Muni Long and her husband of over nine years, Raysean Hairston, have called it quits. The R&B songstress opened up about her split from the record label exec during an interview on the Real. 92.3’s The Cruz Show on Aug. 29.

“Ruined Me,” a song from Long’s new album Revenge, is drenched in heartbreak as it chronicles a painful breakup and her struggle to reclaim her confidence and determination. When The Cruz Show hosts asked the R&B star about the inspiration behind the emotionally charged track, Long shared that her split from Hairston deeply influenced the breakup anthem.

“I always pull from real experiences because I’m writing from my unique perspective. I can only talk about what I know. But this is the first time I’m putting my real life in it. It’s no secret…I’ve been married for nine years…it just didn’t work out, you know?”

Without revealing too many details about the separation, Long mentioned that the split was largely due to her unwillingness to tolerate “drama.”

“I don’t have time for drama, I don’t have time for nonsense. This is one of the most amazing times in my life, and if you can’t celebrate that with me, I’m so sorry, but I’m going to have to leave you behind. I cannot,” the “Hrs and Hrs” singer continued. “You wake up every day mad, and there’s literally nothing to be upset about. We have a beautiful child, we’re good. We might owe some bills, but everybody has that.”

The 35-year-old singer added;

“I think it takes incredible strength to realize that this was the love of my life at one point—and he probably could be really good for me if he got it together—but I’m not willing to put my life, my passion, and my happiness on hold for you to catch up. Unfortunately, you might get it in a year…but I’m sorry, I’m probably already over it.”

When did Muni Long and Raysean Hairston get married?

According to People, Long and Hairston jumped the broom in 2014 shortly after meeting one another in Los Angeles. It’s unclear when they began dating. Hairston is one of the co-founders of Long’s label, Supergiant Records, a partnership she secured in 2022 with Def Jam Recordings. He has also co-written and produced several of the hitmaker’s songs.

Long is known for keeping her personal life private, so fans were surprised earlier this month when the veteran singer-songwriter introduced her adorable son on stage for the first time during her performance of the hit single “Made for Me” while opening for Chris Brown’s 11:11 tour.

When The Cruz Show hosts asked if she was nervous about putting her “business” about the separation out there to the public, Long said she had nothing to hide.

“Anything that I told you, I’m gon stand on it. I have no shame. And I feel like if there’s anything that you’re asking that’s out of pocket then I’m gonna be like ‘that’s not your business.’”

Well said, Muni!

What do you think about Muni Long’s split from her husband Raysean Hairston?

Footage uploaded to social media shows Lil Baby telling police a gun was in his “nuts” during his recent Las Vegas gun arrest.

Lil Baby found himself in a bewitching predicament last weekend when a Las Vegas nightclub allegedly spotted someone passing him a gun. If you’re not aware guns in clubs are not allowed and unfortunately celebrity treatment can break a lot of rules but not this one. Eventually, Mr. 4PF found himself behind bars charged with illegal gun possession.

Vegas Clubs aren’t an undersized operation they keep an eye on everything, take safety seriously, and can’t bend the rules for anyone. Furthermore, their security is hardcore and trained to handle any situation so guests don’t have to worry.

According to TMZ, footage has surfaced of Lil Baby’s arrest, unlike what we would imagine. Baby is seen loudly telling the police  “Check me good, I got a gun in my nuts”.

What’s left up in the air is if police eventually found a gun or searched him further. The Atlanta Rapper seemed to think his concealed carry permit from Georgia was valid in Las Vegas. Spoiler Alert it isn’t valid outside of Georgia so police booked him on gun charges.

He was held on $5,000 bail which he eventually posted.

The world is still mourning the passing of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who died by suicide in 2022. At just 40 years old, the longtime DJ on Ellen Degeneres’ talk show and So You Think You Can Dance alum left behind his wife, Allison, and their three children,  Weslie, 16, Maddox, 8, and Zaia, 4.

Thank you for our incredible memories and our beautiful life shared together.”

The Dancing With the Stars alum took to social media on Wednesday to post a photo of the shadows of her and a man holding hands. Earlier this month, an assistant principal at a public school in Corsicana, Texas, whose eye was knocked out of its socket while she tried to defuse a situation involving a student, is not only calling on the school district to do better in protecting students and staff, but she’s calling on Republican Gov. Greg Abbott to stop under-funding her district.

KWTX reported that Candra Rogers, the assistant principal a Collins Intermediate School, was airlifted to a hospital on Aug. 15 after sustaining a serious eye injury as a result of the violent confrontation with an unidentified student in an incident that has been referred to the Navarro County District Attorney’s Office and the Juvenile Probation Department, according to  Corsicana ISD.

