This latest chapter in Nelly and Ashanti’s rekindled romance comes after the smitten rapper surprised the Queen of Vacays with an over-the-top birthday soirée.

The “Country Grammar” rapper threw his ex-turned-wife an intimate birthday bash decorated with extravagant island destinations she’s become synonymous with over the years.

In a behind-the-scenes montage posted by Nelly, the heart-eyed couple can be seen partying with their family and friends while dining on Caribbean cuisine.

Since spinning the block, the pair has been inseparable and welcomed their son, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, on July 18. In an interview with ET, the pair opened up about Nelly’s bustlin’ birthday, their baby, baby, babyyy, and a potential Vegas residency in the near future.

‘That’s funny that you say that. There were talks not too long ago about that very thing,’ he teased in an interview with ET. I’m not gonna say too much more but hopefully everything continues the course. I love Vegas, she loves Vegas. We both love Vegas for very different reasons.’

Welp, it happened. Donald Trump defeated VP Kamala Harris, reminding us that the prospect of a Black woman ascending to the presidency over a loud and proud white nationalist male was, unfortunately, always a longshot. But good things happened on Election Day too, particularly for Black women in politics.

Angela Alsobrooks x Lisa Blunt Rochester

Source: Andrew Harnik/ Anna Moneymaker / Getty

For the first time in U.S. history, two states elected Black women to the U.S. Senate on Tuesday night. Maryland elected Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks (D), and Delaware elected Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D), who is currently serving in her fourth term in the U.S. House.

Now, if we’re being honest, a breakdown of the Senate’s history with Black women makes this victory look like ridiculously slow progress. Still, that history also underscores what a significant achievement Alsobrooks and Rochester made.

From NPR:

Their victories double the number of Black women ever elected to the U.S. Senate, from two to four.

Carol Moseley Braun was the first, in 1992, while Vice President Kamala Harris became the second in 2016.

California Sen. Laphonza Butler is the third Black woman to serve in the chamber, but she was not elected — she was appointed in October 2023 to finish out the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s term, which ends in January. She is not seeking reelection.

In other words: Only three Black women have served in the Senate, and never at the same time.

That’s set to change when Alsobrooks, 53, and Blunt Rochester, 62, are sworn in next year.

In fact, not only will two Black women serve together in the U.S. Senate for the first time in U.S. history, but they’re the first Black women to be elected for the position in their respective states. Rochester will be Delaware’s first female senator. That a Black woman was the first to achieve that milestone in a state that is nearly 64% white and only 22% Black is impressive, and it says a lot in a country that obviously couldn’t fathom a qualified Black woman ascending to the presidency. Meanwhile, Alsobrooks is the first Black woman to be elected to any statewide office in Maryland.

To be sure, Alsobrooks’ and Blunt’s victories aren’t only to be celebrated because they’re Black women. They were elected after campaigning on issues that are of the utmost importance to Black people, especially Black women. Namely Black health.

More from NPR:

The two have since referred to each other as their “senator sister,” and spoken about their shared experiences and motivations when it comes to tackling issues from prescription drug affordability to maternal mortality, which disproportionately impacts Black patients.

“The history-making part is good, but the impact is what we’re all going for, to make a difference in people’s lives,” Blunt Rochester told Elle in September. “The ability to go to the Senate and be one of 100 — but also as two of only five [Black women senators] in the history of this country — would be incredible.”

So, Nov. 5 wasn’t all bad.

Congrats and good luck to senators-elect Angela Alsobrooks and Lisa Blunt Rochester. Your wins are well-deserved and your leadership is much, much needed.

The summit’s programming featured dynamic panels and discussions led by the likes of media personality Tavis Smiley, artists Ferrari Sheppard, Kevin Williams, and Harmonia Rosales, Grammy-winning producer Rikki Hughes, and financial advisor Ayesha Selden were among those who contributed to the day’s dialogue.

Topics covered included the financial intricacies of art appraisals, innovative payment models to make art collecting more accessible, and the shifting power of Black art within cultural and commercial spheres.

“We wanted to create an event that not only celebrates Black art but also empowers those involved to push boundaries and seize new opportunities,” said Art Melanted’s Jennia Aponte who described the summit as an “intersection of art, business, and community aimed at enabling Black creatives and collectors to reclaim and redefine their space in the art world.”

Art Melanated reports that this summit is only the beginning as its founders have already gained attention for their innovative nomadic gallery, which spotlights underrepresented voices in the arts.

