Muni Long and her husband of over nine years, Raysean Hairston, have called it quits. The R&B songstress opened up about her split from the record label exec during an interview on the Real. 92.3’s The Cruz Show on Aug. 29.

“Ruined Me,” a song from Long’s new album Revenge, is drenched in heartbreak as it chronicles a painful breakup and her struggle to reclaim her confidence and determination. When The Cruz Show hosts asked the R&B star about the inspiration behind the emotionally charged track, Long shared that her split from Hairston deeply influenced the breakup anthem.

“I always pull from real experiences because I’m writing from my unique perspective. I can only talk about what I know. But this is the first time I’m putting my real life in it. It’s no secret…I’ve been married for nine years…it just didn’t work out, you know?”

Without revealing too many details about the separation, Long mentioned that the split was largely due to her unwillingness to tolerate “drama.”

“I don’t have time for drama, I don’t have time for nonsense. This is one of the most amazing times in my life, and if you can’t celebrate that with me, I’m so sorry, but I’m going to have to leave you behind. I cannot,” the “Hrs and Hrs” singer continued. “You wake up every day mad, and there’s literally nothing to be upset about. We have a beautiful child, we’re good. We might owe some bills, but everybody has that.”

The 35-year-old singer added;

“I think it takes incredible strength to realize that this was the love of my life at one point—and he probably could be really good for me if he got it together—but I’m not willing to put my life, my passion, and my happiness on hold for you to catch up. Unfortunately, you might get it in a year…but I’m sorry, I’m probably already over it.”

When did Muni Long and Raysean Hairston get married?

According to People, Long and Hairston jumped the broom in 2014 shortly after meeting one another in Los Angeles. It’s unclear when they began dating. Hairston is one of the co-founders of Long’s label, Supergiant Records, a partnership she secured in 2022 with Def Jam Recordings. He has also co-written and produced several of the hitmaker’s songs.

Long is known for keeping her personal life private, so fans were surprised earlier this month when the veteran singer-songwriter introduced her adorable son on stage for the first time during her performance of the hit single “Made for Me” while opening for Chris Brown’s 11:11 tour.

When The Cruz Show hosts asked if she was nervous about putting her “business” about the separation out there to the public, Long said she had nothing to hide.

“Anything that I told you, I’m gon stand on it. I have no shame. And I feel like if there’s anything that you’re asking that’s out of pocket then I’m gonna be like ‘that’s not your business.’”

Well said, Muni!

What do you think about Muni Long’s split from her husband Raysean Hairston?

Mahisha Dellinger, the creator of the CURLS hair care brand, is setting the record straight about her appearance on Bravo’s Below Deck Med that’s led to insanely unnecessary threats of violence against her and her children.

In a statement shared exclusively with BOSSIP, she acknowledged that while some moments on the show might have portrayed her as “rude,” “demanding,” and “difficult,” they did not provide an “accurate representation” of her true character and instead perpetuated stereotypes “in ways that disparage Black women.”

What Happened On Below Deck Med?

Bravo fans poured onto social media with complaints about Mahisha’s seemingly “bossy” and “sassy” demeanor after she appeared as a guest on Below Deck Med on Aug. 12.

Upset fans slammed several questionable moments Mahisha had on the show, including one notable instance where she seemingly asked the yacht’s female crew members, Aesha Scott, and Bri Muller, to move an “eyesore” couch from the deck. In another scene, Mahisha appeared to demand that Aesha fetch her cocktail, which was just a short distance away.

In another scene, she was seen stating that caviar served to “taste like a washcloth” and in another moment, Neysla Paltsev, a friend of Dellinger’s was seen alleging that she was given a butter knife for her fish dinner when in actuality it was a fish knife.

She has since apologized for her actions.

“The confusion with the knives was silly. But the way I handled it was not OK. For that, I am truly sorry,” said Paltsev. “Although getting knives confused is not a crime, neither is being rude. But I should not have been [that rude].”

Hit the flip to see what Mahisha told BOSSIP about her appearance on the Bravo show.

Mahisha Dellinger Speaks Out On ‘Below Deck Med’ Moments, Says It Was Edited To Perpetuate Negative Stereotypes

In her statement to BOSSIP, Mahisha affirmed that in real life, she’s far from what Bravo cameras depicted.

Mahisha Delinger

The CURLS founder also revealed that she and her family were targeted online due to complaints from fans.

“I conduct myself, professionally or personally. Unfortunately, this portrayal has led to significant backlash, impacting my reputation, my relationships and my family; who, since the show’s airing, has faced a troubling wave of negative comments, including threats of violence and attacks on my children via social media. This is never acceptable.”

