Tank has once again caused quite a stir for the rigid-minded sexual beings of the world.

The singer recently went on Angela Yee‘s podcast “Lip Service” and the topic of men having oral sex with other men came up. During the discussion, Tank gave an example of a guy giving head to another guy:

“He sucked a di** once, and then he’s like, ‘I’m not sure if I liked it or not. Let me try it again.’ And then he says, ‘You know what, it’s not for me. Don’t like the taste,’ see what Im saying?”

Tank concluded by saying, “It doesn’t mean he’s gay, it means he sucked di** twice.”

Naturally, the homophobic delegates of Twitter and Instagram weren’t happy with Tank’s comments.

One user wrote, “The ni**a tank is a f*g no if ands or buts about it.”

Another person wrote, “Tank is gay & anyone who agrees with him is gayer.”

Clearly, some folks didn’t take the time to watch the whole interview where Tank talked about his many sexual experiences with women and how he pleases his wife. They just went straight to “gay.”

But along with the homophobia came the rigid ideas about sexuality spewed by people who don’t consider themselves homophobic.

One Twitter user wrote, “Tank is gay. No I don’t have anything against gays but there’s just no way a straight man is gonna go suck some penis to see if he like it, sir what?”

Some folks couldn’t wrap their head around men having a sexual experience with another man and not being labeled gay. All other sexual preferences on the spectrum — whether that be heterosexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality or any form of queerness — were quickly erased.

It’s unfortunate because contrary to some people’s belief, this tendency to only label people as “straight” or “gay” is still under the umbrella of homophobia. It leaves no room for two consenting adults to explore pleasure in different ways that might be linked to someone of your shared gender. A man cannot explore oral sex with another man or explore dildo play with his women without the fear of being labeled “gay” right from the start.

On top of all this, folks haven’t even considered the huge industry of gay-for-pay male sex workers who identify as straight but get paid to have sex with other men. Meanwhile, women can have sex with other women for the male erotic gaze and folks can better digest the possibility that these women still identify as straight.

Same old homophobic, patriarchal B.S.

Tank isn’t tripping though. He continues to be an ally to the queer community, particularly the gay men community. He responded to all the hoopla around his “Lip Service” video in an Instagram clip, explaining:

“I said what I said, ya’ll so godd*mn homophobic. You got to watch the whole clip. In any event, homophobia is real, let me just tell you that. It’s just as real as racism, classism, all these things, and just as damaging. And it plagues our community the worst. This can’t be used as a negative. You can’t use a human being’s existence as a negative. We’re going through enough sh**.”

You can’t be as big as Will Smith without taking a few L’s throughout your career.

While The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star has had major critical and box office success throughout his career, the 51-year-old has also had some bombs.

A recent fail is his action thriller Gemini Man.

[embedded content]

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Ang Lee-directed movie faces a loss of $75 million or more after opening to $20.5 million domestically from October 11-13 and finishing Sunday with a worldwide gross of $118.7 million. The movie was made on a budget of around $140 million after tax rebates and incentives. It also took an additional $100 million-plus to market.

The movie follows Smith as an elite assassin who must face off against his younger self. Leading up to the release, anticipation was building, particularly because Lee made use of groundbreaking de-aging and high frame rate technology. However, when negative reviews started pouring in by late September, the movie’s momentum died down.

This isn’t the first time a Will Smith movie has bombed at the box office, and it’s not always because of negative reviews. His other 2019 release, Aladdin, received mixed reviews and ended up being his highest grossing worldwide movie ever.

Many of his other bombs could be because of bad marketing, bad storytelling or a variation of the two. Hit the flip to find out what five other Will Smith movies did worse than Gemini Man at the worldwide box office, according to Box Office Mojo.

Today is Snoop Dogg‘s favorite day of the year. No, not 4/20, it’s his birthday.

The legendary rapper is celebrating his 43rd birthday and we can’t believe he’s been in the game for over two decades. Snoop managed to expand his brand from a gang-affiliated California rapper, to America’s favorite uncle.

His marijuana advocacy hasn’t hurt his career, either. In fact, Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop Lion, built his empire around being a super stoner. The self-proclaimed Rastafarian once admitted to Jimmy Kimmel  that he smokes up to 80 joints a day.

Snoop is an award-winning rapper, actor, dad, and all around fun personality. We’re glad to call him our Uncle Snoop. Check out our list of reasons why Snoop is the coolest guy ever…

The festivities jumped off on Tuesday night with a live performance honoring the 20th Anniversary of iconic rap artist Yasiin Bey’s,‘ Black on Both Sides’ album. Sprite brought the Fader Fort to Atlanta, Pink Sweat$ and Lion Babe hosting as headliner for R&B night. Because the party never ends, Atlanta United hosted the official A3C Kickoff Party at The Gathering Spot later that night.

