in the military.

Prodigy Alert: Aretha Franklin Biopic Is Taking Online Auditions To Play Young Aretha, Does The World Possess Such Talent?

The Aretha Franklin biopic Respect is headed for the big screen with Jennifer Hudson playing the adult Queen of Soul.

However, anyone who knows Aretha Franklin knows that the the songstress started singing for the heavens at a very early age. Now, the producers for Respect are searching for someone who can fill her young church shoes back when she was belting gospel under her father’s church.

The casting description reads:

“African American girl to play ages 10-14. Charismatic child prodigy. At times painfully shy, at other times joyful, especially when playing the piano and singing. MUST SING WELL, IDEALLY WITH A SOARING GOSPEL SOPRANO. PLAYING PIANO IS A PLUS. LEAD.” 

Just for a little context, below is a clip of Aretha singing “Precious Lord” from her first live album Songs of Faith in 1956, according to Biography.com. She was only 14 years old at the time of the recording.

So yea…the movie has some big church shoes to fill.

The power and tone of Aretha’s voice is so distinct, it begs the question can they find a child of God worthy enough to take on Aretha. Granted, there have been some potentials in the past.

Let’s not forget Jazmine Sullivan giving us iconic vocals at age 11 when she blew the house down as Dorthy in The Wiz.

More recent singers like Destiny Chukunyere have also proven that they have the chops for big songs. Chukunyere even paid tribute to Aretha when she was 14 on Britain’s Got Talent singing “Think.”

The world is ripe with potential.

Folks who are thinking about auditioning for Respect better get a move-on, however. Rehearsals are set for September for a shoot that starts in October. If you think you or your cousins have the chops to take on prodigy Aretha, you can submit for the role here.

If he wasn’t rapper/producer, Soulja Boy could low-key be a comedian. He’s been big trolling and making the world laugh ever since he realized his Crank Dat days were over. Fast forward to 2019 and Soulja still out here doing Gif-worthy things. Back in January, the rapper and Marriage Boot Camp star stopped by the Breakfast Club, and boy oh boy was that a treat.

Not only did Big Draco try to prove to everyone (once again) that he’s a pioneer in the hip hop, but he went as far as to say he taught Drake everything he knows. When Charlamagne and DJ Envy said Drake was the biggest rapper in the world, Soulja’s response was hella sound bite worthy.

“Drakkkee?? The n**** that got bodied by Pusha T? The n***a that was hiding his kid from the world and the world was hiding from his kid. Aubrey Graham in the wheelchair? Drake? Stop playing with me like I ain’t tell Drake everything he know. He copied my who f****g flow! Don’t act like I aint make Drake.”

But it didn’t end there. Soulja says he used to get blamed for killing hip hop and was shunned by all the OG’s when he first hit the scene. Now they love working with young, fun artist. Does he have a point?

“I’m the reason all these artist have a social media..very artist in the game, every record label owe me 5% bruh”

Antoine Fuqua Fathered Son From Extramarital Affair

We’ve been hearing a lot of folks saying that Nicole Murphy is getting too much of the blame for the “friendly” kissing she and Antoine Fuqua were caught doing in Italy. But apparently Fuqua’s time of reckoning has arrived because his past indiscretions are being put on display. According to the YBF, court records show Fuqua fathered a son during his 20 years of marriage to Lela Rochon:

The Equalizer director admitted to fathering a son, named Roman Jimenez, with a woman named Ruth Jimenez, in court documents dated August 2010. In the paperwork (obtained by Hollywood Street King), he revealed he was ordered to pay $10,000/month in child support and that he owed $86,000 in back child support. He was petitioning the court to lower his child support order to $3,134/month because he said he couldn’t afford the ordered payments.

Hollywood Street King also reports allegations from a London model/actress who claims to have met Antoine Fuqua through Scott Steindorff and claims she had an affair with Fuqua. That model/actress also alleged she witnessed a second woman assault him while claiming he’d fathered her daughter. The model/actress claimed Fuqua told her ‘I f***ed her once bareback and now she had a kid for me.’ She claims Fuqua went home after the encounter “super stressed” because the woman had plans to call Rochon. The witness allegedly added,

“How Lela still doesn’t know about this OTHER love child is a mystery to me. Unless she does and doesn’t care.”

YIKES… Do you think all this attention will cause Lela Rochon to finally decide enough is enough?

KeKe Wyatt is indeed pregnant. After rumors swirled that she’s expecting another baby, the soul songstress was spotted clearly sporting a baby bump. KeKe made a stop in Washington, D.C. Saturday for McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour and while there posed for pics backstage.

She was also spotted on stage with a noticeable pregnancy belly.

The singer, 37, is already a mom of 9 (8 biological, 1 step-child). This will be her first child with her new husband Zackariah David.