Mahisha suggested that heavy editing played a part in some of her less favorable moments on the reality TV show to paint her in a negative light as a Black woman, which she found “disheartening.”

“As a Black woman in business, I am acutely aware of the systemic challenges and marginalization that often accompany my journey,” the business owner shared. “It is disheartening to see how the media can perpetuate stereotypes and often edit content in ways that disparage Black women. They frequently present sensationalized storylines that do not reflect the full reality of the individuals involved.”

Mahisha added;

“But I know my reality, and despite this situation, I stand by me. I’m proud of who I am, who I’ve become, what I have built, what I’m still building, and the work I have done through my businesses and community initiatives to uplift, support and empower others; particularly, those from marginalized backgrounds. Every experience in our lives is designed to teach us lessons. I have learned that even in challenging moments, especially moments like this that seem almost unbearable, there is opportunity for growth, and I will use these lessons to move forward with integrity and resilience. Thank you to all who have shown support, understanding and grace in this moment. You are all greatly appreciated.”

Mahisha Dellinger Also Took To Instagram To Clear The Air

Mahisha went into further detail about the controversy surrounding her Below Deck Med appearance in an Instagram video posted on Aug.14. The entrepreneur acknowledged that while she had a few “regrettable” moments on camera, she and her friends generally had a fantastic time aboard the yacht. She revealed that during filming, she was struggling with alcohol but began a journey towards sobriety shortly after her appearance.

Mahisha expressed her gratitude to the staff for their hospitality and addressed several controversial moments from the show, reiterating that they were heavily edited and not as they appeared.

She clarified that while she did ask that the couches be moved so they could promo pictures for Bravo she expected the men onboard to move it.

“I would never expect a woman of any size to move a couch,” she said. “We got the picture but it wasn’t intended to have the beautiful ladies move the couch.”

As far as the cocktail situation, the mogul clarified that she was asking her friend Neysla to get her cocktail cheekily, not Aesha.

“I wasn’t speaking to captain Aesha,” said Mahisha. “I can have that with my friend, we know our vibe, with friends you have this different banter. I treat service people really well, I tip service people really well,” she added.

She then dug into the “caviar gate” and said that the Chef’s food was delicious and the taste of the caviar didn’t reflect poorly on him. She noted however that she could have kept the “washcloth” comment to herself.

Ultimately, the entrepreneur wants watches to be mindful that they taped three days of content that was sliced down to only 20 minutes.

“Those moments looked horrible on TV and I get that,” she said, urging people to move on.

Listen to her full statement below.

No matter how you feel about what was shown on Below Deck Med, threats of violence are never okay.

Despite the backlash, Mahisha has much to celebrate, including recently earning her doctorate.

What do YOU think about Mahisha Dellinger sharing her truth amid the Below Deck Med backlash?

Wendy Williams Posed For A Picture With Victor Bowman, The Son Of Dr. Sebi

According to sources who spoke with Page Six, late last week, the 60-year-old former radio host visited Bolingo Balance in Newark, a health store owned by Victor Bowman, the son of the late herbalist healer Dr. Sebi. In a picture shared to Bowman’s Facebook page on Aug. 19, the star, who ended her iconic Wendy Williams Show in June 2022 due to health issues, smiled and appeared happy as she posed for a snap with Bowman, holding a few items from her haul.

Williams radiated happiness, sporting her signature highlighted brown hair with bangs. She donned a denim romper decorated with large roses, complemented by chunky white boots and a pop of pink lipstick.

Sources close to the Ask Wendy author revealed to PageSix that Williams was “sharp, upbeat, and very bubbly” during her store visit. She even took the time to sit down with Bowman to discuss some health products offered in his store. Her son, Kevin Hunter Jr. also accompanied her as she shopped around.

Fans Have Been Worried About Williams’ Health Over The Last Several Years

Wendy’s vibrant and cheerful sighting contrasts sharply with the somber image from her last public appearance in the Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? The docu-series, which aired after the cancellation of her show in 2022 and the start of her court-appointed guardianship, offered a raw glimpse into her struggles with alcohol abuse and severe health issues.

One poignant moment showcased the former daytime talk show host without a wig and with minimal makeup, appearing frail and unrecognizable while speaking with Angela White (formerly Blac Chyna). Her speech seemed impaired and incoherent as she chatted with the famous star in her New York City apartment. The startling scene left many fans shocked by the former Hot Topics host’s condition. Williams’ last public sighting before this recent appearance was in March 2023, when she was seen walking back to her New York City apartment in an all-black outfit, with a solemn expression.

