Earlier this month, an assistant principal at a public school in Corsicana, Texas, whose eye was knocked out of its socket while she tried to defuse a situation involving a student, is not only calling on the school district to do better in protecting students and staff, but she’s calling on Republican Gov. Greg Abbott to stop under-funding her district.

KWTX reported that Candra Rogers, the assistant principal a Collins Intermediate School, was airlifted to a hospital on Aug. 15 after sustaining a serious eye injury as a result of the violent confrontation with an unidentified student in an incident that has been referred to the Navarro County District Attorney’s Office and the Juvenile Probation Department, according to  Corsicana ISD.

Rogers explained her recollection of what happened in a statement published by the Corsicana Daily Sun:

On Thursday, August 15th, during lunch, I heard our behavioral teacher call on the radio to administrators for assistance. When I arrived, the teacher and students were outside the classroom. One student was holding his head, having been assaulted by the student remaining in the classroom. I entered, where the student was still irate, and found the room ransacked with overturned furniture. I knew I had to be as calm as possible, and I spoke lowly and slowly so as not to enrage him any further.

He picked up a chair and acted as if he would throw it. He finally did throw it at me, but I caught it mid-air. He picked up another chair to throw at me when another assistant principal entered the room. I used the first chair to block the second. He picked up a third and threw it at the other assistant principal. I used the initial chair to block the one he threw at her.

After blocking the chair thrown at the other assistant principal, he threw a wooden hanger at me, but I could not stop it fast enough. The hanger hit me in my right eye and knocked it out of the socket. I grabbed my face while blood was pouring out of my head and stumbled out the classroom door.

The nurse and 911 were called. I asked for my cell phone to call my husband to come get me, not realizing the extent of the damage. When paramedics arrived, they determined I would need to be airlifted to Parkland Medical Center in Dallas.

I underwent surgery as soon as possible, and doctors were able to reinsert my eye; however, they determined I had been blinded and currently believe that damage to be permanent.

Rogers went on to note that the ” tragedy affected not just my husband, my children and grandchild, my family, and my friends, but it has also negatively affected my school, my district, and my community,” but she didn’t treat the student who attacked her like he’s not a human being. In her lengthy statement, she advocated for the student to be disciplined, but she also included that “overly aggressive students need services to meet their needs.”

“Chapter 37 of our Texas Education Code, which was originally created in 1995 to help protect our marginalized students, with regard to how students are disciplined may need to be reevaluated so that no paraprofessional, teacher, or principal, simply put, no educator should ever be put in this situation,” Rogers said. “I fully understand education laws and the need for students to be educated with their peers. Chapter 37 may need to incorporate changes to address the mental, social, and emotional well-being of these students. As educators, we care about our students and their safety, but we must also care about the safety of our educational staff; our safety is important too. We should never have to fear being in a classroom with an aggressive student. Everyone’s protection is paramount!”

But the real kicker came when Rogers took the time to call out Abbott, who, along with the rest of the Republican party, has proven time and time against that he is no friend to the public school system, particularly, in the state of Texas.

“Lastly, Gov. Greg Abbott holds some accountability in the safety of our students and our staff,” Rogers said. “For years, our schools have suffered unfunded mandates, which have included pay raises. Our basic allotment which funds our day-to-day expenses have not been increased since 2019, even though we have had rising costs on absolutely everything, including new unfunded mandates. This is 2024.

“I’d like to quote a friend who gave me permission to use their words: ‘If our students don’t have what they need to be successful in Texas, this is not simply problematic, I hold that it is immoral,” she continued.

Rogers used the violent attack on her, not to condemn her juvenile attacker, but to address a larger issue. That’s how you do it!

Our schools need to be safe and our children need to be cared for even when they misbehave.

Mahisha Dellinger, the creator of the CURLS hair care brand, is setting the record straight about her appearance on Bravo’s Below Deck Med that’s led to insanely unnecessary threats of violence against her and her children.

In a statement shared exclusively with BOSSIP, she acknowledged that while some moments on the show might have portrayed her as “rude,” “demanding,” and “difficult,” they did not provide an “accurate representation” of her true character and instead perpetuated stereotypes “in ways that disparage Black women.”

What Happened On Below Deck Med?

Bravo fans poured onto social media with complaints about Mahisha’s seemingly “bossy” and “sassy” demeanor after she appeared as a guest on Below Deck Med on Aug. 12.