Wednesday at The Fader Fort, guests gathered at Center Stage for their ‘Women in Hip Hop’ concert headlined by our fave hottie Megan Thee Stallion, CHIKA and Tokyo Jetz.

The idea for “Be Still Moses” was spearheaded by Steep Canyon Rangers’ producer Michael Selverne. His plan: contrast Woody Platt’s bluegrass-flavored baritone with the timeless vocal arrangements brought by Boyz II Men. Thanks to legendary musical director Michael Bearden, a close friend of Selverne, the connection was made. Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union continue to demonstrate supportive Black parenting by defending their kids to the fullest. This week wasn’t any different when a social media post from Wade received some backlash.

The ex-NBA baller recently posted a photo on his Instagram stories that included his 12-year-old kid Zion, Gabrielle Union, and their 11-month-old baby Kaavia. Wade captioned the picture “My girls.”

Wade hasn’t expressed why he captioned the photo “my girls,” but clearly some people weren’t happy with how he labeled Zion.

One Twitter user wrote, “Dwayne Wade is a disgrace. How u call ur son a girl lol wow” while another wrote, “This agenda man Smh & then Dwayne Wade! Look what this world is doing to black men!”

Another person tweeted Wade’s photo with the question “What ya’ll think about this?” Well, Miss Union had time for this one. She responded:

Looks like love to me. I truly hope that everyone gets the love, support and hugs they deserve. Also Kaav ain’t with the dumb sh**. Peace & Blessings good people.”

And that’s that.

This is not the first time Union and Wade have fiercely supported their kids. Back in April, Union and Wade stepped out with Zion to the 11th annual Miami Beach Pride parade. Various photos were shared to Wade’s Instagram story, according to People, with Zion sported a big smile along with their 17-year-old brother Zaire, their little sister Kaavia, and Union.

The U.K. production of The Color Purple has been steeped in controversy after old homophobic tweets from the lead actress Oluwaseyi “Semi” Omooba resurfaced. She once wrote on Facebook, “I do not believe you can be born gay, and I do not believe homosexuality is right.” When she refused to apologize for her statements, she was let go from the production of The Color Purple and her agency. She proceeded to sue her former agency, Michael Garrett Associates, for religious discrimination. The ironic point of the whole situation is the character Omooba was meant to play, Celie, is known to be a queer character.

Now, the author of the book in which the play is based, Alice Walker, is speaking out about Omooba’s firing. According to Shadow and Act, Walker defended Omooba’s dismissal from the U.K. production of her classic 1982 novel of the same name.

“It is safe to say, after a frightful life serving and obeying abusive men, who raped in place of ‘making love,’ my grandmother, like Celie, was not attracted to men,” Walker said. “She was, in fact, very drawn to my grandfather’s lover, a beautiful woman who was kind to her, the only grown person who ever seemed to notice how remarkable and creative she was. In giving Celie the love of this woman, in every way love can be expressed, I was clear in my intention to demonstrate that she too, like all of us, deserved to be seen, appreciated, and deeply loved by someone who saw her as whole and worthy.”

When addressing Omooba’s past remarks, Walker said:

“Playing the role of Celie while not believing in her right to be loved, or to express her love in any way she chooses, would be a betrayal of women’s right to be free. As an elder, I urge all of us to think carefully about what I am saying, even as you, Oluwaseyi Omooba, sue the theatre company for voiding your contract.”

Welp…

The legend has spoken. Time will tell if Omooba will get the message.

“One Chicago” Crossover Episodes Airs Oct. 16 At 8 P.M. EST On NBC

The creator behind the TV shows “Chicago Med,” Chicago Fire” and Chicago P.D.” said this week’s crossover episodes have a “really scary” storyline that could happen in real life.

“One Chicago” creator Dick Wolf said Wednesday night’s three-hour event about a flesh-eating virus plaguing the Windy City would shock viewers because it’s a crisis that’s within the realm of possibility.

“It’s basically the same primal fear as “Jaws” or “The Birds” – it’s nature run amok,” Wolf said. “It’s scary.”

Wolf said flesh-eating bacteria are in nature and recalled last summer’s spate of cases involving people who caught it after swimming at the beach.

The executive producer also revealed his own brush with superbugs: last year he said doctors swabbed a spot he thought was infected for strep and MRSA viruses.

“I said I haven’t been in a hospital,” Wolf told BOSSIP. (The doctor) “said, ‘It’s out.’”

This week’s episode sees the casts of “One Chicago” franchises “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.,” and “Chicago Med” join forces to save the city from the potential pandemic.

“All I can say is stay tuned,” Wolf added. “There’s really good stuff coming up. The crossover, I think, will scare a lot of people.”

Wolf, whose other primetime series “Law & Order: SVU” is the longest-running TV show in U.S. history, also revealed what he believes has helped his shows’ longevity: “The writing,” he said. “It’s always the writing.”
