Since making her debut this year, Chlöe has blossomed into a solo star and sex symbol.

While the singer makes no apologies for the bootylicious visuals that accompany her “Have Mercy” harmonies, People reports that she’s putting the “grown” in “grown and sexy” these days. In an appearance this week on Tha God’s Honest Truth with ‘Charlamagne’ Tha God, Chlöe discussed dealing with controversy in the public eye and prioritizing her mental health.

“I am learning that I have to be full before I can give myself to others,” she told Charlamagne. “My mental health is very important. And when you constantly feel like you have to please people and put others before you, you will start to feel very insecure.”

“You say you have insecurities, but people can’t tell from the way you move,” Charlemagne said before asking whether she’s affected by the backlash, like responses to her viral lollipop video that she later deleted from her social media.

“Honestly, in the beginning it didn’t affect me. I’m human, of course, it affects me sometimes, but the reason why I deleted it wasn’t ’cause of what people were saying.  It’s just, I didn’t want people to just go to my page and see that,” Chlöe explained.

“You know, social media is whatever. I’m 23, I’m a grown woman and I think it’s so cool how we can find ourselves. And I’m finding myself right now and figuring out what serves me best. I’m just doing it under a microscope while all of you all get to do it without everyone watching.” Check out the interview clip below.

The singer went on to say that her self-care journey also includes a time-out from Twitter, which she describes as “literally comments just all in your face the whole time.”

“I have my burner Twitter that I still go on to watch funny videos,” Chlöe continued. “I have my TikTok. I’ll go on my video ones and I love Instagram. But Twitter, I was like, ‘Let me just take a break from Twitter.’

Without distractions like Twitter and trying to please the public, Chlöe plans to focus on developing herself as an artist. Even though Beyoncé’s blessing goes a long way, the 23-year-old isn’t taking any of her solo success for granted.

“Honestly, I hope to make music that people like, but I didn’t expect it to become mainstream and people actually like it on the radio and have it become the number one, most added,” she said. “So that’s very surreal. And it’s just my first song. I’m technically a brand new artist, and that’s really just the tip of the iceberg.”

Pop culture this year saw more than its fair share of controversy and tragedy. These moments defined the world of entertainment in 2021.

Doja Cat missed New York’s Jingle Ball, but the energy was still merry, with performances from Lil Nax X, Jonas Brothers, Kane Brown and more.

Tavares died at his home in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts on Wednesday, two days before his 80th birthday. The cause was not immediately clear.

On Thursday, the sports world was rocked and saddened by the news that former NFL star and Pro Bowl wide receiver Demaryius Thomas had died at age 33.

ESPN reported that Thomas, who played primarily for the Denver Broncos, was found dead in his Roswell, Georgia, home and, according to Roswell police, “preliminary reports indicated Thomas’ death might have resulted from a medical issue.”

In fact, Thomas’ cousin, LaTonya Bonseigneur, told the Associated Press that Thomas “had been suffering from seizures for over a year, and we believe he had a seizure when he was showering.”

“He was alone and a friend couldn’t get hold of him, so he called his driver, who has a key because of these seizures, and he went into his home and found him in the shower,” she continued. “We’re not sure when he died. We just spoke with him yesterday (Wednesday).”

According to AOL.com, Thomas’ medical issues began after he suffered a car crash in 2019. His death comes nearly six months after he announced his retirement in June via video message posted to the Broncos’ Twitter account, but he hadn’t played in the NFL since 2019 when he played 11 games for the New York Jets, according to AP.

NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, who played with Thomas on the Broncos, celebrated and mourned his teammate in a tribute he posted to Twitter Friday.

Sports journalists Nicki Jhabvala and Adam Shefter also joined others in expressing their sadness over Thomas’ death while celebrating his career as well as his life on and off the field.

“We were very much looking forward to celebrating Demaryius for years to come as one of the greatest players in franchise history,” the Broncos, which Thomas helped secure a Super Bowl victory in 2015, said in a statement reported by AP. “Demaryius’ humility, warmth, kindness and infectious smile will always be remembered by those who knew him and loved him.”

Rest well, Demaryius Thomas. You will be sorely missed.

On the new album, “Barn,” from Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Young makes known his concerns about political divisiveness, climate change and COVID-19.

The “Halo” crooner shared a few special moments from Jay’s birthday getaway on Instagram for fans. In one photo, the star dazzled in a Gucci and Balengcia suit as she posed alongside The Roc Nation founder.

One black and white gif featured in Bey’s slide show captured the power couple exchanging a big ole kiss as Jay wrapped one arm around the 28-time Grammy-award-winning artist.

The Houston native didn’t include a caption for the PDA-filled flicks, but on her website, Bey shared a few more tender moments from the trip writing, “Birthday weekend for the goat.”

The legendary Brooklyn emcee’s birthday was on Dec. 4.

Very rarely do we get to see a glimpse of the pair’s intimate side, but in recent months, it seems as though Bey and Jay have been slowly letting fans in on their sacred union. Back in September, the singer and “The Blue Print” rapper paid tribute to their near 20-year long marriage in a lovey-dovey campaign with Tiffany & Co entitled ABOUT LOVE.

“Beyoncé and JAY-Z are the epitome of the modern love story. As a brand that has always stood for love, strength and self-expression, we could not think of a more iconic couple that better represents Tiffany’s values,” Alexandre Arnault, the EVP of product and communications at Tiffany & Co., said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Jay and Bey met in 1999 when the star was just 18-years-old according to USA Today. A year later, they began dating. The couple’s romance quickly blossomed over into their music careers with the two collaborating on classics like 2002’s “03 Bonnie and Clyde” and “Crazy in Love” the following year. In 2008, the couple finally tied the knot on April 4.

Beyonce welcomed her firstborn child Blue Ivy with the famed rapper in January of 2012. Five years later, she surprised fans with the birth of her twin babies Rumi and Sir in June 2017.

Earlier this month, fans got to see a glimpse of the couple’s daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi, sporting a few pieces from Bey’s forthcoming IVY PARK collaboration with Adidas.

Cheers to Beyoncé and Jay-Z!