Upset fans slammed several questionable moments Mahisha had on the show, including one notable instance where she seemingly asked the yacht’s female crew members, Aesha Scott, and Bri Muller, to move an “eyesore” couch from the deck. In another scene, Mahisha appeared to demand that Aesha fetch her cocktail, which was just a short distance away.

In another scene, she was seen stating that caviar served to “taste like a washcloth” and in another moment, Neysla Paltsev, a friend of Dellinger’s was seen alleging that she was given a butter knife for her fish dinner when in actuality it was a fish knife.

She has since apologized for her actions.

“The confusion with the knives was silly. But the way I handled it was not OK. For that, I am truly sorry,” said Paltsev. “Although getting knives confused is not a crime, neither is being rude. But I should not have been [that rude].”

Hit the flip to see what Mahisha told BOSSIP about her appearance on the Bravo show.

Mahisha Dellinger Speaks Out On ‘Below Deck Med’ Moments, Says It Was Edited To Perpetuate Negative Stereotypes

In her statement to BOSSIP, Mahisha affirmed that in real life, she’s far from what Bravo cameras depicted.

The CURLS founder also revealed that she and her family were targeted online due to complaints from fans.

“I conduct myself, professionally or personally. Unfortunately, this portrayal has led to significant backlash, impacting my reputation, my relationships and my family; who, since the show’s airing, has faced a troubling wave of negative comments, including threats of violence and attacks on my children via social media. This is never acceptable.”

Mahisha suggested that heavy editing played a part in some of her less favorable moments on the reality TV show to paint her in a negative light as a Black woman, which she found “disheartening.”

“As a Black woman in business, I am acutely aware of the systemic challenges and marginalization that often accompany my journey,” the business owner shared. “It is disheartening to see how the media can perpetuate stereotypes and often edit content in ways that disparage Black women. They frequently present sensationalized storylines that do not reflect the full reality of the individuals involved.”

Mahisha added;

“But I know my reality, and despite this situation, I stand by me. I’m proud of who I am, who I’ve become, what I have built, what I’m still building, and the work I have done through my businesses and community initiatives to uplift, support and empower others; particularly, those from marginalized backgrounds. Every experience in our lives is designed to teach us lessons. I have learned that even in challenging moments, especially moments like this that seem almost unbearable, there is opportunity for growth, and I will use these lessons to move forward with integrity and resilience. Thank you to all who have shown support, understanding and grace in this moment. You are all greatly appreciated.”

Mahisha Dellinger Also Took To Instagram To Clear The Air

Mahisha went into further detail about the controversy surrounding her Below Deck Med appearance in an Instagram video posted on Aug.14. The entrepreneur acknowledged that while she had a few “regrettable” moments on camera, she and her friends generally had a fantastic time aboard the yacht. She revealed that during filming, she was struggling with alcohol but began a journey towards sobriety shortly after her appearance.

Mahisha expressed her gratitude to the staff for their hospitality and addressed several controversial moments from the show, reiterating that they were heavily edited and not as they appeared.

She clarified that while she did ask that the couches be moved so they could promo pictures for Bravo she expected the men onboard to move it.

“I would never expect a woman of any size to move a couch,” she said. “We got the picture but it wasn’t intended to have the beautiful ladies move the couch.”

As far as the cocktail situation, the mogul clarified that she was asking her friend Neysla to get her cocktail cheekily, not Aesha.

“I wasn’t speaking to captain Aesha,” said Mahisha. “I can have that with my friend, we know our vibe, with friends you have this different banter. I treat service people really well, I tip service people really well,” she added.

She then dug into the “caviar gate” and said that the Chef’s food was delicious and the taste of the caviar didn’t reflect poorly on him. She noted however that she could have kept the “washcloth” comment to herself.

Ultimately, the entrepreneur wants watches to be mindful that they taped three days of content that was sliced down to only 20 minutes.

“Those moments looked horrible on TV and I get that,” she said, urging people to move on.

Listen to her full statement below.

No matter how you feel about what was shown on Below Deck Med, threats of violence are never okay.

Despite the backlash, Mahisha has much to celebrate, including recently earning her doctorate.

Fans weren’t the only ones who thought Beyoncé was going to pop out for a surprise appearance at this year’s Democratic National Convention.

Veteran producers Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss were in charge of this year’s Democratic National Convention, drawing a crowd of more than 26 million people on Thursday night to watch Vice President Kamala Harris accept the presidential nomination.

While the event was filled with memorable moments and celebrity appearances, there was one big appearance that didn’t pan out–but according to the producers, it was never supposed to.

