Well, It looks like Wendy Williams is doing much better given her long hiatus away from daytime television and that turbulent financial battle with Wells Fargo.
On May 2, the media maven was spotted out partying it up during the Met Gala afterparty at the Standard Hotel in New York City. Donning a red strapped dress and an icy diamond-encrusted “W” chain, the 57-year-old was all smiles as she enjoyed the lavish event alongside her close friend Jason Lee, who is the founder of Hollywood Unlocked.
TMZ caught up with the star as she was entering the hotel and she told the outlet that fans can expect her to return back to The Wendy Williams Show sooner than later.
“The Wendy Williams Show lives forever,” the former radio host said when asked when she would be making her big return back to TV.
The “Ask Wendy” host also yelled out a resounding “YES!” when the TMZ reporter questioned whether she would be back on air come September.
As previously reported, Sherri Shepherd is expected to launch her new talk show “Sherri,” in September, but Wendy’s rep Howard Bragman said that the decision could change depending on her health.
During an interview with Good Morning America in March, the famous hostess promised that she would return to daytime talk show television “bigger and brighter than ever,” and it looks like she’s making good on that commitment.
Whatever the case may be, It’s really great to see Williams in better spirits because she has gone through A LOT this year. The Hot 97 radio alum was rumored to have dementia and was even photographed wheelchair-bound at one point.
Back in February, Williams filed for a temporary restraining order against Wells Fargo demanding for the bank to “reopen any frozen accounts or assets” after her former financial advisor claimed she was “incapacitated” and wasn’t in the best mental state to manage her own finances. In court filings, the famous TV host said that she suffered financial hardship “due to her inability to make payments on outstanding debts and other financial obligations.”
Wendy Williams Happily Attended A Met Gala After Party
On Monday, Williams appeared to be chipper and back to her normal self. Jason Lee captured the media icon smiling in an Instagram video posted to his account.
“Came to New York for the Met Gala but I wasn’t going to come outside without the sexiest date in New York City,” Lee said, before panning the camera toward a bunny ears wearing Wendy and asking, “How you doing?”
Williams sent fans in the comment section into a frenzy when she replied in her iconic voice:
“How you doing?”
“Yesssssssssss this Made my heart so happy come thru with the queen love.”
“Ready,” she captioned the photo.
Do you think Wendy Williams will be back on air soon? Sound off in the comments.
Ashley Darby of The Real Housewives of Potomac recently opened up about her separation from her husband of eight years Michael Darby and surprisingly, the estranged couple is still living together amid the split.
Ashley, 33, dropped the bombshell confession while speaking with FOX 5 DC this week.
“My kids are pretty young. My son is 2, my other son is 1, so they don’t really have an awareness,” said the housewife whose known for her love of Corona beer. “Michael and I are still living together, we’re still under the same roof so no difference for them,” she explained of their unconventional living arrangement.
Fans will get to see the ups and downs of Ashley and her ex-husband’s marriage in the forthcoming season of RHOP, according to the mother of two.
“It does limit a lot of what I can disclose here. They’re documenting and all of that is unfolding,” she explained.
Ashley and Michael jumped the broom in 2014 and two years later, the couple made their reality TV debut on RHOP in 2016. The former married couple has been at the center of drama on the hit Bravo series due to sexual assault allegations brought forth against Michael. He was also accused of making sexual comments about another man during a night out drinking.
Since then, the 62-year-old has vehemently denied the claims and his prior felony and assault charges for the alleged sexual misconduct incident were dismissed because of insufficient evidence. The ex-husband and wife share two young sons together.
When asked how she was processing the recent split, Ashley told the show’s hosts that she wasn’t “really taking it in. “
She continued:
“Even though I’m a public figure and I put so much of myself out there for public consumption, ultimately–especially now that I have kids, what is most important is their well-being and my well-being. So, I appreciate the support I’m getting. That’s nice and that’s all I can ask for.”
As previously reported, on April 19, Ashley issued a statement to the Daily Dish announcing her decision to part ways with Michael.
“We are aware that there will be many speculative views as to why we have made this decision. People will be quick to assume that the causes were too much intrusion by reality TV into the most personal parts of our lives, age gap issues, cultural problems, or child-rearing differences,” the statement read.
“Pieces of all these may have affected our pure love for each other, but no one reason is the root cause of our mutual decision to go our separate ways, ” the statement continued, before adding:
“We are now both at very different stages in our lives and have different goals for our futures.
“There’s been a visceral disconnect between them as a couple. For Ashley, the inconsistencies within the relationship and trust issues led to the split.” The close confidante added that Ashley was ready to move from the marriage and to start dating again.
“She considers herself single and has been asking to be set up on dates,” the source said, adding.
This is a lot!

Wow that was wild. There were so many jaw droppers. We know Michael Blackson can’t be serious about getting one sidechick every month. And how about Claudia’s boyfriend saying he’s not sexually attracted to her?! We definitely didn’t expect the AJ to come so hard at Adjua about Styles’ infidelity. Was that an admission of emotional cheating from Shamari? Keonna definitely has been through it with Swaggy P. Do you think he’ll finally get it right or lose her for good? What do y’all think about Jess and Claudia’s boyfriends? Do y’all think some of these celebrity women definitely need to ego check the civilians they brought along?
Catch-up on the first season of VH1’s Couples Retreat on the official series page, and the VH1 App.
