Listen, it’s hard out here for us 20-somethings. Not only are we dealing with the ups and downs that come with being a human being, but the financial problems we’re facing is something we didn’t even create.

According to the Business Insider, some of millennials’ most critical money problems are student loan debt, inflating living costs, unexpected expenses, and needing to save more for life milestones. But it’s nearly impossible to get ahead when you have to solve problems that aren’t even your own. Like being born in a crappy economy.

That’s the reason why the sugar daddy (and momma) industry is on the rise these days. One of the most poppin’ sugar daddy sites right now is Seeking Arrangement.

The site’s founder Alexis Germany, told Big Think:

Some of the sugar daddies have that ‘white knight’ scenario where they really want to be helping somebody and saving them from their debt — or whatever you want to call it.” It’s not quite prostitution, and Seeking Arrangement prohibits the direct exchange of money. Babies can have up to four daddies with whom they establish boundaries.

Getting the right sugar daddy or mama has proven to be the answer to many young people’s financial issues. And what if one of your favorite celebs was in the business of funding your life?

I mean, Hov has the coins. He’s a billionaire now. Rihanna does too. She just made the Forbes list of richest self-made women. Need your life funded? Take this QUIZ to see which self-made superstar will do the funding.

Witnesses Corroborate Jussie Smollett’s Characterization Of Persons Of Interest In Alleged Race Hate Incident

The recent release of several hundred pages of internal documents related to the alleged racist attack against actor Jussie Smollett’s has raised questions about law enforcement’s narrative of the case after some witness statements appear to match the “Empire” actor’s story.

Chicago Police released more than 400 pages of documents earlier this week that detail it’s handling of Smollett’s case, and at least two eyewitnesses told police that they saw men who fit Smollett’s descriptions of the suspects loitering near the scene around the time of the alleged incident, according to the documents, which were obtained by BOSSIP.

A hotel security guard told police that he saw three men in dark clothing – and one of the men was white and wearing a facemask – near the scene around the time of the incident, the case’s papers state. And another resident who was walking a dog told police that she saw a white man smoking a cigarette with a rope poking out from underneath his coat. The witness said the man appeared to be waiting for something, and his clothes appeared wet.

Cops accused Smollett of staging the alleged attack to help advance his career and later charged Smollett with making a false police report. The District Attorney’s Office eventually dropped the charges.

Smollett and his legal team weren’t aware of the details in the documents because the District Attorney’s Office and his lawyers did not exchange evidence before Smollett’s charges were ultimately dropped, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told BOSSIP.

Nevertheless, our source said Smollett’s story hasn’t wavered, and while his camp isn’t worried about his career, there is a concern that his community and advocacy work has been overshadowed by the case.

“It got political and it got bigger than him,” the source said. “It’s the years of advocacy, the things he’s been doing for his community and people of color that goes away and it’s not fair.”

The Beyhive damn near fainted earlier this week when it was announced that Beyonce‘s first ever film, Carmen: A Hip Hopera, is heading to Netflix on Saturday, June 1st. It’s hard to believe that the Robert Townsend directed flick came out on MTV almost 20 years ago!

And it was the first time we got to see 19-year old Bey show her acting chops and spit a couple of bars.

Hella tours, hella hits, one marriage, and three children later, Beyonce is still snatching our edges with every move she makes.  In 2019, she’s revered as one of the greatest performers to ever grace the stage. But in 2001, she was just a teen branching off from her from her budding music career in order to find her voice. And that, she did.

2001 was a pivotal year in lots of ways for many people. The devastating September 11th terrorist attacks took place in New York City, changing the face of America as we knew it. That same year, the first Ipod was released, and Wikipedia made its online debut.

Bill Clinton was leaving office, Hillary Clinton was sworn into senate, while Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake rocked their infamous Denim on Denim couple’s look to the American Music Awards.

But besides starring in Carmen, here’s what the Bootylicious Queen Bey was doing in 2001.

Last time we heard from NEXT lead singer R.L, he was not too pleased about the way classic R&B songs and groups were being treated in this Internet age. He even confronted Internet sensation Nicholas Frazier over his “Why You Always Lying” video, a parody of NEXT’s biggest single “Too Close”, saying that he’s not too happy about someone turning his “life’s work” into a joke.