Kirshner and Weiss spoke to The Hollywood Reporter after the convention about how they pulled it off and, of course, what really happened with that Beyoncé rumor. According to Kirshner, even his staff believe the rumors, but he insisted that Kamala was more than enough on her own.

“We never put out anything about Beyoncé,” Kirshner explained to the outlet. “We denied it every time the media asked us — even though, by the way, people on my staff didn’t believe me. I kept getting texts from news organizations saying, ‘When is Beyoncé coming out?’ But come on, we have the biggest star, the Democratic nominee for president. Why would we overshadow that?”

Weiss added, “This is the internet taking on a life of its own and people taking something as fact — literally to the point that people in my booth are saying, “Is she coming? You can tell me.” And I would say, “I have no knowledge she’s coming.” And they would say, “No knowledge? So there’s something to know!” It was pretty crazy. But she wasn’t coming. In the end even TMZ had to issue an apology.”

The pair also spoke on how they managed to balance the celebrities that did appear onstage versus the politicians, always prioritizing the task at hand.

“We’re smart enough to know that what we’re there to do is get the message out about the Democratic side,” Kirshner said. “The celebrities help us do that for sure, but we have to keep the ultimate goal in mind. We had Pink [on Thursday]. She was amazing. But it was Pink with a beautiful song, not Pink flying in from the rafters. She was singing the right thing at the right time and it fit the moment beautifully.”

As for their favorite political moment at the convention?

“Michelle [Obama] killed it, obviously. And Doug [Emhoff]’s speech. It was so warm and human,” Kirshner concluded.

Megan Thee Stallion is finally bringing her new relationship into the limelight…but she might have done so on accident.

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, the rapper surprised fans by posting a video on TikTok casually debuting her new man. It seems like the clip was meant to be kept in her drafts, though, as the video was very quickly deleted after she posted it.

But, of course, it didn’t take long for Meg’s followers to get ahold of the footage and start circulating it online, seemingly confirming Meg is in a relationship with NBA player Torrey Craig.

The now-deleted TikTok shows the “Mamushi” rapper laid up in bed with the Chicago Bulls star as the two of them take part in the “most likely challenge, couple’s edition.” The pair had the same answers to a lot of questions–like who is more likely to get arrested and who needs the most attention–but one thing they couldn’t agree on is who said, “I love you” first.

Still, this seems like pretty clear confirmation that they have dropped the L bomb already, so things between the two seem pretty serious.

With how quickly Megan deleted the video, it doesn’t look like she’s in a rush to take her new relationship public.

Prior to Craig, the star was most recently linked to Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku, whom she was spotted with in 2023 following her breakup with Pardison Fontaine. Meg and Pardi had quite the messy split, which could be part of the reason she’s not rushing to have another public romance.

After Meg seemingly accused her ex-boyfriend of cheating on her in her track “Cobra,” Fontaine followed up with his own diss track. On his song, “Thee Person,” Pardison claims he was planning on proposing to his then-girlfriend before realizing her alleged lies, accusing her of lying both to him and to Gayle King in her tell-all interview about being shot by Tory Lanez in 2020.

With history like that, you can’t blame Megan for seemingly wanting to keep her new relationship private for as long as possible.

LeBron & Bronny James2023 McDonald's All American Game

LeBron James is opening up about his future playing alongside his son Bronny James with the Lakers and revealing the ground rules he’s presented.

After years of LeBron James telling us he wants to play with his sons on the court, his eldest Bronny is officially a Laker.

Now, as basketball season draws near, fans are wondering about the father-son duo’s dynamic on the court.

According to ESPN, LeBron James is already setting expectations with Bronny that professionalism is a must. In a preview for a special edition of The Shop, the NBA superstar said that Bronny is not allowed to call him “dad” on the court.

“[He] cannot call me dad in the workplace,” said LeBron. “Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I could be dad again [and] in the car if we ride together, at home I could be dad,”

“He got to call me like ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron’ or, you know, ‘GOAT’ if he want to. It’s up to him.”

The James family has a standard to uphold based on professionalism and Bron isn’t willing to budge on that aspect. Not only that but Bronny yelling “Dad” across the court won’t do him any favors in his quest to be his own man.

“We cannot be running down the court, and he’d be like, ‘Dad, push the ball up! Dad, I’m open! Dad, come on!’” LeBron said.