Christina Milian Announces Pregnancy With Boyfriend Matt Pokora

Christina Milian has a new project dropping in 2020.

The actress announced early morning on Sunday, July 28th that she is pregnant with her second child! She posted an adorable photo next to her boyfriend, Matt Pokora, as he holds an ultrasound photo over her belly.

In the caption, she wrote, “New release 2020! What a blessing! Let’s do this babe @mattpokora”

Her boo and the soon-to-be father also posted a pic from the same photoshoot, showcasing a black-and-white flick and writing a caption in both French and English that states, “legacy on the way.”

Back in May, Pokora posted a video to his Instagram stories of Christina’s daughter Violet calling him “daddy,” so it seems like he’s been preparing for this new role for a while now.

As stated in Milian’s caption, the new bundle of joy won’t be arriving until 2020, so the couple must be announcing pretty early on in their pregnancy–but who can blame them for being excited?

Congrats to Christina and Matt on the new chapter!

Imbecile in Office went on a rant late Saturday in response to Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland’s 7th Congressional District’s criticism of conditions at the border.

During a recent congressional hearing, Cummings blasted acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan about border conditions and asked if the department has an “empathy deficit” pointing out that children at the border are “sitting in their own feces” and being treated as less than human beings.

That apparently set Trump off and he went on a lengthyyyyy rant aimed at Cummings and Baltimore, Maryland.

According to y’alls President Cummings’ majority-black district in Baltimore is a “disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess” and “no human being would want to live there.”

Wowwwwww.

Baltimore’s Mayor Jack Young has since clapped back and he’s defending his city and Rep. Cummings.

Your President is a rancid racist who thinks Baltimore is “disgusting” and Haiti and African countries are “sh*tholes.”

Season 7 of Orange Of The New Black is finally available on Netflix — and if you’re like me, you’ve probably finished the entire season in two days (or less).

This season’s energy was totally different than the earlier ones and things are totally different for the inmates. Yet the show still found a way to reflect what’s going on in the real world, onto the prison life. Season 7 marks the last and finale one of the series, and although viewers are pretty sad, some of the show’s stars feel that it’s the right thing to do.

Laura Gomez, a.k.a Blanca Flores — whose storyline played a major part in season 7, told Digital Spy:

“It’s been bittersweet, of course, for pretty much all of us in many ways. It’s been a show that’s been part of our lives for seven years.”[But] it also feels like the right thing to do. It’s an iconic show with a huge following, bringing important topics to the table. We want to leave on a high note. You want to leave when the conversation is still happening, instead of letting a hearse take you away.”

Judge Rules Flo Rida Must Pony Up For Son’s Autism Therapy (Exclusive)

Rapper Appears By Phone In Court Over Toddler Son’s Care After Autism Diagnosis

A judge has denied Flo Rida’s baby mama’s request for more child support for their son’s expenses related to his autism therapy but ruled that the rapper must timely reimburse her for out of pocket costs.

Lawyers for both Flo Rida and his son’s mother Alexis Adams were in court Friday where Adams’ lawyer asked for a child support increase in order to pay for their son’s medical needs and ongoing therapy after doctors diagnosed the boy as being on the autism spectrum earlier this year.

Adams’ lawyer Ava Gutfriend argued that the insurance that the boy currently has doesn’t allow for out of network coverage, dental visits and ophthalmology, leaving Adams to pay the difference out of pocket, which she said can run into thousands of dollars. And when she’s given the receipts to Flo’s legal team, he’s taken up to a year to pay her back, Gutfriend said.

But Flo Rida’s lawyer Howard Felcher said the “Welcome To My House” rapper never has never been in court for violating the support order and covered “100 percent” of his son’s needs.

In the end, the judge said the lawyers should confer and come up with a system where Adams submits the boy’s unreimbursed medical bills to Flo Rida and he has to pay it in full within a set period of time.

Both sides are due back in court in the fall.

Nas Accused Of Failing To Pay State Taxes In New York

Moving across the country isn’t enough to stop New York State from coming after you for back taxes.

Just ask Nas.

The legendary Queens MC is back on the hook for old tax warrants out of New York that have been lodged in his new home of California, BOSSIP has learned.

New York State’s Commissioner of Taxation and Finance registered the judgments in Los Angeles against the “If I Ruled The World Rapper,” earlier this month, according to court papers obtained by BOSSIP. The liens total a whopping $42,497.64, according to the New York State Division of Taxation.

Nas’ alleged debt stems from income he earned in 2011 and 2012.

The state clearly doesn’t mess around when it comes to collecting its due, and Nas’ court papers say that his wages, money and property could be seized without warning if he doesn’t address it.

Nas had not yet officially responded to the cases as of July 25.