Rogers explained her recollection of what happened in a statement published by the Corsicana Daily Sun:

On Thursday, August 15th, during lunch, I heard our behavioral teacher call on the radio to administrators for assistance. When I arrived, the teacher and students were outside the classroom. One student was holding his head, having been assaulted by the student remaining in the classroom. I entered, where the student was still irate, and found the room ransacked with overturned furniture. I knew I had to be as calm as possible, and I spoke lowly and slowly so as not to enrage him any further.

He picked up a chair and acted as if he would throw it. He finally did throw it at me, but I caught it mid-air. He picked up another chair to throw at me when another assistant principal entered the room. I used the first chair to block the second. He picked up a third and threw it at the other assistant principal. I used the initial chair to block the one he threw at her.

After blocking the chair thrown at the other assistant principal, he threw a wooden hanger at me, but I could not stop it fast enough. The hanger hit me in my right eye and knocked it out of the socket. I grabbed my face while blood was pouring out of my head and stumbled out the classroom door.

The nurse and 911 were called. I asked for my cell phone to call my husband to come get me, not realizing the extent of the damage. When paramedics arrived, they determined I would need to be airlifted to Parkland Medical Center in Dallas.

I underwent surgery as soon as possible, and doctors were able to reinsert my eye; however, they determined I had been blinded and currently believe that damage to be permanent.

Rogers went on to note that the ” tragedy affected not just my husband, my children and grandchild, my family, and my friends, but it has also negatively affected my school, my district, and my community,” but she didn’t treat the student who attacked her like he’s not a human being. In her lengthy statement, she advocated for the student to be disciplined, but she also included that “overly aggressive students need services to meet their needs.”

“Chapter 37 of our Texas Education Code, which was originally created in 1995 to help protect our marginalized students, with regard to how students are disciplined may need to be reevaluated so that no paraprofessional, teacher, or principal, simply put, no educator should ever be put in this situation,” Rogers said. “I fully understand education laws and the need for students to be educated with their peers. Chapter 37 may need to incorporate changes to address the mental, social, and emotional well-being of these students. As educators, we care about our students and their safety, but we must also care about the safety of our educational staff; our safety is important too. We should never have to fear being in a classroom with an aggressive student. Everyone’s protection is paramount!”

But the real kicker came when Rogers took the time to call out Abbott, who, along with the rest of the Republican party, has proven time and time against that he is no friend to the public school system, particularly, in the state of Texas.

“Lastly, Gov. Greg Abbott holds some accountability in the safety of our students and our staff,” Rogers said. “For years, our schools have suffered unfunded mandates, which have included pay raises. Our basic allotment which funds our day-to-day expenses have not been increased since 2019, even though we have had rising costs on absolutely everything, including new unfunded mandates. This is 2024.

“I’d like to quote a friend who gave me permission to use their words: ‘If our students don’t have what they need to be successful in Texas, this is not simply problematic, I hold that it is immoral,” she continued.

Rogers used the violent attack on her, not to condemn her juvenile attacker, but to address a larger issue. That’s how you do it!

Our schools need to be safe and our children need to be cared for even when they misbehave.

Mahisha Dellinger, the creator of the CURLS hair care brand, is setting the record straight about her appearance on Bravo’s Below Deck Med that’s led to insanely unnecessary threats of violence against her and her children.

In a statement shared exclusively with BOSSIP, she acknowledged that while some moments on the show might have portrayed her as “rude,” “demanding,” and “difficult,” they did not provide an “accurate representation” of her true character and instead perpetuated stereotypes “in ways that disparage Black women.”

What Happened On Below Deck Med?

Bravo fans poured onto social media with complaints about Mahisha’s seemingly “bossy” and “sassy” demeanor after she appeared as a guest on Below Deck Med on Aug. 12.

Upset fans slammed several questionable moments Mahisha had on the show, including one notable instance where she seemingly asked the yacht’s female crew members, Aesha Scott, and Bri Muller, to move an “eyesore” couch from the deck. In another scene, Mahisha appeared to demand that Aesha fetch her cocktail, which was just a short distance away.

In another scene, she was seen stating that caviar served to “taste like a washcloth” and in another moment, Neysla Paltsev, a friend of Dellinger’s was seen alleging that she was given a butter knife for her fish dinner when in actuality it was a fish knife.

She has since apologized for her actions.

“The confusion with the knives was silly. But the way I handled it was not OK. For that, I am truly sorry,” said Paltsev. “Although getting knives confused is not a crime, neither is being rude. But I should not have been [that rude].”

Hit the flip to see what Mahisha told BOSSIP about her appearance on the Bravo show.

Mahisha Dellinger Speaks Out On ‘Below Deck Med’ Moments, Says It Was Edited To Perpetuate Negative Stereotypes

In her statement to BOSSIP, Mahisha affirmed that in real life, she’s far from what Bravo cameras depicted.

Mahisha Delinger

The CURLS founder also revealed that she and her family were targeted online due to complaints from fans.