LeBron James will embark on his 21st NBA season after signing a luxurious $104 million two-year extension with the Lakers. His massive extension comes shortly after Bronny signed a fully guaranteed $7.9 million four-year contract.

Everything stayed in-house as Klutch Sports agent Rich Paul handled both deals for the King and Prince of Los Angeles.

Patrick Mahomes Jr. & Sr. - AFC Championship - Kansas City Chiefs v Baltimore Ravens

Patrick Mahomes Sr. has avoided a 10-year jail sentence after pleading guilty in his third driving while intoxicated case.

As a star athlete, no matter how hard you fight to control your clean image some things are just out of your hands including the actions of family members. And for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes that’s exactly the case as his father Patty Mahomes Sr. is yet again drumming up negative headlines.

ESPN reports that in April, Texas prosecutors charged Mahomes Sr. with felony DWI 3rd or more in Smith County and with this being his third driving while intoxicated charge, he faced up to 10 years in prison.

According to the outlet, Mahomes Sr. avoided a jury trial in Smith County after pleading guilty to the charges Tuesday and agreed to serve five years on probation with “intense” supervision for the first year.

Formal sentencing has been set for September 23.

In 2018, Mahomes Sr. also caught a lucky break and served just 40 days in jail on the weekends for a DUI. Bleacher Report also reported that in 2016 he was charged with public intoxication during a game between TCU and Texas Tech.

At this point, Patrick Mahomes Sr. should have the resources to hire a driver to take him anywhere in the world he wants to go. Maybe he should consider that.

Considering that he’s one of the prettiest actors in Hollywood, it’s quite the plot twist that Keith’s upcoming movie is Netflix’s Uglies about a futuristic world that imposes cosmetic surgery at 16 as a right of passage.

“Basically what happens is, you’re afforded a surgery when you turn 16-years-old so you can look any way you want to look,” director McG told Netflix. “It’s the belief of the society that if we all look the way we want, you can eradicate conflict.”

Check out the trailer below:

Based on Scott Westerfeld’s best-selling novel, Uglies stars Powers, Joey King, Chase Stokes, Brianne Tju, Jan Luis Castellanos, Charmin Lee, and Laverne Cox.

“The film’s really about beauty as interior,” McG continued. “It’s a commentary on what we’re experiencing today, where so many people can’t just take a photograph and post it on social media.

You’ve got to put it through the filter, you’ve got to edit it, you’ve got to do the thing to present this idealized version of beauty. And this is a moment to say, ‘Take a deep breath, work on your inner game, love people for who they are, and accept yourself for who you are,’ and strangely, it’s a much more fruitful way to live.”

Uglies releases globally on Netflix Sept. 13, 2024.

Fans of a famed talk show host have been wondering “how she doiiiiin?”and now there’s good news to report! Wendy Williams was “bubbly” and “upbeat” as she made her first appearance in over a year while shopping at a holistic health store in Newark, New Jersey.

Wendy Williams Posed For A Picture With Victor Bowman, The Son Of Dr. Sebi

According to sources who spoke with Page Six, late last week, the 60-year-old former radio host visited Bolingo Balance in Newark, a health store owned by Victor Bowman, the son of the late herbalist healer Dr. Sebi. In a picture shared to Bowman’s Facebook page on Aug. 19, the star, who ended her iconic Wendy Williams Show in June 2022 due to health issues, smiled and appeared happy as she posed for a snap with Bowman, holding a few items from her haul.

Williams radiated happiness, sporting her signature highlighted brown hair with bangs. She donned a denim romper decorated with large roses, complemented by chunky white boots and a pop of pink lipstick.

Sources close to the Ask Wendy author revealed to PageSix that Williams was “sharp, upbeat, and very bubbly” during her store visit. She even took the time to sit down with Bowman to discuss some health products offered in his store. Her son, Kevin Hunter Jr. also accompanied her as she shopped around.

Fans Have Been Worried About Williams’ Health Over The Last Several Years

Wendy’s vibrant and cheerful sighting contrasts sharply with the somber image from her last public appearance in the Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? The docu-series, which aired after the cancellation of her show in 2022 and the start of her court-appointed guardianship, offered a raw glimpse into her struggles with alcohol abuse and severe health issues.

One poignant moment showcased the former daytime talk show host without a wig and with minimal makeup, appearing frail and unrecognizable while speaking with Angela White (formerly Blac Chyna). Her speech seemed impaired and incoherent as she chatted with the famous star in her New York City apartment. The startling scene left many fans shocked by the former Hot Topics host’s condition. Williams’ last public sighting before this recent appearance was in March 2023, when she was seen walking back to her New York City apartment in an all-black outfit, with a solemn expression.

