“Sunday he was having problems with his breathing, they were able to resuscitate him and a short time later his heart stopped.”

TLC also released a statement expressing their condolences to the Milliken family:

“TLC is saddened to share that Sean Milliken has passed away. Viewers first met Sean in 2016 on ‘My 600-lb Life’ when he weighed over 900-lbs. Over the course of his weight loss journey, he victoriously lost over 400-lbs.”

Sean’s health reportedly declined after his mom died of kidney disease in 2017.  TLC released an old clip of Sean from last summer when they caught up with him after his mother’s death.

Prayers up for rest of the Milliken family.

Captain Marvel Gets Swarmed With Misogynist Reviews

Captain Marvel doesn’t come out until next month, but the film’s Rotten Tomatoes page is already filled with negative reviews. The reviews aren’t about the actual movie, though, but the movie’s lead, Brie Larson, and some comments she made that rubbed some angry white dudes the wrong way (go figure).

When speaking on the nature of press junkets recently, Larson advocated for opportunities for a more diverse community of film critics and journalists. Her most recent comments went down during an interview in the March 2019 issue of British Marie Claire, where Brie gave her take on the “overwhelmingly white male” representation among film critics–she even reached out to Dr. Stacy Smith from USC’s Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, whose 2017 study revealed that 80 percent of film critics were men; Top critics who are women of color make up only 2.5 percent.

This isn’t the first time Larson has made her stance on the issue of diversity and inclusivity known. Last June, she expressed her concerns during a speech at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards, highlighting how white males aren’t always be the right audience to review every single type film.

“I don’t need a 40-year-old white dude to tell me what didn’t work about A Wrinkle in Time,” she said. “It wasn’t made for him! I want to know what it meant to women of color, biracial women, to teen women of color.” She goes on to clarify: “Am I saying I hate white dudes? No, I am not. What I am saying is if you make a movie that is a love letter to women of color, there is an insanely low chance a woman of color will have a chance to see your movie, and review your movie.”

These comments have angered white men who desperately need something to be angry about, and thus, the Rotten Tomatoes page of a film that’s not even out yet gets bombarded with negative reviews.

Here’s a few examples of these “reviews”:

“Once Brie went on an anti-White male tirade I lost interest in this movie. What should I pay to see a woman who hates White men.”

“Larson has made it clear…men need not attend this movie.”

“Why Marvel decided to cast a very vocal racist and sexist aimed at white males, I’ll never know.”

“Larson’s sexist and racist attitudes don’t want me to spend money on this anyway, so here you go, Ms. Larson.”

“Wish the lead actress wouldn’t have injected her dislike of white men into the discussion. A complete turnoff.”

“as a white male i dont think Brie would want me watching this movie”

Well, you get the idea.

Once again, white men are threatened by the idea that someone other than them should also have a seat at the table. Don’t worry, we won’t miss y’all at the movie theaters on March 8.

BASKETBALL: NBA 97/98 CHICAGO BULLS, 07.11.97

Remember when Michael Jordan was just a soft spoken college student trying to navigate his newfound fame? It’s hard to remember a time when he wasn’t already established as the greatest athlete ever.

[embedded content]

But just like all the athletes we’ve seem come up in the game, MJ wasn’t always the star we know and love today. Literally, ask anyone you know “who’s the greatest Basketball player ever” and even folks who aren’t into the game will most likely say Michael Jordan.

Just ask folks on Reddit who live for great debates like these. One Jordan stan wrote,

“It was almost like he was superhuman. He excelled in every skill of the game. He may have been the best offensive player and the best defensive player at his position of shooting guard.

Of his time, Bird, Magic, Kareem and Olajuwon were great, but they could not dominate the game and league like Jordan could and did.”

Another Reddit user added:

“Jordan has it all. He is the most accomplished athlete on the planet and by far one of the most famous one too amongst the audience outside America. Nobody holds a perfect record like he does in his respective sport. He has accomplished everything NBA has to offer.

The thing that makes Michael even more charismatic is the brand he created that everybody seems to love, the “Air Jordan” sneaker series.”

Speaking of Air Jordan, some would say MJ’s success with his Jordan Brand is one thing that most athletes before and after him weren’t able to accomplish. Jordan sneakers have become a cultural phenomenon, especially in the Black community. Think about it — Nike re-releases old designs and models of their shoes under the Air Jordan brand, and they still sell like hot cakes.

Twitter user @Styledbykmilan joked, “Michael Jordan: I don’t have to design any new shoes. I’ll just rerelease the old ones and call them “retro”. She has a point, and the brilliant marketing plot has made MJ a very rich man.  As of 2019, sources say his net worth is estimated at around 1.9 billion dollars.

In honor of the G.O.A.T.s birthday, let’s dig into the archives and take a look back at a different time— when Reagan was President, movie tickets cost $2.50 and Michael Jordan was a young college student unsure of his future in the NBA. Moral of the story, everyone has potential to be the greatest.

In the words of NIKE, just do it.

Tiffany Haddish Has An Album In The Works

Tiffany Haddish is trying to expand her portfolio and in a recent interview with Glamour, the comedian revealed that she’s working on an album.