Ultimately, Art Melanated’s founders said they envision this summit as a launching pad for ongoing initiatives that “seek to blend artistic vision with economic empowerment, bringing the business of art to the forefront for emerging and established creatives alike.”

Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump Speaks In Asheville, NC

North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson is one of the worst human beings walking the earth. He’s more infamous for his bloviating bigotry about Black men, Black women, and LGBTQ folks than he is famous for actually helping improve his constituents’ access to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

BOSSIP previously reported on Robinson’s most recent scandal involving his alleged activity on an adult video website where he allegedly described himself as a “Black Nazi” and a “perv” who enthusiastically enjoyed watching trans adult films.

Shortly after this scandal took over the news cycle, his entire campaign staff bailed on him and the powers that be atop the conservative party in North Carolina revoked their endorsements. He was cooked.

With that said, it should come as no surprise that Robinson got absolutely destroyed in the polls last night and his dreams of becoming governor of The Tar Heel State went up in smoke. Democratic candidate Josh Stein was called the winner of the gubernatorial race relatively early last night as he amassed 3,036,723 votes accounting for 54.8% of eligible ballots. In contrast, Robinson only won 2,225,602 votes representing only 40% of ballots cast.

Perhaps Mark Robinson should drop out of politics and start an OnlyFans for failed politicians who like to click on a lil’ cheeky-freaky-deeky.

Travis Kelce is sticking by his brother’s side following an altercation with a fan who made fun of the Chiefs tight end’s relationship with Taylor Swift.

Championship Series - Arizona Diamondbacks v. Philadelphia Phillies - Game One

A video of Jason Kelce went viral after a Pennsylvania State University student came up to him to say his brother “is a f****t for dating Taylor Swift.”

In response, the former Philadelphia Eagle grabbed the fan’s phone and threw it onto the ground, picking up the phone and walkinh away with it as the student demanded that he give it back.

In another video obtained by TMZ, Jason responded to the fan by taunting, “Who’s the f****t now?”

While it’s no surprise that Jason passionately came to his brother’s defense, a lot of folks are still upset that the retired NFL player used a slur. Travis addressed that disappointment and the entire situation on Wednesday’s episode of their podcast, New Heights.

“You had some f***ing clown come up to you talking about your family,” the Kansas City Chiefs star said. “You reacted in a way that was defending your family and you might have used some words that you regret using.”

Still, he praised his brother for “learn[ing] from” the experience and “own[ing]” it with an apology on ESPN Monday night.

“I know it’s weighing on you, brother,” he continued. “That s**t sucks. You shouldn’t feel this much…Everybody passing around the videos is gonna make it a bigger situation than what it really is.”

“You don’t choose hate,” Travis added of his older brother. “That’s not who you are.”

Jason went on to double down on his regret over the “hateful” footage, insisting that he wants to “stop talking about the really stupid situation” from this moment on.

Jason also said that “the thing I regret the most is saying that word, to be honest with you,” admitting it was “over the line.”

After at first saying he had questions for Vice President Kamala Harris about her record, Meek Mill has seemingly endorsed the Democratic nominee.

Before election season arrived, Philadelphia’s own Meek Mill used his Twitter fingers to stir up conversation about the election when according to Billboard, he revealed he had three questions in mind he wanted to ask Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I wanna ask Kamala Harris questions about her past as a da, even if she had to be tough,” Meek tweeted. “All I hear is rumors of her … I would ask her 3 questions about black and brown men going to prison and her views and try to help her understand from a survival standpoint point she may have never had to encounter!”

Later Meek suggested performing “Dreams and Nightmares” at the Presidential debate, and just like his suggestion of a sitdown with the VP, that of course did not happen.

On Monday, Meek Mill made one final attempt to involve himself in the election and he dropped a song titled “Who You Voting For” where she seemingly endorsed Kamala.

“My homie said he vote for Trump, he want that stimulus. I want it too for him, but the way he moving venomous. I work for everything I got, earn all my privileges. They give immunity to cops, they gone probably finish us.” Meek raps before seemingly backing Harris. “And I ain’t vote for Cam-a-la (mispronunciation of Kamala), I’m a probably vote Kamala, somebody call her,” he later states.

After failed attempts to connect with Kamala’s presidential campaign, Meek Mill finally settled on doing what he knows best; rapping. And in Vice President Harris’ defense, she had limited time to chitchat. In the future, maybe Meek can sit down with [hopefully Presidnt] Harris and ask all the questions he’d like.

