Wendy Williams 50th Birthday Celebration

Talk show titan Wendy Williams may be taking a bit of downtime from hosting, but she’s most definitely not out. The Shade Room reports that Wendy assured fans that she “absolutely” plans to return to her show and isn’t checking for Sherri Shepherd, who will take over the time slot with her own upcoming show.

As a guest host of The Wendy Williams show since her absence began last year, Fat Joe was the perfect person to get the behind-the-scenes info from Wendy herself in a recent interview.

When asked if she missed coming to the show, Wendy said, “I wish I was there right now to talk about it, and talk about it with you. But, you know what? They already put people there like you.You guys are already in position. I’m glad I’m able to talk about when I come back.”

Wendy said she’s “absolutely” planning a comeback to The Wendy Williams Show. Joe asked about replacing her in the line-up. It seemed like Wendy’s not bothered by Sherri doing her thing during the hiatus, but the veteran host is also not going to watch the new show.

“I [like] her, but I won’t be watching her because I know what she’s gonna be doing and that’s really not my thing. Ummm, you know? You know what I’m saying? Anyway.”

Sherri responded to the slightly shady answer on IG Live, ultimately wishing Wendy well while she focuses on bigger issues.

“She’s not well. So, it’s just a lot going on in Wendy’s life. This when you need your friends. You need your family. You need people who love you. So, all I can do over here is pray for Wendy,” Sherri said.

The former host of The View went on to reflect on their friendly relationship in the past but clarified that Wendy was never really friends with celebrities because “it would make it hard for her to talk about them.”

While the ladies are keeping it classy, die-hard fans are impatiently waiting for Wendy to reclaim her throne when the dust settles.

Despite ongoing concerns and legal disputes about Wendy’s health, last week she showed up and showed out at the Met Gala. She definitely looks ready for a triumphant return sometime soon.

Will you be watching Sherri Shepherd’s new show? What do you think will happen with The Wendy Williams show this fall?

It’s so hard to say goodbye!

ABC's "Queens" - Season One

There can never be too many shows about a group of badass, talented Black and Latinx women living their best lives, but sadly there will be one less this fall. Deadline reports that ABC’s new musical series Queens is canceled after only one season. The 1-hour drama starred Brandy, Naturi Naughton, Eve and Nadine Velazquez as 40-something former rappers. The series follows them as they work through decades of personal struggles and industry beef to reunite their multi-platinum ’90s girl group, the Nasty B**ches.

What seemed to be a recipe for guaranteed success on the level of Empire surprisingly had trouble finding an audience. Even with lots of juicy drama, exciting performances of hot original songs, and appearances from stars like Remy Ma, Jadakiss, and Cam’ron, the series struggled to compete in its time slot on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. The show also seemed to lose momentum mid-season after Eve took a break from the show for her pregnancy.

While the show teased Eve’s potential return, it continued to deliver fresh stories ripped from the headlines about predatory conservatorships, reproductive rights, and confronting sexual abuse in the music industry. After the season 1 finale in February, Brandy discussed her hopes for Queen’s next chapter.

“I know I would love to see more performances, more rapping, and more stage stuff if there is a Season 2. We didn’t really get a chance to do a lot of the stage performances that I wanted to do this year,” she said. “I hope we get to tell more great stories and have a lot more entertainment in terms of the group. Fingers crossed.”

Queens creator, executive producer, and writer Zahir McGhee responded to the sad news on Twitter.

“While the news is disheartening because of the tremendous work hundreds of people put into the show, I’m grateful for what was an incredible journey with so many talented people. I’m proud of the stories we told, the incredible music we made and what our show looked like in front of and behind the camera. To Eve, Brandy, Naturi, Nadine, Taylor (Selé) and Pepi (Sonuga) – thank you,” McGhee wrote.

“I could never have imagined I’d get to work alongside so many current and future legends. Dreamy stuff. Endless gratitude to my partners at ABC for supporting the show until the end. Lastly, MAJOR love to the Queens fans. You are the absolute best and I’m bummed that we don’t get to spend more Tuesday nights together. Hoever, the show lives on forever. The music lives forever. In short, #QueensForever.”