However, during her recent outing at Bolingo Balance, an employee claimed that Williams had much more energy and pep in her step. The insider said the media maven was “engaging but wasn’t as familiar with what we do here, so her son was more explaining things.”

According to the employee, Bowman gifted Williams a selection of holistic products, including iron-rich herbs like sarsaparilla, contribo, and bottano oil, which are noted for their skin benefits. Williams also received capsules from Dr. Sebi’s son, known for their potential to support hormonal balance and mental wellness.

The star also “talked about circulation improvement but didn’t want to get into too much detail on their first meeting and plans to come back in the near future,” another Bolingo Balance worker noted.

Williams Has Faced Several Health Battles

Williams has strived to overcome several health issues over the last year.

In 2023, representatives for the former Hot 97 radio host revealed that she was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Aphasia, a neurogenic language disorder, can occur following a traumatic brain injury or dementia. The condition can disrupt the left hemisphere of the brain, which is responsible for language and communication abilities, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association noted. Most common in individuals post-stroke, FTD is a form of brain disease that can drastically change the behavior, cognitive function, and personality of those affected.

Additionally, Williams has been battling lymphedema, a condition she was diagnosed with in 2019. The extreme disorder causes swelling, usually in the arms or legs, due to a build-up of lymph fluid when the lymphatic system, responsible for draining excess fluid and waste from tissues, becomes damaged or blocked. Symptoms include swelling, a feeling of heaviness or tightness, restricted movement, and skin changes.

This year, the entertainment legend openly discussed her struggles with lymphedema in her Lifetime docu-series during a teary-eyed confessional.

“This is lymphedema, and I can only feel now 2%. Do you see what this looks like?” Williams said as the camera panned down to show her swollen feet.

“There’s no cure for this. There’s no pill for this!” she cried, before adding;

“I should be in a wheelchair, you know?”

We’re glad to see Wendy Williams in better spirits and we hope those Dr. Sebi products help her out on her wellness journey.

Fans worry Jennifer Williams is repeating the past amid an arrest warrant for her future husband, but the Basketball Wives star says her love story won’t be another True Scam Story.

Williams’ fiancé, Christian Gold, is reportedly facing serious legal issues that could have far-reaching implications for their future together, including their upcoming wedding.

Arrest Warrant Issued for Christian Gold

According to reports from Media Take Out, an arrest warrant has been issued for Christian Gold in the state of Georgia. Gold, who is currently on probation after serving time for a domestic violence conviction involving his ex, allegedly violated the terms of his probation by leaving the state without permission.

The probation officer became aware of Gold’s unauthorized departure from Georgia through none other than Jennifer Williams’ Instagram account. This discovery has not only complicated Gold’s legal standing but also complicated things for the couple’s upcoming nuptials.

Wedding Plans In Jeopardy

If the arrest warrant news wasn’t bad enough, a recent scene from Basketball Wives added more drama to the situation. In the episode, Christian Gold expressed his concern that his legal troubles might interfere with their dream wedding in Paris. He revealed to Jennifer that they needed to resolve nearly $250,000 in restitution payments—a sum that Jennifer claimed she was hearing about for the first time and one that is nearly equivalent to their wedding expenses.

While fighting these legal challenges, Gold is reportedly seeking a walk-in hearing to avoid incarceration. He hopes to persuade the court to allow him to remain on probation and grant him a travel pass so that he can marry Jennifer in Paris next month.

A Candid Conversation With Carlos King

Amid all this chaos, Jennifer and Christian sat down with Carlos King for an interview that addressed many of the public’s concerns about their relationship. King did not hold back, asking Jennifer how she felt about fans’ concerns about her getting “scammed again.”

Jennifer responded with grace, acknowledging the worries of her fans while making it very clear that she has learned from her past.

“I’m appreciative of people being concerned for me, I’m appreciative of my fans, but here’s the thing: I learned a lot and every single day I ask God for discernment. I have learned tremendously, I have learned from these mistakes that I’ve made,” she said.

Jennifer’s Vision For Her Wedding Day

Despite the looming uncertainty, Jennifer remains focused on making her wedding day unforgettable. In an interview with US Weekly, she shared her plans to make the event truly unique. “I’m definitely not going to be traditional. On my wedding day, I am changing three times,” she revealed. Jennifer is also planning a welcome party on a boat the day before the wedding and a brunch the day after, though she admits she still has some planning to do for her outfits.

