Drake did not have the best start to the week after he got booed on stage at the Camp Flog Gnaw music festival in L.A.

The music festival, which was started by Tyler, The Creator, featured such artists like Solange, Brockhampton, DaBaby and YG. It was revealed that a surprise guest would take the stage towards the end of the festival and many fans believed it would be Frank Ocean. However, they were in for a surprise when they got everyone other than Mr. Ocean.

According to witnesses talking to Complex, the surprises began at 10 p.m. on Sunday starting with A$AP Rocky coming out to perform two songs. Then, Lil Uzi Vert followed with two of his own songs. “Everyone was into it, but people were definitely talking about getting Frank out there,” one fan, Alejandro Cruz, said.

Finally, Drake came out and according to witnesses, people were excited at first. But this is when they thought he was only going to do two songs like the rest of the guests. “People were hyped when he first came out, and shocked, too,” Cruz said. “Because no one was really expecting Drake to be there.”

However, when Drake kept playing one more song after one more song, people started getting impatient. “I would say the reaction got worse the longer he stayed on,” said one attendee named Breeana Gonzalez. This is win the boos heightened because again, some people thought there was still time for Frank Ocean to make an appearance.

Despite the disappointment, some people were still hype for Drake. According to a tweet from Tyler the Creator, “MOSTLY EVERYONE WAS HAVING A GREAT TIME, THOSE SH**S IN THE FRONT AREA WERE THE ONES BEING MAD RUDE, WHICH, I CAN SEE WHY, BUT, NAH, FU** THAT, YALL REPRESENTED ME AND FLOG TO MY GUEST AND MADE US LOOK SOOO ENTITLED AND TRASH.”

Tyler seemed to still have a good time, however.

Like a REALLY good time.

He’s a stan.

Guess the Drake haters will just have to deal.

Khloe Kardashian and French Montana

Source: Justin Paludipan / Splash News / Splash News

French Montana has carved a special lane for himself in hip hop that no one will be able to imitate or duplicate. The self-proclaimed Coke Boy started out as a gangster, street rapper from the Bronx who was all about money and music. He also happened to be married at the time to wife Deen Kharbouch.

But in 2012, Karim Kharbouch’s whole life changed when Diddy signed him to Bad Boy records. And as the hits rose up the charts, so did French’s popularity with the ladies. @QueeenMinaa tweeted: If you see me off Twitter for more than 5 days that mean that French Montana got a girlfriend and it’s not me so I’ve isolated myself to mourn probably.

Before ladies loved cool French, he was a married man to Deen, whom he wed in 2007. The couple had separated by 2012, and their divorce was finalized in 2014. They also have a son who was born in 2010.

But don’t get it twisted. French hasn’t been thirsting for love at all since his divorce. His dating roster is legit enough to compare to other emcees who’ve been in the game twice as long as long as him. And he’s well aware of how the ladies feel about him. French once tweeted, “Ladies love me.. I wanna love yall back. Juuuuheeeeaaarrrrd.”

What trips most people out is the caliber of women that French has pulled over the years. Everyone from Khloe Kardashian to Sanaa Lathan have had a piece of the coke boy. Khloe’s relationship with French was hot and heavy for a while, until her then husband, Lamar Odom overdosed in a brothel and needed his wife back. On an episode of Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons, Khlo revealed, “It’s nothing against French. I just think I don’t want a boyfriend. I jumped into something because I was just, like, lonely and destructive. But now I’m like, I just want to be alone.”

Obviously that hasn’t slowed the Bad Boy down. As Karim takes his 34th trip around the sun today, let’s take a look back at all the ladies in Hollywood that he’s been boo’d up with.

The two were spotted out on a few dates earlier this year, but but according to Evelyn, they broke up around April.

Netflix continues to strengthen their comedy brand with an upcoming show called Astronomy Club: The Sketch Show

The show, which is produced by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, will debut next month and already the cast is bringing the laughs with a newly released sketch.