The cancelation is disappointing for such a promising premise, all-star cast and talented crew of creators. Heartbroken fans are keeping hope alive that another network or streamer will give Queens the second life it deserves. Until another platform steps up to continue the story, at least we’ll always have those incredible songs and performances to remember the show by. Check out one of the show’s epic battles between Naomi (Brandy) and Brianna (Eve).

Long live Queens! What was your favorite moment from the show?

Glamour And Style Present 'LA Fashion Week Edition'

It’s been less than a week since Blac Chyna lost her $100 Million lawsuit against the JennerDashians and she could already be on her way back to court sometime soon. No, the influencer didn’t meet her $400K fundraising goal yet to appeal the recent defamation case. According to TMZ, a woman filed accused Chyna of breaking her cell phone and kicking her in the stomach during an argument early Friday morning.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that they are investigating a battery reported by Sequoya King, who claims a drug-fueled Chyna attacked her at an L.A. bar. King said the incident began with the reality star feeling paranoid that other people in the bar were recording her. This is an understandable concern, especially after a weeks-long high-profile court appearance to sue one of the most famous families in the world.

Amateur paparazzi lurking at bars just comes with the job when you’re famous, but apparently, that’s the last place Cyna needed to be. The reality star confronted King, accusing the woman of secretly recording her on a cell phone. King denied the accusation, but Chyna refused to believe her.

King said the heated exchange turned physical when Chyna snatched the phone from her hand and slammed it on the ground. Chyna allegedly charged right at King and then kicked her in the stomach. The alleged victim told TMZ that the attack only stopped when Chyna’s friends dragged her out of the bar and into a car.

If you’re worried about people watching and clocking all your moves in public, a beatdown at the bar won’t get you any privacy anytime soon. The mother of two was already under new scrutiny for a bad temper and abusive tendencies after the defamation case revealed Chyna held a gun to the head of Robert Kardashian, the father of their 5-year-old daughter Dream.

Sequoya spoke out about the incident in her own words on a Facebook post.

“I was assaulted by Blac Chyna! My phone was snatched by her and destroyed and while trying to defend myself, she kicked me in my stomach. I have done everything to resolve the matter peacefully, but at this point she needs to be exposed!” King wrote in the post.

“Stop doing drugs, sis! It’s not a good look. I’ve been disrespected, yet I remain humble. It’s not about the money. I just want a new phone and she has to be held accountable for her actions!”

Yikes! Hold those hands (and feet) until you get in the ring for your upcoming celebrity boxing match, Chyna.

Blac Chyna and her legal team have not yet responded to these allegations.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are continuing to be the new celebrity it couple as they await their first child while dodging stress, drama and infidelity rumors like Neo dodging Matrix bullets. Now, Rocky and Rihanna are showing off their Black love affair through a video for Rocky’s new song “D.M.B.”

According to Variety, the video is described as “an ode to the classic love story, with Rocky and Rihanna depicting true ride-or-die characters in a devoted relationship despite their circumstances.” The big news, of course, is Rihanna making her first appearance in anything music-related since, well, who knows. We been screaming, “Where you at, Rhi Rhi?” for too long to keep track.

But she is all up in this video looking glorious as always, ain’t she?

As for the song, “D.M.B.”, which is produced by Rocky, Skepta, Shlohmo, Hector Delgado, and Kelvin Krash, according to Pitchfork, it depicts a story that isn’t that far off from the couple’s actual story.

From Variety:

The song is a musically straightforward Rocky song, but the video is something else entirely: as it is described, a love story involving Rocky and Rihanna as a pair of urban hustlers, with multiple different settings and special effects that range from Rocky getting arrested and later freed (and greeted ecstatically by Rihanna) to a high-class dinner where Rihanna comically pushes away a waitress who is apparently offering something unacceptable — and finally to what appears to be their wedding, with Rocky in a classy suit and Rihanna in a lovely red dress, albeit in the humble setting of what looks like a project hallway.

Not only is Rihanna out here making a fan-pleasing appearance in Rocky’s video, but she recently attended the Smoker’s Club Festival in Los Angeles to support her man in his first appearance on stage since he was arrested in connection with a November 2021 shooting, according to US Magazine.