If the song helps even one undecided voter get in the booth, then he can consider it a win.

If you’re anything like us, you might be full of anxiety about what’s ahead for the U.S. presidency after Election Day.

Kamala Harris / Donald Trump

Source: REBECCA DROKE/ JIM WATSON/ AFP / Getty

We reached out to Psychic Zya to try and get a sneak preview at what life might look like under a Kamala Harris presidency vs. a Donald Trump one, all based on their astrological signs. Keep reading to learn her insights on the matter!

KAMALA THE LIBRA VS TRUMP THE GEMINI PREDICTIONS BY ZYA FOR BOSSIP

To say that we are living in unprecedented times is an understatement.

For the first time ever we have a woman of color Presidential nominee who is doing exceedingly well but still virtually tied in the polls (as of 11/4) to a man who has been convicted of federal crimes and is tied to an agenda (Project 2025) that would take America back to the 1800s — when pretty much only wealthy white men had any civil liberties.

Politics aside (haha!) today we are gonna look at the cosmos and see exactly what we can possibly expect from each of these two based on their Sun Signs. Ironically they are both Air Signs: Kamala is a Libra and Trump is a Gemini.

Now before we dive into this astro-inspired journey into the political future of the world’s most powerful figure – it’s important to understand the bigger cosmic picture under which these figures would hold office.

Pluto Enters Aquarius on November 19th!

Pluto will go back into Aquarius (it had a moment from Jan -Sept of this year) on November 19th and stay there until March 8th, 2043.

Yes nearly 20 years!

When Pluto enters Aquarius, it brings huge changes in information technology, data, science, community and connection and systems of power. Ahem — Systems. Of. Power.

It’s also a transit that is very much concerned with the 99%, the underdog and the collective of humanity as a whole.

So whomever takes office for the next (4 or 8) years will have a very, very full plate on their hands and can expect much upheaval and nonstop drama and action in every direction.

Since this transit only happens every 240+ years it’s important to take a look back to see some of the huge shifts that happened the last time it was in place which was 1778-1798.

Here’s some of the larger changes (but certainly not all) that took place during this brief period of only two decades:

The American Revolution

The French Revolution (which resulted in the take down of the French Monarchy)

Start of the Industrial Revolution

These events changed the very fabric of society and the world was literally never the same again.

So when we look at what we can expect from either of these Presidential nominees we must look through the dual lens of their individual Sun Signs ruling through a Pluto in Aquarius cosmo overlay.

Donald Trump

Source: JIM WATSON /AFP / Getty

Let’s start with the former President Donald Trump.

Although we’ve experienced his Presidency before, today we want to take a look at how being born under the sign of Gemini could affect our experiences of his leadership.

If Donald Trump were president, considering his Gemini traits, we might expect a focus on communication and adaptability. Geminis are known for their charisma, wit, and sociability, which could manifest in his ability to engage with a wide range of audiences and convey his messages effectively.

Which is also one of the reasons why he made the smooth transition from Business Tycoon to Reality TV Star. This man was frankly made for the public eye, no matter the arena.

We will be entertained or frustrated or both if Trump is at the helm no matter what.

Now his Gemini nature might lead to a dynamic (or problematic depending on who you ask ) leadership style, with a tendency to shift positions or strategies as circumstances change. This could result in a more flexible approach to governance, but it might also create unpredictability. Geminis often thrive on new ideas and experiences, so his administration might prioritize innovation and a fast-paced agenda.

I suspect that we would see a rapid array of advances in tech under his helm which could be a good thing depending on what the tech actually solves for the collective as a whole.

Additionally, Geminis can be seen as dualistic, which could lead to a focus on appealing to different factions within the party or even the broader electorate. Overall, his presidency might be characterized by vibrant communication, a focus on personal connection, and a willingness to adapt to new developments.

However, because he’s known for his blunt way of speaking and his questionable ties to things like Project 2025, it’s safe to say that unpredictability will be the name of the game with him.

Not to mention that if anyone would be willing to revoke some of the hard won rights of various Americans it would most likely be Trump who has a strong focus on Making America Great Again! (Which conveniently forgets that America wasn’t so great for a large swath of Americans back in the day.)