“I conduct myself, professionally or personally. Unfortunately, this portrayal has led to significant backlash, impacting my reputation, my relationships and my family; who, since the show’s airing, has faced a troubling wave of negative comments, including threats of violence and attacks on my children via social media. This is never acceptable.”

Mahisha suggested that heavy editing played a part in some of her less favorable moments on the reality TV show to paint her in a negative light as a Black woman, which she found “disheartening.”

“As a Black woman in business, I am acutely aware of the systemic challenges and marginalization that often accompany my journey,” the business owner shared. “It is disheartening to see how the media can perpetuate stereotypes and often edit content in ways that disparage Black women. They frequently present sensationalized storylines that do not reflect the full reality of the individuals involved.”

Mahisha added;

“But I know my reality, and despite this situation, I stand by me. I’m proud of who I am, who I’ve become, what I have built, what I’m still building, and the work I have done through my businesses and community initiatives to uplift, support and empower others; particularly, those from marginalized backgrounds. Every experience in our lives is designed to teach us lessons. I have learned that even in challenging moments, especially moments like this that seem almost unbearable, there is opportunity for growth, and I will use these lessons to move forward with integrity and resilience. Thank you to all who have shown support, understanding and grace in this moment. You are all greatly appreciated.”

Mahisha Dellinger Also Took To Instagram To Clear The Air

Mahisha went into further detail about the controversy surrounding her Below Deck Med appearance in an Instagram video posted on Aug.14. The entrepreneur acknowledged that while she had a few “regrettable” moments on camera, she and her friends generally had a fantastic time aboard the yacht. She revealed that during filming, she was struggling with alcohol but began a journey towards sobriety shortly after her appearance.

Mahisha expressed her gratitude to the staff for their hospitality and addressed several controversial moments from the show, reiterating that they were heavily edited and not as they appeared.

She clarified that while she did ask that the couches be moved so they could promo pictures for Bravo she expected the men onboard to move it.

“I would never expect a woman of any size to move a couch,” she said. “We got the picture but it wasn’t intended to have the beautiful ladies move the couch.”

As far as the cocktail situation, the mogul clarified that she was asking her friend Neysla to get her cocktail cheekily, not Aesha.

“I wasn’t speaking to captain Aesha,” said Mahisha. “I can have that with my friend, we know our vibe, with friends you have this different banter. I treat service people really well, I tip service people really well,” she added.

She then dug into the “caviar gate” and said that the Chef’s food was delicious and the taste of the caviar didn’t reflect poorly on him. She noted however that she could have kept the “washcloth” comment to herself.

Ultimately, the entrepreneur wants watches to be mindful that they taped three days of content that was sliced down to only 20 minutes.

“Those moments looked horrible on TV and I get that,” she said, urging people to move on.

Listen to her full statement below.

No matter how you feel about what was shown on Below Deck Med, threats of violence are never okay.

Despite the backlash, Mahisha has much to celebrate, including recently earning her doctorate.

Fans weren’t the only ones who thought Beyoncé was going to pop out for a surprise appearance at this year’s Democratic National Convention.

Veteran producers Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss were in charge of this year’s Democratic National Convention, drawing a crowd of more than 26 million people on Thursday night to watch Vice President Kamala Harris accept the presidential nomination.

While the event was filled with memorable moments and celebrity appearances, there was one big appearance that didn’t pan out–but according to the producers, it was never supposed to.

Kirshner and Weiss spoke to The Hollywood Reporter after the convention about how they pulled it off and, of course, what really happened with that Beyoncé rumor. According to Kirshner, even his staff believe the rumors, but he insisted that Kamala was more than enough on her own.

“We never put out anything about Beyoncé,” Kirshner explained to the outlet. “We denied it every time the media asked us — even though, by the way, people on my staff didn’t believe me. I kept getting texts from news organizations saying, ‘When is Beyoncé coming out?’ But come on, we have the biggest star, the Democratic nominee for president. Why would we overshadow that?”

Weiss added, “This is the internet taking on a life of its own and people taking something as fact — literally to the point that people in my booth are saying, “Is she coming? You can tell me.” And I would say, “I have no knowledge she’s coming.” And they would say, “No knowledge? So there’s something to know!” It was pretty crazy. But she wasn’t coming. In the end even TMZ had to issue an apology.”

The pair also spoke on how they managed to balance the celebrities that did appear onstage versus the politicians, always prioritizing the task at hand.

“We’re smart enough to know that what we’re there to do is get the message out about the Democratic side,” Kirshner said. “The celebrities help us do that for sure, but we have to keep the ultimate goal in mind. We had Pink [on Thursday]. She was amazing. But it was Pink with a beautiful song, not Pink flying in from the rafters. She was singing the right thing at the right time and it fit the moment beautifully.”

As for their favorite political moment at the convention?

“Michelle [Obama] killed it, obviously. And Doug [Emhoff]’s speech. It was so warm and human,” Kirshner concluded.