In a clip, the all-Black cast tackles the movie trope of the magical negro, or in other words, that Black character in a movie that usually doesn’t have a storyline of their own, but their sole purpose is to help the White lead in the film. The Astronomy Club tackles such characters like Oda Mae Brown from Ghost, Hoke Colburn from Driving Miss Daisy, and Aibileen Clark from The Help just to name a few as they try to deprogram themselves from being the magical negro. Peep the hilarity below.

The Astronomy Club already started building a name for themselves with a few bits for Comedy Central. According to Shadow and Act, they received their big break early this summer when Netflix ordered six half-hour episodes starring the New York-based improv and sketch group. The team was created in 2013 and was billed as the first all-Black house team at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Astronomy Club members include Shawntae Bowen, Jonathan Braylock, Ray Cordova, James III, Caroline Martin, Jerah Milligan, Monique Moses and Keisha Zollar.

Many people have come to know Disney as the leaders of their childhood with memorable animation movies and adventurous stories. However, the company definitely has a stain in their past of racist content. They’re hoping to amend this by removing or editing certain movies for their upcoming streaming service Disney+.

According to CNBC, hundreds of television shows and movies from Disney’s canon will appear on the platform with some content being decades old. Anything with racist messaging, however, will be absent from the platform, one being the 1946 movie Song of the South. The half-animation, half live-action flick tells the story of Uncle Remus, a storyteller who shares the tale of a trickster rabbit, a villainous fox and a dim-witted bear to a young boy. Critics have described the movie’s portrayal of Black people as racist and offensive, perpetuating stereotypes and using “black vernacular.”

Song of the South was also slammed for seemingly glorifying the plantation system of the post-Civil War South. Because of this, Disney has refrained from releasing the flick on any home video format in the U.S.

Disney+ has also edited other movies with controversial scenes. For example, the Jim Crow character from the original Dumbo will be edited out of the movie version that appears on the streaming platform. The live-action Lady and the Tramp headed to Disney+ will also reinvent the “Siamese Cat Song” with the assistance of Janelle Monáe.

Along with removing racist content, Disney will also be editing a notorious blooper scene from Toy Story 2 in which the prospector character Stinky Pete is interrupted while offering two Barbie dolls a role in the next Toy Story movie. The scene was slammed as having sexual harassment messaging.

Disney+ is expected to launch on Tuesday, November 12.

Lizzo Covers British Vogue

2019 has been the year of Lizzo. On top of having the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 by a solo female rapper and bodying every award show stage she’s hit, now the “Truth Hurts” singer can add Vogue cover girl to her list of accomplishments. On Thursday, British Vogue released the second of its December 2019 issue covers with Lizzo featured on one, donning a black Versace gown and looking Good As Hell.

Making her regal debut as the star of the second of #BritishVogue’s two December covers is @LizzoBeeating. More than a musician, Lizzo is a movement. Her messages of power, positivity and self-love have earned her a cult following of millions around the world. In the December issue, the star spends time with @Miss_Zing discussing coming full circle as one of the world’s biggest solo rap artists, female empowerment and being crowned this generation’s queen of body-positive pop. A post shared by British Vogue (@britishvogue) on Nov 7, 2019 at 8:56am PST

In the mag, the “Jerome” singer dished on everything from dealing with anxiety to promoting body positivity saying:

“Anybody that uses body positivity to sell something is using it for their personal gain. That’s just it. We weren’t selling anything in the beginning. We were just selling ourselves and selling ourselves on the idea – selling ourselves on ourselves, you know? I’m not trying to sell you me. I’m trying to sell you, you.”

On dealing with anxiety, Lizzo added:

“When I get really, really anxious before a show, I just go harder and harder and harder when I’m performing and I just go crazy,” she says. “I don’t know why, but my anxiety sometimes fuels who I am as a performer and who I am as an artist – and I know that is not the case for everyone. I don’t know if my body just, like, out of a desperate need to find a place for my anxiety or find a use for it, takes it and puts it there,” the Houston-raised rapper admitted.