With these personality traits, Donald Trump would probably fly very well under the dizzying and chaotic pressure of a Pluto in Aquarius transit – but who would benefit the most from his leadership is the big question at hand…

Kamala Harris

Source: REBECCA DROKE/AFP / Getty

If Kamala Harris were president and we consider her Libra traits, we might expect her to emphasize diplomacy, fairness, and collaboration. Libras are known for their strong sense of justice and desire for balance, so she might focus on social equity and policy initiatives aimed at reducing inequality. Harris would likely work to build connections across party lines and find input from diverse groups very important.

If you’ve been following her on the campaign trail you’ll notice that she spotlights women’s rights, supporting small businesses, funding for first time home-buyers and even help with childcare.

However Libras are notorious for trying to ride a fence (or tow the line )and frankly I wouldn’t hold my breath that the current wars in Palestine and Ukraine would see a cease fire under her Presidency.

But Libras often seek harmony, which might lead her to work on initiatives that promote unity and bridge divides in the country which is sorely needed And her charismatic nature (who doesn’t find her laugh contagious?) could help her connect with people and rally support for her policies which will be super important under this Pluto in Aquarius transit.

Of course, while astrological traits can be fun to consider, her actual leadership would also be shaped by her experiences, values, and the challenges of the time.

In the end, no matter who wins, this will be one of the most important Presidencies ever since Pluto in Aquarius will be at the helm and the USA is currently undergoing major changes: from the country’s shifting population, to our move to digital currency to hard won rights of all types of groups coming under fire.

Not to mention that there are more than 400 seats in the House of Representatives up for grab…with stakes this high across the board the only outcome we can count on is change, change and more change.

It’s Election Day, and, apparently, American voters couldn’t even get up in the morning, stretch, and pour themselves a cup of coffee before shenanigans started to threaten the democratic process.

Ballot

Source: John Moore / Getty

According to USA Today, the FBI has reported bomb threats at polling locations in several states, and while the threats have all been deemed “non-credible,” for folks who just want to cast their ballots in peace, it’s still concerning.

11 Alive reported that In Georgia, bomb threats were called into five separate voting locations, according to Fulton County Election Director Nadine Williams, who didn’t specify all five locations, but noted that two of those locations, Union City: Etris-Darnell Senior Center and C.H. Gullatt Elementary School, were evacuated for 30 minutes. Williams said the county is working to obtain a court order to allow the two locations to stay open 30 extra minutes tonight to account for the delay.

So, who is behind the “non-credible” threats? It wouldn’t be surprising if it were some of the same MAGA enthusiasts who were causing problems at the polls during early voting, but, according to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, it wasn’t the MAGAts this time, it was the Russians.

From USA Today:

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger confirmed Tuesday a bomb threat was made against a polling place, but he said it was of Russian origin and not credible. Raffensperger later clarified in a subsequent press conference that the threat affected between five and seven precincts in multiple Georgia counties.

“In the interest of public safety, you always check that out,” Raffensperger said.

“They’re up to mischief it seems,” he added, about the Russians. “They don’t want us to have a smooth, fair and accurate election.”

Raffensperger indicated the federal government was involved in identifying the threat, but declined to elaborate further on which law enforcement agencies responded or how he knew the threat came from Russia. He said the threat was dealt with Tuesday morning and law enforcement was on top of it.

The FBI announced Tuesday that bomb threats were made to polling locations in several states, and many of the threats “appear to originate from Russian email domains.”

Hmmm. What is it about Trump-related elections that Russian interlopers find so compelling that they always seem to be getting themselves involved?

You know what? Don’t answer that. Just get out and vote if you haven’t already!

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ children are still standing by his side, and they’re not being shy about their support.

2023 MTV Video Music Awards - Arrivals

The disgraced music mogul’s children posted a video to their Instagram pages showing a phone call with their father on his birthday on Monday, Nov. 4. Combs currently remains behind bars following his arrest on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The rapper’s children–Quincy, 33, Justin, 30, Christian, 26, and twins D’Lila and Jessie, 17–shared a Reel on his Instagram of them and their baby sibling, 2-year-old Love, calling their dad in prison to wish him a happy birthday. The video shows the older kids helping their baby sister sing to their dad, which she does enthusiastically.

Their other sister Chance, 18, was not there in person, but was still in attendance as she watched on another phone via FaceTime.

“I love you all, I love you all so much,” Combs says over the phone after Love finishes her song. “I can’t wait to see ya’ll. I can’t wait to see ya’ll. I just want to say I’m proud of ya’ll, especially the girls— I mean, all of ya’ll.”