However, during her recent outing at Bolingo Balance, an employee claimed that Williams had much more energy and pep in her step. The insider said the media maven was “engaging but wasn’t as familiar with what we do here, so her son was more explaining things.”

According to the employee, Bowman gifted Williams a selection of holistic products, including iron-rich herbs like sarsaparilla, contribo, and bottano oil, which are noted for their skin benefits. Williams also received capsules from Dr. Sebi’s son, known for their potential to support hormonal balance and mental wellness.

The star also “talked about circulation improvement but didn’t want to get into too much detail on their first meeting and plans to come back in the near future,” another Bolingo Balance worker noted.

Williams Has Faced Several Health Battles

Williams has strived to overcome several health issues over the last year.

Celebrity Sightings in New York City - February 18, 2020

In 2023, representatives for the former Hot 97 radio host revealed that she was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Aphasia, a neurogenic language disorder, can occur following a traumatic brain injury or dementia. The condition can disrupt the left hemisphere of the brain, which is responsible for language and communication abilities, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association noted. Most common in individuals post-stroke, FTD is a form of brain disease that can drastically change the behavior, cognitive function, and personality of those affected.

Additionally, Williams has been battling lymphedema, a condition she was diagnosed with in 2019. The extreme disorder causes swelling, usually in the arms or legs, due to a build-up of lymph fluid when the lymphatic system, responsible for draining excess fluid and waste from tissues, becomes damaged or blocked. Symptoms include swelling, a feeling of heaviness or tightness, restricted movement, and skin changes.

This year, the entertainment legend openly discussed her struggles with lymphedema in her Lifetime docu-series during a teary-eyed confessional.

“This is lymphedema, and I can only feel now 2%. Do you see what this looks like?” Williams said as the camera panned down to show her swollen feet.

“There’s no cure for this. There’s no pill for this!” she cried, before adding;

“I should be in a wheelchair, you know?”

We’re glad to see Wendy Williams in better spirits and we hope those Dr. Sebi products help her out on her wellness journey.

Atlanta rapper Lil Baby is behind bars after being arrested in Las Vegas for illegal gun possession without a permit.

Lil Baby was one of many celebrities in Las Vegas over the weekend celebrating James Harden’s 35th birthday. And while he should’ve been celebrating in casinos, TMZ reports that Baby’s Vegas getaway was derailed after he ended up in handcuffs.

The rapper was allegedly caught carrying a concealed weapon at Encore nightclub without a permit.

In Clark County, Nevada this is a felony, but it’s worth noting Baby has a registered permit in the state of Georgia. Local authorities are keeping the details to a minimum but they revealed to TMZ that the rapper is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.

Baby’s lawyers Drew Findling and David Chesnoff are on the case and working hard to uncover the truth.

“To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit. On his behalf we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas.” the lawyers said in a statement to TMZ.

This could be a simple mix-up, but the question of the gun’s origin could complicate matters.

Well, well, well, Jasmine is back ruffling feathers again on yet another episode of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta key art and singles

Source: Courtesy / Paramount

It’s no secret that Kirk’s baby mama has been shaking the tables plenty so far this season — and this week things hit a new low when Karlie Redd introduces Yandy to Jasmine for the very first time. We’ve got an exclusive sneak preview clip from Tuesday’s all-new episode of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.

Check it out below:

Yikes on trikes! We have to give it to Yandy because one thing about her — she is always going to stand ten toes down for her friends. There wasn’t about to be no badmouthing of the Frosts around her. What do you think about what Jasmine had to say? Is she being closed-minded about how much care Rasheeda has given her son, or is Yandy being naive about her friend?

This is such a tough situation to air out on reality tv, but at the same time it’s definitely a real life scenario. Unfortunately, way too many people can probably relate to all of these ladies.

Also, Karlie Redd is never scared to make a messy introduction right?! What did you think about that?

A brand new episode of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta airs Tuesday, August 27 at 8pm EST on MTV.

Will you be watching?

On this episode of The Adult ‘Hood podcast, Lexi Felder and Alex “Alejandro” Ford run down their list of HBCU homecoming do’s and don’ts. The HBCU grads swap stories from past homecomings and dive into some of the unspoken rules of this time-honored tradition. Lexi, who went to Clark Atlanta, and Alejandro, who went to Hampton, have been to their fair share of homecomings at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) — a spirited celebration of Black excellence and a chance for students, alumni and the community to come together.