It’s a beautiful thing to have someone like Lizzo for women younger and, more seasoned, to look up to.

T.I. once again showed his problematic colors with some outrageous details about his parenting style.

According to Madame Noire, Tip was on the podcast Ladies Like Us with Nadia Moham, a makeup artist, and Nazanin Mandi, who is the wife of singer Miguel. The 39-year-old rapper was discussing parenting and eventually the conversation veered to having the sex talk with kids. When asked if he’s had these conversations with his children, T.I. said that every year he goes out of his way to make sure his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah is still a virgin.

“This is the thing, Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself,” he said. “And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.”

While Moham and Mandi laughed at T.I.’s claim, he further confirmed that he’s not lying:

“So it’s this one time we go, I think this might have been after her 16th birthday. This is what we do. Right after the birthday we celebrate. Usually like the day after the party she’s enjoying her gifts. I put a sticky note on the door: ‘Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30.’ So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism. He’s like, ‘You know sir, I have to, in order to share information’ — I’m like, ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you would not want me to know? See doc? No problem.’ And so then they come and say, ‘Well I just want you to know that there are other ways besides sex that the hymen can be broken like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding and just other forms of athletic physical activity.’ So I say, ‘Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously.’”

Tip concluded by saying, “I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.”

Many people on Twitter were rightfully grossed out that T.I. would exert such surveillance over his daughter, especially if he’s not giving that same energy to his sons. In fact, in the most recent season of the Vh1 show T.I. & TinyFriends & Family Hustle, T.I.’s longterm partner Tiny was shocked to discover that their high school son King was no longer a virgin.

The fact that T.I. is speaking publicly about his daughter’s virginity is just plain wack.

Despite the news, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Tip would spew such patriarchal nonsense. The rapper has consistently portrayed the persona of “wokeness,” calling for boycotts of companies and slamming far-right conservatives like Candace Owens. However, if you get down to the nitty gritty of T.I.’s politics, they’re usually filled with sexism. In fact, a thorough watch of his Vh1 show will prove that he’d rather control women or put them in a box — a standard he would never hold for men.

Even if you don’t watch the show, it’s clear T.I.’s politics around women have been problematic to say the least. To add insult to injury, his ideas about manhood have also been rigid and ignorant. If it doesn’t fit within the cis, straight male category, it’s rare T.I. will try to stay informed. Even his overall race politics can be questionable due to his statements and actions.

Hit the flip for just a few comments T.I. has made that prove his “wokeness” comes with a limit.

Richard Lawson Speaks Out About Solange’s Divorce

Folks were shocked to find out earlier this week that Solange Knowles has parted ways with husband of five years, Alan Ferguson. Besides her candid announcement on Instagram, Solo hasn’t said much about her private split. But you can always count on step-dad Richard Lawson to speak when nobody else in the Knowles-Carter clan does.

During the Introduction to the Diverse Perspective event on Sunday, Lawson told Us Weekly that the family is helping Solange get through this difficult time.

“[We’re] helping her just work through it. It’s all a process,” the Poltergeist actor said. “And the beautiful thing is, is that everybody comes out the other side is the better for it.”

Richard added that Solange and big sister Beyoncé are “probably the best mothers that you have ever seen”.

“Tina is the ultimate mother. She’s constantly thinking about helping, supporting, understanding her daughters. And so they have taken up that mantle.”

This isn’t Solo’s first gor round on the divorce ride. Back in 2007, she announced her split from husband and baby daddy Daniel Smith, whom she married at just 17 years old. At least sis knows how to follow her heart, and live there.

UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital's 20th Annual "Party on the Pier"

It’s only been a couple years since Jordan Peele‘s directorial debut and already he’s becoming a trailblazer in the horror genre. He’s so inspiring that an actor from his own movie is already coming to him for advice.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 11-year-old Evan Alex is writing his own script and he tapped Mr. Peele for some advice on its execution.

