 Piers Morgan was forced to issue an apology for remarks made by Jaguar Wright regarding Jay-Z and Beyoncé during an interview about the sex trafficking and racketeering allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The British broadcaster was also scolded by the Carters’ high-powered attorney who said he was given an “ultimatum” in the matter.

During Morgan’s Uncensored show published on YouTube on Oct. 2, Jaguar Wright alleged that she had disturbing details about Diddy’s infamous “Freak Off” parties, claiming to have witnessed “ritualistic abuse, drugging, and violent acts” at the notorious events. When Morgan inquired about the potential number of victims, Wright asserted there could be “thousands.” She also alleged that other high-profile figures, including Jay-Z and Beyoncé, have a history of sexual abuse.

“For four years, I’ve been shouting that not just Diddy, but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters,”

Wright claimed that the power couple may have had hundreds of victims.

“I’ve talked to hundreds that I deal with still myself,” she alleged.

On his Oct. 8 show, Morgan rejected Wright’s allegations, stating that he had received a call from Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s legal team, asserting that Wright’s comments were “totally false and have no basis in fact,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

He continued;

“The thing about platforms, the reality of the modern world is that pretty much everyone has a platform as long as they have something to say that other people want to hear. That’s why we invited [Wright] on to be interviewed. The people making these claims have an audience with or without shows like mine.”

Morgan added;

“Well, Jaguar, unexpectedly, made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves, but now they have. We had lawyers contact us to say that those claims were totally false and have no basis in fact, and we’ve therefore complied with a legal request to cut them from the original interview. Editing interviews is not something we do lightly at a show called Uncensored but like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theater, there are legal limits on us, too. And we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”

Jay Z And Beyoncé’s Attorney Scolded Piers Morgan

On Wednesday, the Carters’ high-power attorney Alex Spiro had LOTS to say about Piers Morgan’s actions.

“There’s rumors, and then there’s nonsense. And this is one step further; this is a formal accusation of something,” Spiro told TMZ.

The attorney clarified that he did not issue a simple cease-and-desist, as some outlets reported, but rather delivered an ultimatum to Morgan; either retract the false claims or face legal consequences.

“It was quite bluntly an ultimatum, which is remove that false accusation that’s demonstrably false, or a court’s going to order you to,” the attorney explained. “He didn’t just harm the Carters, what he did effectively was drown out the voices of actual victims in an ongoing case, in an ongoing investigation.”

When asked by Harvey Levin about the broader silence from Hollywood in the wake of the Diddy allegations, the attorney responded;

“When [the Carters] put their foot down on something, as they did here, they are sending a message. If they can’t stand up and make sure right from wrong, then who can?” Their belief in the judicial process remained steadfast, with the attorney confident that “the truth will come out in courtrooms, and I’m sure the truth will come out here.”

In addition, she has released several singles from 2001 to 2014, Marie Claire notes.

The singer and songwriter has collaborated with notable artists such as The Roots, Dice Raw, Blackalicious, Mike Watts, and Femi Kuti, and has contributed backing vocals on numerous albums. She toured with The Roots and made a notable appearance on MTV’s Unplugged in 2001, where she performed as a backup singer for Jay-Z. This isn’t the first time she has accused a well-known hip-hop artist of sexual abuse. In 2020, Wirught claimed she was sexually assaulted by Common, who denied the allegations.

What do you think about Jaguar Wright’s comments on Piers Morgan’s show and the Carters quickly shutting them down?