The elder millennials reflect on their homecoming experiences and how the culture has evolved. What hasn’t changed over the years is how they enjoy their favorite foods — especially at the tailgate. “As a geriatric millennial, the older I get, the more I realize that I can’t really eat what I love like I used to without experiencing occasional heartburn,” Alejandro says. With Tums Gummy Bites, they don’t have to give up their favorite foods. “Growing up I used to see Tums commercials all the time,” says Lexi. “Now it’s wild because I’m a geriatric millennial and I’m adding it to my grocery list.” They keep Tums Gummy Bites around for fast relief from occasional heartburn, upset stomach and indigestion.

The high school “band geeks” reminisce about their HBCUs and bond over relatable moments like running into exes and being the plus one at the tailgate. After years of going to HBCU homecomings, they go over some of the do’s and don’ts of this annual celebration.

1. If you run into a past relationship or situationship, introduce yourself to their significant other first.

The Adult ‘Hood hosts agree that a clear introduction can break the ice and prevent awkward situations.

“If there’s somebody that you had a relationship with, you must present yourself to their boo first,” Alejandro says. “Some people want to talk to the person that they have history with and ignore the significant other, which could potentially cause problems on both ends.”

2. You don’t have to connect with everybody.

Homecomings are a chance to reconnect with old friends and meet new people. That said, you don’t have to be best friends with everyone.

“Sometimes people feel like they need to connect with you beyond y’all talking for three minutes,” says Alejandro. “Normalize good conversations, good moments with people, and keep it moving.”

“You don’t have to say, ‘We should hang out!’ You don’t have to exchange numbers. What you can say is, ‘I’ll see you next homecoming,’” Lexi adds.

3. Don’t enter a tailgate unless you were invited by someone in the tent.

The rules of the tailgate are simple. Don’t get caught in a tent uninvited. There’s a way to navigate your way to a plate of food without getting the third degree.

“The rule as it was explained to me is, you must be invited by someone in the tent who deems you worthy,” says Alejandro. “Or sometimes people will bring you a plate outside of the tailgate.”

“I would say don’t go into those tents if you’re not a part of the organization or somebody from that organization didn’t invite you,” Lexi adds.

4. Don’t rep your HBCU at another school’s homecoming — unless you want the attention.

Wearing your school pride on your sleeve at another school’s homecoming will get you plenty of attention — if that’s what you’re into, Alejandro says. The Hampton grad prefers to keep his outfit neutral when he’s homecoming-hopping. Walking around in your school’s merch is an open invitation to discuss your alma mater on repeat. “You could get away with a hat,” he suggests.

Also on this episode, Lexi and Alejandro discuss intense school rivalries and which homecomings they’ll be at this year. Listen to the full episode above.

The Adult ‘Hood podcast explores the challenges of adulthood from the perspective of older millennials. High school friends Lexi Felder and Alex “Alejandro” Ford share personal stories and insights that speak to those who are still figuring life out. Tune into new episodes for relatable conversations, witty anecdotes and a healthy dose of humor as these geriatric millennials tackle the ups and downs of “adulting” in a world that’s constantly changing.

Kamala Harris

Source: Gary Friedman / Getty

Vice President Kamala Harris has a very good chance of becoming the very first woman, Black woman, and woman of Asian descent to take the oath of office as the President of the United States of America. Sure, much of that potential is based on the historic fundraising and enthusiasm shown by the Democratic base but there’s more to it than that. Proof of VP Harris’ proximity to victory can also be seen in the insulting, pathetic, and desperate plays that the right is employing to keep her out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20500.

According to reporting by The Independent, a radical conservative organization called The National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA) has challenged Harris’ eligibility for officer based, in part, on the notorious 1857Dred Scott v Sandford decision made by the Supreme Court which ruled that a slave was not a citizen and thus had no rights. Especially not rights that would allow he or she to become POTUS. NFRA argues that VP Harris’ parents were not American citizens at the time of her birth.

“It is the will of this convention that only candidates who meet the natural born-citizenship standard, interpreted through an originalist and strict constructionist standard, be placed on the 2024 Republican presidential primary ballots,” the document states

None of this means anything. Kamala Harris is lawfully the Vice President of the United States and she is a lawful candidate for President in 2024. However, this is a shining example of just how shook these folks are that a Black woman is about to take America’s Iron Throne. Dracarys for them all.
