Here’s another week of astrological forecasts, courtesy of our favorite — Psychic Zya.

Astro Overview:

This week the big astrology show is the second eclipse in a week. You’ll recall eclipses are time periods of intense transformation. The sun, moon and earth do a pretty dramatic metaphysical and physical dance that influences the vibration of the planet and its inhabitants. This week on October 2nd we have a Libra Solar Eclipse. This eclipse will focus on new partnerships, relationships, alliances, and commitments that not only excite you but open up big new opportunities for your life.

With this in mind I chose to look at what romantic opportunities lie ahead for each sign. Take note that you should also read the horoscope for your Moon and Venus signs to get a full scope of what you can expect.

A super easy but powerful ritual to call in Divine Union under this eclipse looks like this: Get a pink candle, light it and write out a list of what you want in a romantic partnership. Dribble some rose essential oil (or substitute coconut oil) on the paper and burn the list with the flame of the candle. And then go and take a nice soak while envisioning the love that you seek.

If you’re already partnered then you and your partner should do this ritual together — with the list consisting of where you want the relationship to grow.

We are now headed into the Fall’s eclipse season.

Eclipses are special events when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon which causes the Moon to disappear and casts a shadow over the moon.

Astrologically speaking eclipses are important cosmic events that bring out important changes and transformations.

This week on the 17th of this week we have a Lunar eclipse and a Full Moon that will be in Pisces.

And then in two weeks on October 2nd we have a solar eclipse with a New Moon in Libra.

This week’s Lunar eclipse is for the lovers, the mystics and the dreamers.

Pisces always represents the flow of the divine feminine and masculine while also highlighting what spiritual aspects of ourselves need developing.

It likes to delve into our psyches and force us to really question who we are at a soul level.

If you’ve been doing any spiritual bypassing and/or refusing to heal your shadow wounds – you will now be forced to stop this behavior.

And most likely it won’t be a soft “stop”…

Prepare for your delusions to be shattered…

The best way to use this energy is to simply pay attention to your emotions, your intuition and the people in your life who show up at this time and how they show up.

Also feel free to spin the block back to your vision board from January and see how things are coming along.

Since this is such a powerful transit I’m giving each sign an Eclipse affirmation.

Here’s a quick but powerful Eclipse Ritual: The best way to use this is to spend at least 30 minutes on the day of the eclipse in quiet contemplation and meditation. Grab your fave cup of tea and a crystal of your choice and chant the meditation out loud for at least 10 mins non-stop.

Afterwards you can journal quietly whatever thoughts and feelings come up for you.

Then continue to chant the affirmation first thing in the morning for ten minutes until the next eclipse on the 2nd of October.

Pay attention to signs from the universe, who pops up in your life and who exits along with your general emotional state.

Many of you have done everything but tend to your inner child, set boundaries and stop your people-pleasing ways. Well this will be coming to an abrupt end and most likely erupt– be triggered from some sort of family squabble with either the lead matriarch or patriarch of your family. On this episode of The Adult ‘Hood podcast, Lexi Felder and Alex “Alejandro” Ford run down their list of HBCU homecoming do’s and don’ts. The HBCU grads swap stories from past homecomings and dive into some of the unspoken rules of this time-honored tradition. Lexi, who went to Clark Atlanta, and Alejandro, who went to Hampton, have been to their fair share of homecomings at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) — a spirited celebration of Black excellence and a chance for students, alumni and the community to come together.

The elder millennials reflect on their homecoming experiences and how the culture has evolved. What hasn’t changed over the years is how they enjoy their favorite foods — especially at the tailgate. “As a geriatric millennial, the older I get, the more I realize that I can’t really eat what I love like I used to without experiencing occasional heartburn,” Alejandro says. The high school “band geeks” reminisce about their HBCUs and bond over relatable moments like running into exes and being the plus one at the tailgate. After years of going to HBCU homecomings, they go over some of the do’s and don’ts of this annual celebration.

1. If you run into a past relationship or situationship, introduce yourself to their significant other first.

The Adult ‘Hood hosts agree that a clear introduction can break the ice and prevent awkward situations.

“If there’s somebody that you had a relationship with, you must present yourself to their boo first,” Alejandro says. “Some people want to talk to the person that they have history with and ignore the significant other, which could potentially cause problems on both ends.”

2. You don’t have to connect with everybody.

Homecomings are a chance to reconnect with old friends and meet new people. That said, you don’t have to be best friends with everyone.

“Sometimes people feel like they need to connect with you beyond y’all talking for three minutes,” says Alejandro. “Normalize good conversations, good moments with people, and keep it moving.”

“You don’t have to say, ‘We should hang out!’ You don’t have to exchange numbers. What you can say is, ‘I’ll see you next homecoming,’” Lexi adds.

3. Don’t enter a tailgate unless you were invited by someone in the tent.

The rules of the tailgate are simple. Don’t get caught in a tent uninvited. There’s a way to navigate your way to a plate of food without getting the third degree.

“The rule as it was explained to me is, you must be invited by someone in the tent who deems you worthy,” says Alejandro. “Or sometimes people will bring you a plate outside of the tailgate.”

“I would say don’t go into those tents if you’re not a part of the organization or somebody from that organization didn’t invite you,” Lexi adds.

4. Don’t rep your HBCU at another school’s homecoming — unless you want the attention.

Wearing your school pride on your sleeve at another school’s homecoming will get you plenty of attention — if that’s what you’re into, Alejandro says. The Hampton grad prefers to keep his outfit neutral when he’s homecoming-hopping. Walking around in your school’s merch is an open invitation to discuss your alma mater on repeat. “You could get away with a hat,” he suggests.