“But just for being strong,” he continued. “Thank you all for being strong, thank you all for being by my side, supporting me, I love ya’ll. I get the best family in the world. My birthday, I’m happy. Thank you all for giving me this call. Thank you very much. I love you all.”

“Can’t wait to see you in a couple of days,” Justin says to his dad, to which he replies, “Aight, see you in a couple of days.”

After that, Love stuffed her face into the birthday cake, taking a bite out of the frosting.

“Pops, I love you. She’s eating the cake so you ain’t gonna have none left,” Quincy says.

“Get it, get it for Daddy,” Combs replied. “I love you.”

This comes just a couple weeks after six of Combs’ seven children shared a joint statement supporting their father in the wake of his indictment.

“The past month has devastated our family,” the Instagram post began. “Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media.”

The statement continued: “We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD. Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, Jessie & D’Lila.”

What does it say about Donald Trump when his billionaire bosom buddy, Elon Musk, has to trick people, mostly Black people, into canvassing for the Trump campaign?

Elon Musk Holds Town Hall With Pennsylvania Voters in Lancaster

Source: Samuel Corum / Getty

According to The Guardian, Musk’s get-out-the-vote effort for Trump has come under fire after paid canvases reported that they actually didn’t know who they were canvassing for until they were already on the job, and that they were basically transported paddy wagon-style in conditions that were unsafe and demeaning.

From the Guardian:

Workers recruited by Musk’s America Pac to canvass in the battleground state of Michigan only discovered they were working for the Space X and Tesla entrepreneur to drum up voter turnout for Trump after signing non-disclosure agreements, Wired reported.

“I knew nothing of the job, or much of the job description, other than going door to door and asking the voters who are they voting for,” a canvasser who was flown to Michigan from another state told the website. “Then, after I signed over an NDA, is when I found out we are for Republicans and with Trump.”

The canvassers also said they faced threats to their working conditions if they failed to meet stringent door-knocking targets.

The disclosure comes after the Guardian revealed serious question marks about Musk’s voter turnout effort in Nevada and Arizona amid reports that up to 25% of reported door knocks in the state could be fraudulent.

Not only were canvassers apparently unaware that they were stumping for Trump, but one recruit said he didn’t know Musk was involved in until they “overheard my supervisor and a few others mention Elon Musk” by name. It’s almost as if Apartheid Vader understands that people, especially Black people, don’t like him or his rust-orange-tinted Klan-ish comrade.

Canvassers recruited for Musk’s political Blaxploitation ring also reported being told to knock on 1,000 doors a week and to achieve a 17-22% engagement rate, and if they didn’t meet that quota, they would end up paying for their own accommodations, including travel around Michigan, motel rooms and their flights home.

“What’s gonna happen is, they’re gonna stop paying for these [motel] rooms, and then you’re gonna end up having to pay for it yourself,” a manager is heard telling recruits in a recording obtained by Wired. “You can’t do that with no money.”

Republican Presidential Candidate Former President Trump Holds Rally In Butler, Pennsylvania

Source: Anna Moneymaker / Getty

The Guardian noted that none of the recruits featured in the report had valid driver’s licenses, which would mean they were dependent on the transportation provided for them. Those recruits said they were promised they would have rental cars to ride around Michigan neighborhoods with, but, instead, they were driven around in the back of U-Haul vans with no seat belts and were dropped off 40 minutes apart from each other so they could go knocking on the doors of strangers in communities they were unfamiliar with.

More from the Guardian:

A video purportedly shot from inside a van showed mostly Black workers separated from the driver by a cage-like structure. The driver was recorded as telling the workers that he was in pain and having difficulty driving.

“I just had surgery, bro,” the U-Haul driver told the canvassers. “Like half of my foot is cut off.”

Bruh what in the Kunta Kinte?

It appears that Musk’s political action committee is a step or two shy of tricking Black people into sharecropping. It’s worth mentioning that the news of his alleged exploits in Michigan comes shortly after his PAC came under fire in Pennsylvania, where a judge has summoned him to appear in court to answer for a lawsuit challenging the legality of his $1m sweepstakes giveaway for registered (Trump) voters who sign his petition on free speech. (Because Phony Stark is all about free speech, as long as you’re not anti-Trump, journalists who make him look stupid, or non-profit organizers who reported on how racist Twitter (now X) became under his ownership.)

It’s almost as if Elon Musk’s entire existence in politics is one yuge scam, and his reputation is so shady that he has to hustle victims into working for him and Trump.

Sad.