The Girls Trip actress might already have a leg-up in the music game–she was up for a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for her The Last Black Unicorn audiobook last year. She also sings a song in her upcoming film Lego Movie 2, where she plays Queen Watevra Wa’Nab.

Although Haddish ended up losing her shot at a Grammy to former President Jimmy Carter for his audiobook, she said that the Grammy nomination gave her the confidence she needed in order to give singing a serious shot. “It really inspired me. Like, ‘Wow if I can [get] nominated for a Grammy for telling my truth, what can I get if I really just apply myself and my vocal skills?’” she explained.

As far as titles go, the comedian is thinking of going with something that pays tribute to her current stand up tour, She Ready. She revealed, “It will probably be the ‘She Ready’ album or ‘The She Ready Experience’ or ‘The We Ready Album.’”

When it comes to features, the up-and-coming singer ahas hopes of Cardi B being featured on her new album. “I’m trying to get her on a couple of tracks,” she said before doing an impression of the rapper’s famous sound effects. “I’m like ‘She ready, brrrrrrr!”

Haddish assures both herself and those who might listen to the album that she’s just determined to have a good time. “I’m going to see what happens. It might be really great, it might not. But who cares, right? You’ve got to give it a shot.”

Tammy Rivera “Sex With You”

Tammy Rivera is dropping another track. After releasing her debut track “All These Kisses” Tammy’s dropped “Sex With You.” According to Tammy, the Smash David produced song is a change from what fans would expect.

“Sex With You is something different outside of what people usually expect from me. Most people look at me as a wife, a mother and business woman but that doesn’t mean you can’t be still be sexy in order to keep a successful marriage.

I’m kind of an old school kinda girl and chivalry is still in high demand for me, but this song gives me a chance to switch the roles in my marriage and mess with my husband’s head a little. You know after 8 years of being together and 5 years married, I can run out of tricks and Sex With You was one of those tricks for me”

Man Accidentally Runs Over His Own Wife On Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day can be a point of contention for a lot of relationships–but for one couple in Pennsylvania, things turned out to be a lot worse than just not getting the right flowers or agreeing on where to go to dinner.

One husband has been left stunned after the events of a tragic accident in the Lehigh Valley after police say that he ran over his wife. The fatal incident happened around 3 p.m. on Thursday, on the 1200 block of Anna Marie Street in Palmer Township, a township in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

This all happened when 66-year-old Terry Mitchell let his wife Debra out of the vehicle, according to reports from police. After leaving the vehicle, she then fell to the ground, possibly due to a medical issue, while walking toward the back of the car.

Police go on to say that after she fell, Debra was out of view of her husband and Mitchell ended up running her over her as he reversed and backed out of the driveway. She was then pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have since ruled this tragedy to be an accident.

Many men wish death upon 50 Cent, including Commanding Officer Emanuel Gonzalez who reportedly ordered NYPD cops to shoot 50 on sight. Sources say that Gonzalez directed the hit last June during roll call at the 72nd Precinct when Fif was scheduled to attend an NYPD boxing match in the Bronx.

New York Daily news reports:

Gonzalez said, “Shoot him on sight.” Adding weight to the IAB investigation is that the alleged threat came at a time Gonzalez had an ongoing beef with the rapper, whose given name is Curtis Jackson. A month before the roll call, Gonzalez filed an aggravated harassment complaint, claiming 50 Cent threatened him on Instagram. [50 accused] Gonzalez of shaking down the owner of the Sunset Park club Love and Lust — one of 50 Cent’s favorite haunts — when he wrote “Get the strap,” a slang term for “get a gun.”

Gonzalez, a 30-year veteran of the police force, insisted that he was just joking, but higher ups are currently investigating the situation. As for 50, his reps tell TMZ that “Mr. Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward.”

Blue Face must be so proud right now. Two of the biggest female rappers in the game, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, have hopped on his ‘Thotiana’ track and now Young M.A. is taking a swing at remixing the hot song.

On Friday, the Brooklyn rapper hopped on Instagram Live to tease her verse on the track, and it looks like Nicki is wants her to release it ASAP. The Barb commented,

“u better drop this. Ain’t nobody bout ta play wit u”

M.A.’s cover of the song comes just a day after Blue Face dropped the official remix with Cardi B. Bardi gang has been attacking the Barbz all week, claiming that Nicki strategically released her unofficial remix the same week as Cardi just to rain on her parade.

But did it work? And will Young M.A. drop her ‘Thotiana’ cover? We hope so.

Student Loan Payments May Come Directly Out Of Your Paycheck In The Future

According to Fox29, your student loan payments could reportedly be automatically deducted from your paycheck every month if a new proposal from Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander actually becomes a law.

Alexander laid out his vision in a speech earlier this month, looking to completely overhaul the system for financial aid and student loan repayments. A move that could ultimately affect up to 40 million borrowers, who owe a collective $1.5 trillion in outstanding student loan debt.

Alexander proposed a repayment plan based on a borrower’s income. It would never require the borrower to make payments of more than 10 percent on their income, he said.