R.L. recently stopped by to clear up some of the wildest headlines BOSSIP has written about him, and his sentiments about the lack of respect that the culture has for 90’s R&B groups hasn’t really changed. The “We Can’t Be Friends” singer also opened up about filing for bankruptcy and new music he wrote dedicated to his beautiful baby girl Rory Lane.

Check it out in the video above.

Lovely Mimi On Headline Heat

Lovely Mimi is always a big ball of fun no matter what setting she’s in. Folks have had lots to say about the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star ever since she joined the cast of the VH1 show, but Mimi has remained unbothered and true to her rambunctious personality.

The famed nail tech stop by to clear up some of the wildest headlines BOSSIP has written about her and she didn’t shy away from the hard topics: like whether or not she wants to be Black, or her cheap, saline water breasts that she recently got redone. Catch Lovely Mimi at one of two of the nail salons she owns in Atlanta, Georgia.

See what else she had to say about butt jobs and LHH fights in the video above.

Slim & Mike Of 112 On Headline Heat

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from R&B group 112, but half of the popular quartet is back like they never left. Slim and Mike stopped by to clear up some of the wildest headlines BOSSIP has written about them, and they had no other choice but to keep it all the way real. Did Diddy really jerk them in their deal? And why did Darren and Q go their separate ways from the group? Check out the full video above to see what Mike and Slim had to say.

It seems unreal that the late, great Notorious B.I.G. has been out of our lives for over 20 years now. Today would’ve been Big’s 47th birthday, and needless to say, he’s still one of the most revered artists in hip hop and music history, period. It’s almost magical how much he accomplished in such a short amount of time in the industry.

@FemaleHipHop: He released 2 classic albums & he made “Junior Mafia” successful. Lil Kim was one of the artist that biggie took under his wing & she is now one of the greatest female rappers of all time

But what people remember most about the Brooklyn legend is that he was one hell of an emcee.

@MissyElliott: Biggie Smalls was way ahead of his time! He made us visualize what he rhymed about! He is a rare breed emcee! Only 1 Biggie!

@mackwilds: Yo, R.I.P. to one of the best who’s ever done it, Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace. Bumpin’ Biggie all day!!!!!

Biggie’s lyrics and flow were such a cultural force that fans young and old still bump his music like it just dropped this week. The Brooklyn legend did so much during his short time in the rap game that he’s probably your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper and definitely an all-time great in any debate. In a 2015 Pusha T wrote an Op-Ed for Rolling Stone expressing his love and respect for the Notorious one:

“I believe the Notorious B.I.G. was the greatest rapper who’s ever lived. I remember in ’94, when Ready to Die came out, I was in 11th grade, living in my mother’s house in Virginia. There was a frenzy at my high school, arguing and talking about that album. We used to spend hours in the car, reciting his raps, trying to figure out what in the hell made him veer off in this way or that way. Some rappers just say a punchline, and it’s like, “OK, we get it.” But Big delved deep. He was a master painter with words. And his flow was just so effortless. I mean, I think I’m an awesome writer, but my bars still sound like bars. Big had all these intricacies, all these colors, all these witty things – and it didn’t sound like a rap. It was a conversation.”

To honor Biggie on what would be his 47th trip around the sun, join us in acknowledging some of the greatest bars Christopher Wallace ever spit.

Viola Davis Talks Lack Of Black Hair Care Professionals In Hollywood

As WE do what needs to be done to increase diversity in film and television, there continues to be an extreme lack of melanin behind the scenes. Viola Davis, for one, isn’t entertaining Hollywood’s incompetence.

In a recent interview with Ebony, the Academy Award-winning actress said she specifically hires beauticians who know how to do Black hair. When asked about dealing with the lack of hair care professionals who can cater to Black women in Hollywood, she shouted out her stylist and said she doesn’t depend on others to get her tresses right.

“That has not been my narrative, lately, in terms of hair because I refuse it. I reject it… I don’t think that people understand our hair…they don’t understand that we’re different, but yet, the same. What I find is hair is something that a lot of people don’t honor when you do film,” Davis explained, adding that she hires HER OWN stylists to make sure her hair is done properly.

Watch her speak on the issue below.

She also gets into what she meant when she said “regular Black women” are what’s missing from film.