There is no official word on whether the wedding ceremony will be filmed for Basketball Wives or VH1. However,  Jennifer hopes her fans will continue to witness her journey to finding love.

Cam Newton attends 2024 BET Awards - Arrivals

Source: Gilbert Flores / Getty

Cam Newton has been using his Funky Friday podcast to address some pretty big topics, and it seems he’s finally met his match.

In his latest episode, the Heisman winner invited Dr. Cheyenne Bryant for a conversation on marriage and dating. During the more than two-hour sit-down, the conversation turned to Newton’s own dating situation(s). The former NFL quarterback revealed that he has eight children by three different women but is “taking his time” when it comes to marriage.

Dr. Bryant interjected to pushback on his idea by saying,

“You’re not taking your time, you’re being very action based. You’re not taking your time. You have eight kids with three different women. You are creating, procreating and multiplying. That is not taking your time, you’re being very selectively active.

You are proactively choosing where you want to be active at and where you want to take your time. You want to take your time in having a wife because of your own fears but you will…and I say this with all respect and love…you will selfishly create broken families.”

She continued,

“Every child cannot have papa in the house with them. Some child, if not all, will end up with some kind of deficit without daddy being there. Those are selfish acts at the expense of your fear. At what point do you feel the fear and do it anyway? That is a low functioning behavior to say ‘I’m going to build these houses and put kids and these beautiful women in them but I’m not going to create a home for them’.”

Social media has been ablaze with commentary about the conversation. Some people have pointed out the stark contrast between the things that Newton said about his own future—including a desire to have more children that “God brings”—and what the mother of his eighth child said about their relationship.

During an interview with Shan Boodram for the Lovers and Friends Podcast, comedian Jasmin Brown, who gave birth to her and Newton’s daughter earlier this year, opened up about the way she shows her love to him.

“I pretty much read his mind. If I know you and I study you. I know how you are in the morning, I know how you are about midday. I know how you are when you’re in this mood, what you need. Before you can ever ask me for something, I’m already on it.”

She continued,

“I think my biggest flex is how I treat my man. I’ve been known to love people back to health and sometimes it’s very draining but my love is my superpower.”

People were quick to point out that though she seems to pride herself on being any and everything he may need, Newton seems to still be searching for the right woman to spend his life with.

Going into its return, Real Housewives of Atlanta has made some major changes to the cast, including bringing back Phaedra Parks. The RHOA “Sweet Sixteen” season has officially completed filming, and Parks reveals that this is one viewers won’t want to miss.

Parks recently spoke with People about rejoining the RHOA cast and what fans can expect to see this upcoming season. As BOSSIP reported, Bravo and Parks announced that she would be featured on season 16 of RHOA in late July 2024. The Atlanta native states that it is a “welcoming feeling” to return to the reality TV show. Additionally, she always planned to return but was waiting on the right time — and the phone call.

“They called, and I answered,” she stated.

Parks also asserted that her presence on the show may bring the franchise back from low viewership, “We were the No. 1 franchise of Housewives and I was a part of making that franchise a successful franchise. And I would love to bring the franchise come back to its heyday.”

In May 2023, Yahoo Entertainment reported that season 15 of RHOA presented its lowest numbers yet, and Bravo was not happy.

“RHOA Season 15, Episode 4 saw the lowest viewership for the series in years. The season premiere debuted with a decent 834,000 viewers, but the numbers have been dipping since then,” the outlet wrote.

A cast shake-up and the return of Porsha Williams and Phaedra Parks is an obvious strategy to hook viewers back in. Parks is certain the plan will work as she promises viewers can expect the same quality as older seasons.

Phaedra Parks Is Excited To Reunite With Porsha Williams

People also reported that Parks admits she is happy to return with her pal, Porsha Williams.

“Of course, I love Porsha,” Parks said. “We are the original frick and frack.”

You may recall that their friendship took a hit after Parks left the show after season nine. During the season, the central storyline was that Williams accused fellow castmate Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, of planning to drug her and Shemea Morton for sexual pleasure. At the reunion for the season, Williams revealed that Parks was behind the rumor. The 50-year-old then admitted that she told Williams.

The strength of Parks and Williams’ friendship since the debacle is a mystery, but viewers will hopefully see more when the season airs. Fans are also wondering just how often Parks will appear on season 16. As mentioned, Parks announced her return in July 2024, when the season was months into filming. As BOSSIP reported, this announcement came after Kenya Moore exited the show due to an internal investigation regarding Moore allegedly releasing private photos of cast member Brittany Eady.

