Love is a pretty tricky thing. When it’s good, it’s gooood! But when it’s bad, sometimes it ends with the couple calling it quits. Unfortunately, that was the case for lots of celebs couples as 2019 wrapped up.

Grant it, some of the pairs that split ultimately found their way back to each other, like Jhene Aiko and Big Sean. Or Porsha Williams and Dennis Mckinley. Which further proves that love is such a strong force, it’s hard to get out once you’re in it. So when folks choose to get out of their love situations, it usually means that they’ve done all they could to keep the spark alive to no avail.

But that’s not to say that they can’t love again! Quite the contrary actually. Some of the folks on our list have already moved on to someone else, allegedly. Like Solange, who posted a heartfelt message about her divorce following rumors that she was spotted out with another man who was not her husband Alan Ferguson.

“11 years ago i met a phenomenal man who changed every existence of my life. early this year we separated and parted ways. i find it necessary to protect the sacredness of my personal truth and to live in it fully just as I have before and will continue to do. it is unfair to not have power of your own story as you shape and mold and rewrite it yourself.” – Solange

Much love to all the former couples on our list. And in honor of Valentine’s Week, let’s honor the couples and intimate loves that didn’t make it see 2020.

2020 is the year of truth , happiness and freedom. And what better way to celebrate your love or your loved one them honoring them and encouraging them to be their full self. And in true loving parent form, the Wade’s have been nothing short of supportive and caring for their child – both privately and publicly. So in honor of Zaya Wade living her truth, check these photos of the brave 12-year old living her best life.

Love is in the air this week, and for the first time in a long time, there’s a Black, romantic film hitting theaters to help us celebrate all the love flowing this week.

The Photograph, starring Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield, hits theaters this Friday — aka Valentine’s Day — which follows the estranged daughter (Issa Rae) of a famous photographer who falls in love with the journalist (Lakeith Stanfield) assigned to cover her late mother. Rae told Variety about working with Lakeith on the Will Packer produced flick:

“I did the chemistry read with a couple of guys and obviously Stella was watching and [producer Will Packer] was watching…[LaKeith] was definitely the most interesting read out of all the guys. LaKeith had a different type of energy and that’s what blew them away.”

It looks like fans are just as hype to see the movie as the cast was making it.

I got a chance to see an early screening of the film, and believe you me, it’s worth the hype. So in the spirit of love and celebrating everything Black, hit the flip for five reasons to see The Photograph this Valentine’s Day.

Even though most of us celebrate being Black all day, every day — tis’ the season to honor our people publicly and unapologetically. It’s officially Black History Month, the 28 days out of the year when the entire country realizes that Black people invented everything useful in the world, contributed to society in the most important ways and are the reason for all the seasons.  This month is a month of pride, accomplishments and endless celebrations of our culture.

And what’s a Black celebration without good music?

Black people have contributed to music and entertainment in the most significant ways. We have been the blueprint for all genres, including blues, pop and rock & roll. We have dominated the charts as singers, rappers and producers and we are the curators of all things cool.

If that’s not enough, we’re dropping the best Black Power anthems the world has ever heard. Hit the flip for some tunes that’ll have you feeling proud, woke and wanting to two-step at the same time.

Kerry Washington has been a force to be reckoned with since she first hit the scene back in 1994. Her gradual rise as commercial actress from the Bronx to Emmy-winning leading lady has always been an inspiring one for fans to watch.

The Scandal star lives a pretty low-key life with her hubby and two kids these days. But before becoming a mom, Ms. Kerry was a young actress in these California and NYC streets serving looks, smarts and sass.

She’s always down to stand for a cause that she believe in. Like the 2018 Times Up movement that swept Hollywood.

“[Women] shouldn’t have to give up our seat at the table because of bad behavior that wasn’t ours.”

And she’s always standing for the advancement of Black women:

“We must see each other, all of us and we must see ourselves, all of us and we have to continue to be bold and break new ground until this is how it is, until we are no longer ‘firsts’ and ‘exceptions’ and ‘rare’ and ‘unique.”

Mind you, she does all of this while looking flawless. Honestly, there’s not one bad photo of Kerry on the Internet.

The mom of two turns 43 years old today. and in honor of the big milestone, check out our gallery of Kerry Washington in all her badiness throughout the years.

“Breakfast Club” DJ Purchases Queen Of Hip Hop Soul’s NJ Estate

DJ Envy inked a major deal with Mary J. Blige to purchase her multimillion-dollar estate in New Jersey at a VERY deep discount, BOSSIP can reveal.

DJ Envy and his wife Gia closed on Blige’s former home on Jan. 22 in a deal that will see them pay less than half of what Blige bought it for and allow the veteran singer to shift a property that she’d struggled to keep out of foreclosure.