“I’m working on my own project,” Alex said on Sunday at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital’s 20th annual Party on the Pier. “I’m writing a script… I’ve talked to Jordan about it. I’ve talked to him about the horror and about how I want this to be a little like Game of Thrones.”

There’s no word yet about the details of Alex’s story. But considering folks like Marsai Martin are making executive decisions for big budget movies like Little, Alex’s script could arrive on the big screen in the near future. He played Jason Wilson, the son of Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke‘s character, in the horror flick Us. Being involved in such an acclaimed project could have given him plenty of great ideas. The movie went on to gross over $255 million worldwide and over $175 million domestically. It’ll definitely be a tough act to follow.

U.S. Citizens Head To The Polls To Vote In Presidential Election

Source: Jeff Swensen / Getty

The time has arrived, Ladies and Gentlemen. Tuesday, November 5th is the day to exercise your right as an American and cast your vote which could potentially change the current state of the country. When it comes to people of color, women and other minorities, this elections is our chance to shift the way America has been running itself for hundreds of years.

We’ve watched Cheeto — er. Trump — disrespect and ostracize many people over the last three years, including African American women. That’s why it’s imperative that women as a whole, but specifically Black women, hit the polls today to change the narrative that has been placed on sistas.

Let’s face it, voting can be tedious and boring. But like most boring things, it has to be done. So we’ve put together a playlist of songs that can help you through the process. OH and just in case you’re considering not casting a vote this year, think about what happened the last time you didn’t vote.

It’s Thanksgiving month, which means it’s time to start spreading some holiday cheer. Thanksgiving is like the pre-game to the rest of the holiday season, so it’s pretty surprising that there aren’t as many Turkey Day themed films as there are Christmas movies. Needless to say, it’s a very underrepresented holiday.

Journalist Bryan Raferty wrote on Wired.com,  “You could program 12 straight days’ worth of Christmas movies, from It’s a Wonderful Life to Santa Claus Conquers the Martians to Elf. Independence Day has, well, Independence Day. You could even celebrate Easter by throwing on the gorgeous but terrifying rabbit-tale Watership Down, providing you hate your children. When it comes to go-to crowd-pleasing Thanksgiving entries, though, the pickings are slim.”

Facts! Unlike the film industry (that only uses the holiday to push box office sales for non-Thanksgivng themed films) , television has the Thanksgiving theme on lock. Every show has to have an epic thanksgiving episode to be considered a classic. And no matter how old you get, you’re never too old to live vicariously through your favorite TV show family.

On the bright side though, Thanksgiving is all about being with your love ones, being thankful for all your blessings and spreading love — which means you can literally watch any feel good, family-themed film and it’ll get the job done. This year, folks will be rushing to the theaters on Turkey Day to see new films like Creed II, Widows and Robin Hood.  @erickohn tweeted, “If you’re trying to decide between seeing GREEN BOOK or CREED 2 this weekend, go see WIDOWS.”

Hunter Harris wrote, “I’ll leave thanksgiving dinner early to see widows. yes it’s that serious. yes i know my family reads my tweets. yes i love them but this is me being upfront!”

But forget about finding movies to watch this holiday. What if you were the star of you favorite classic holiday film? Be honest, as kids, we’ve all thought about playing Kevin McAllister in Home Alone & Home Alone 2.

@JustJade25 said, “My son legit wants to be Kevin McCallister now he’s discovered Home Alone. It’s hilarious,” while actress Emma Kenney joked, “ohmygod Home Alone is THE best movie. forgot how great it is and how i want to be Kevin McCallister when i grow up.”

In honor of Turkey Day and in the spirit of festive flicks, take this quiz to find out which holiday classic you belong in. Hit us up on Twitter and Facebook to share your results.

No matter what any Scrooge tells you, Christmas actually begins the day after Halloween, and there’s no better way to start the holiday than with Mariah Carey‘s Merry Christmas album.