Despite all of the changes, the mother of two is confident that fans will enjoy the season, “I will say this, it’s going to be an amazing season,” Parks teases. “I mean, it will definitely be reminiscent to the Housewives you love originally.”

Parks also told People that season 16 completed filming on August 19. Viewers can expect the new season soon, but Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date.

Jamaican Olympic sprinter Junelle Bromfield is speaking out about weeks of online harassment and colorism, but boyfriend Noah Lyles, Sanya Richards-Ross, Gabby Thomas, and more have her back. “F**k them!” fellow track star Tara Davis-Woodhall clapped back in the comments.

Athletics - Olympic Games Paris 2024: Day 8

On Friday, the track and field champ opened up about the “cyber-bullying” she experienced. Since the 2024 Paris Olympics began, racist trolls around the world have targeted Black athletes like her and Team USA’s Jordan Chiles.

Bromfield didn’t just face hate globally about her Blackness and relationship with the “fastest man in the world.” She revealed even her fellow countrymen are bombarding her with death threats and colorist comments about her skin tone and other features.

“I honestly thought we were past colorism in Jamaica,” Bromfield wrote on an IG post with screenshots of some hateful harassment.

“I grew up hearing black is not beautiful , Your hair is dry , your mouth is too big , your forehead too high and when you throw all those insults behind you and start walking with confidence the best compliment you get is your pretty for a black girl,” Bromfield wrote.

She added several rude receipts because she claimed no one believed her about the online abuse she suffered. The images include replies comparing her to animals and threatening her if she ever returns to Jamaica.

“I honestly thought we were past colorism in Jamaica especially as nation that is filled with black people. I have been getting cyber bullied for weeks and when it gets talked about I’m a liar because no Jamaican was coming for my features,” she continued.

The silver medal stunner ended with words of encouragement for other women and girls like herself.

“I could go off ranting but I’m just here to tell all the girls/women on my profile that you’re beautiful no matter your shade, shape or size and for the the little black girls don’t wait on anybody to tell you that your beautiful to believe it,” Bromfield concluded.

Support flooded in from fellow track stars and celebs with island roots. Check out the responses to Junelle Bromfield’s confession about online harassment after the flip.

Of course, Junelle Bromfield’s boyfriend, Noah Lyles, didn’t hesitate to support her. The couple has been together since 2022 after a few years of friendship. Lyles also received backlash for their border-crossing coupledom and he quickly took to the comments to cheer her on as the inspiration she is.

“Baby you are and will always be an inspiration to all little girls feeling this exact way. I can’t wait for the day that you tell your story in full because every girl that has felt what you are going through will know how amazing they can be and go on to do amazing things!” the recent gold medal winner wrote.

Three-time Paris Olympics gold medalist Gabby Thomas loved on Bromfield.

“Thank you for using your platform to share this- WE know you are one of the most beautiful ladies on the track, but what’s even more important is how much you shine as a person and how you light up a room. We love you,” she wrote with heart emojis.

Champion long jumper Tara Davis-Woodhall didn’t hold back on the haters.

“F**K THEM! THEY WISH THEY COULD BE YOU,” the US champ added.

Fellow Jamaican runner Yohan Blake also replied to remind Bromfield the nasty nonsense is just a distraction.

“You are beautiful just the way you are. Let them talk! Most people hate themselves that’s why it’s so easy for them to show hate. Don’t get caught up in what they have to say about you.
Stay focused!” the second-fastest man in history in the 100m and 200m said.

RHOA and Olympics alum Sanya Richards-Ross chimed in:

“You are beautiful!!! Inside and out. Keep shining bright.”

LHHATL and “Queen of Dancehall” Spice entered the chat to continue calling out colorism and racism, like Erica Mena’s infamous “blue monkey” melee.

“Beautification, Black creation, Black Perfection. They use to say I’m black like Tar but look at me now I’m a Shining Star. @JunelleBromfield YOU ARE A BLACK HERO I’M SO PROUD OF YOU QUEEN. Now let’s show them what black girls are made of,” the Mirror 25  artist wrote.

The Caribbean cosigns continued with Nicki Minaj showed solidarity by posting Bromfield on her Instagram Stories.

Model and former Miss Universe Jamaica winner Davina Bennett also entered the chat:

“BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL. MELANIN IS GOLDEN. Continue to filter out the hate. You are stunning in every way! It’s heartbreaking to see colorism prevail, especially within our own country. Hold your head high, fix your crown, and stand tall in knowing that you’ve made your roots proud. Sending positive energy your way!” the beauty queen wrote.