Under the terms of their agreement, the couple bought the mansion for $5.5 million. Blige bought the estate in 2008 for $12.3 million, and at more than 13,000 square feet, it has all the trappings of the home of a diva: eight bedrooms, 13 baths, a movie theater, wine tasting room, a fitness center and indoor basketball court set on more than four acres.

When an inspection of the estate later revealed that it needed serious repairs to its heating, water filtration and lighting systems, Envy asked Blige for a $300,000 credit on the sale price to fix them. Blige balked at Envy’s request, and even though Envy later agreed to purchase the estate as is, she abruptly backed out of the sale last month, his court papers said.

DJ Envy briefly sued Blige to force her to honor their contract, however, they were able to move forward with the sale and the case was withdrawn, court records obtained by BOSSIP show.

Lawyers for both Blige and DJ Envy did not return requests for comment.

Veteran Reality Star Sued On Show Nemesis For Allegedly Spreading Lies About Her

“Basketball Wives” Evelyn Lozada’s defamation case against her on-screen nemesis Chijindu “OG” Ogom is at a standstill because the reality star hasn’t been able to serve her with the lawsuit, BOSSIP has learned.

Lozada got an emergency hearing just before Christmas where she pleaded with the judge to be allowed to serve OG by printing a notice in a newspaper. But the judge denied Lozada’s request, meaning that she has to go back to the drawing board to figure out a way to serve OG, court docs show.

The mom of two already got the court to grant her an extension on the 60-day time limit to serve OG, according to court papers obtained by BOSSIP.

But the sliver of good news is that the judge dismissed Lozada’s motion without prejudice, so she can file the same motion again down the road if needed.

Lozada sued OG in 2019 for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress, alleging that OG made false posts about her online that implied that she was racist.

The reality show star said that OG’s social media tirade cost her in lost endorsement deals and said both her and her family have been harassed as a result. We’ve reached out to Lozada’s lawyer for comment.

OG has not responded to the case – likely because she still has yet to be served.

“Boxer Wives” Airs Exclusively On BOSSIP

The ladies behind iOne’s new reality show “Boxer Wives” said life as a prizefighter’s other half was anything but conventional.

The cast – Meda Montana, Shanequa Barrett, Jylissa Quinones, Cindy O’Farrow and Linda “Lee Lee” Batson – said there’s one thing that they’ve all been through as a boxer’s partner – dealing with other women trying to come in between them and their partners.

“To be the girlfriend, and the youngest (cast member) I think I’m learning to be more mature now,” Jylissa, who was in a relationship with fighter Joel Castillo, said in an exclusive interview earlier this month in NYC.

“But if you ask me,” Jylissa added, “if it’s not liquor, it’s fighting. It’s reality. I wasn’t like, ‘Please can you not do that?’ It was like ‘No, you’re not gonna do that – we’re not gonna have that.”

“Boxer Wives” chronicles the lives of women who are in relationships with prizefighters. All of the ladies admitted that the path to love they’d chosen wasn’t easy and that there are always other women waiting in the wings.

“You have to have tough skin,” according to Shanequa, who went to marriage counseling on the show with her husband Monte “Two Gunz” Barrett after he admitted she was the only woman that he’d been consistently faithful to.

Meda said during the early days of her relationship with her now ex-husband Zab Judah she had an unorthodox way of dealing with unwanted attention from females.

“I would say that the 20-year-old me, I was just ruthless,” Montana said. “That’s probably why me and Zab had so much chemistry – I was just beating everybody up!”

Nowadays Meda said she doesn’t jump to conclusions unless she had hard evidence, and became a detective of sorts when other women tried to contact her.

“I try not to accuse until I have actual facts,” Meda said. “So Im like CIA. Zab has gone out of the country and I’ve rung his hotel room…”He’ll be like, ‘How’d you find me?’ And I’m like, ‘this is what I do.’”

Need something really simple, very random, and slightly weird to entertain you during the holiday season? Well look no further than Janelle Monáe’s dyed armpit hairs.

That’s right, The Electric Lady took to Instagram to share her new look writing “What color did @nikkinelms dye my pits red, pynk , or orange ? The winner gets a treat. Also when you have extra dye left extra parts get dyed and I love it.”

For a regular shmegular person, this would definitely be filed under the category “TMI.”

However, because this is the extremely talented and stunningly beautiful Janelle Monáe, much of the Internet was willing to spend their whole afternoon guessing the color of the immaculate scruff underneath Monáe’s hot spot.

Some guessed pink (a.k.a. pynk as Janelle would call it) while others called it an off red.

But then there were those whose reactions ranged from hilarious to straight up odd and creepy. Even fellow singer Kehlani unabashedly confessed, “I wanna touch it.”

Hit the flip for more of the best comments that ended up on Janelle’s IG page.