Lyles isn’t the only celeb who doesn’t play about Bromfield and countless fans flooded the comments with love. Hopefully the sprinter’s heartfelt admission reaches her haters as much as those who look up to her. Black is, indeed, beautiful and never going out of style. Now, run, tell that!

Spotlight: Shaboozey

Source: Rebecca Sapp / Getty

Shaboozey is having a great year as his track “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” continues to dominate the charts, but now he’s in for quite a battle with his former publishing company.

According to Rolling Stone, the new country music star is suing the major music publisher, Warner Chappell, for a breach of contract and refusing to let him out of an administrative deal. The singer’s legal team claims that they’ve attempted to pay 110 percent of “unrecouped balances” to terminate his current deal; however, the label is refusing to negotiate.

“To date, Warner has refused to disclose to plaintiff the total amount of the unrecouped balance for the prior advances in violation of the Administration Agreement,” the lawsuit states.

His former label isn’t here for the move. According to TMZ, Kreshendo Entertainment, a subsidiary of Warner Chappell claims that they agreed to let Shaboozey out of his deal back in 2019 with the caveat that they’d be able to still earn money on his music. They also allege that he was aware of the agreement and are now suing him for fraud to the tune of $2 million.

Kreshendo seems to think that Shaboozey is acting brand new to avoid having to share his newfound riches. His lawsuit also alleges that the company unlawfully released his music without his knowledge.

Nonetheless, Shaboozey is enjoying his success and is allegedly using his access to the rich and famous to bag some pretty women. According to People, the Beyoncé collaborator is getting close to model/actress Emily Ratajkowski. The two were spotted attending the premiere of Zoe Kravitz‘s directorial debut, Blink Twice.

What a difference a year can make as Shaboozey was using social media to push his music before landing a spot on Cowboy Carter.

“I’ve been doing music for such a long time, I’ve put a lot of time and years into it,” he told PEOPLE. “I put so much into it that I feel like it’s just cool to see it working. Everybody hopes it works. To see it actually working, it’s unreal. It feels like a dream. It feels like I’m definitely going to wake up at some point and be like, ‘Damn, that s— was a dream?’”

Well, hopefully. he’ll be able to keep his coins.

The video is from a hit-and-run accident involving the singer that took place in May 2023. According to TMZ, DaniLeigh was driving under the influence in Miami when she hit a 17-year-old who sustained both a kidney laceration and spinal fracture.

Video footage taken at the scene shows a clearly inebriated DaniLeigh talking to officers saying,

“You can’t arrest me, I’m a singer.”

She also called out rapper Quavo as the person she was with, who later made an appearance alongside another man and questioned the officers.

It’s unclear why the video surfaced more than a year after the incident. However, DaniLeigh is currently serving a five-year probation. Police initially booked her on three felony charges of driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and DUI damage to property.

She pleaded no contest to misdemeanor and felony charges. In the meantime, her brother, Brandon Bills, is still trying to collect his coins from DaniLeigh‘s ex, rapper DaBaby.

In 2023, Bills filed a lawsuit against his sister’s former lover over an altercation at a Los Angeles bowling alley. In 2022, DaBaby and his friends were seen beating Bills after the two exchanged words via social media. Bills is seeking $4 million from the “Bop” rapper, The Source reports.

According to reports, Bills has had a hard time serving DaBaby with legal papers. He allegedly hired a private investigator and a process server to track him down but has been unsuccessful. A judge has given him the right to take out a newspaper ad serving the rapper; however, no judgment has been made in the case thus far.

Here’s to hoping both DaniLeigh and DaBaby are making better choices for the sake of their daughter.

We even noticed Katia Washington was part of the production too because she’s credited for this BTS photo!

Malcolm Washington, who also co-wrote this adaptation, penned a beautiful director’s statement about the project which was posted to Tudum. Here’s a small excerpt:

“I honor the spirit of August Wilson and the legacy he left behind for all of us. A legacy that thrives in the power of Danielle Deadwyler’s Berniece, the dynamism of John David Washington’s Boy Willie, and the understated brilliance that is Samuel L. Jackson’s Doaker.

Every family has a history, stories from the past that inform the present; an origin story. Ultimately this story is much bigger than me and my family — it, like the Black American experience, is an interconnected web of stories that span space and time. I hope that when audiences experience our film, they see themselves on the screen and hear the voices of their ancestors calling to them, offering peace and protection.”
