A man who accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting him in the ’90s has won his lawsuit.

Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, 51, has been awarded a $100 million default judgment in his lawsuit against the disgraced music mogul.

Lenawee County Circuit Court Judge Anna Marie Anzalone issued the award on Monday following a temporary restraining order being granted to Cardello-Smith in August. According to court records, Combs was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting the now-51-year-old in 1997 at a party in Detroit.

Cardello-Smith allegedly crossed paths with the rapper while he worked as a restaurant employee in the Detroit area. According to Detroit Metro Times, he is a self-taught student of civil and criminal statutes, and is serving an unrelated sentence at the Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility in Muskegon Heights.

TMZ reports that Cardello-Smith alleges that in his lawsuit, he and Diddy were drinking, smoking weed and partying with a bunch of women. Cardello-Smith alleges he was performing oral sex on a woman when he felt Diddy’s left hand on his left buttock before being offered a drink and “passing out” because it was “spiked.”

When he awoke hours later, Cardello-Smith said he saw the mogul having sex with a woman, and Diddy allegedly said to him, “I did this to you too.”

Cardello-Smith Alleges He Was Previously Offered Hush Money

Prison facility information produced by Cardello-Smith revealed that Diddy’s name was logged into the prison’s visitation record, saying the Bad Boy founder offered him $2.3 million to dismiss the lawsuit, which he declined, reports the Times.

In his August hearing, Cardello-Smith revealed to the court how his conversation with Combs allegedly went as they discussed the lawsuit.

Diddy allegedly responded, “You know how we get down” after Cardello-Smith’s threatened to proceed with the lawsuit instead of accepting an out-of-court settlement. He told the judge that he responded by saying, “I disagree with how you get down.”

As for Cardello-Smith’s whopping $100 million judgment, a default judgment is awarded to a plaintiff when the defendant in a civil suit fails to formally respond to legally filed proceedings. Combs did not make an appearance at the Sept. 9 virtual hearing, which led to the default judgment. His judgment could be the largest awarded to a non-attorney and a currently incarcerated inmate in history.

Diddy’s Attorney Says He Has “Never Heard” Of Cardello-Smith

Marc Agnifilo, Combs’s attorney, provided a statement to Metro Times following the news of a default judgment, vehemently denying Cardello-Smith’s claims and even going as far as saying Diddy has never heard of him.

“This man is a convicted felon and sexual predator, who has been sentenced on 14 counts of sexual assault and kidnapping over the last 26 years,” the statement reads. “His resume now includes committing a fraud on the court from prison, as Mr. Combs has never heard of him let alone been served with any lawsuit. Mr. Combs looks forward to having this judgment swiftly dismissed.”

Tyreek Hill’s harrowing incident with Miami-Dade police officers Sunday morning is still the talk of the NFL and the speedy baller known as “Cheetah” continues to speak out about how he was treated and how he’s processing what happened.

Hill appeared on CNN with Kaitlan Collins to explain how “shell shocked” he is and how embarrassed he is about being treated like he’s a violent criminal.

Hill also spoke to NBC News saying that the fear of being shot or killed was definitely on his mind when he was accosted by the officers in question.

“If I wasn’t Tyreek Hill, Lord knows, I probably would have been, like, worst-case scenario, I would have been shot or would have been locked up” and “put behind bars, you know, for a simple speeding ticket,” Hill told NBC News.

Miami-Dade Police Department released the body camera video from the scene presumably, to sway public opinion as opposed to being transparent in good faith. However, the video does nothing to absolve the officers of their overly aggressive behavior. Ironically, what one of the officers says in the video is almost as bad as what they did by dragging Hill out of his vehicle unnecessarily.

“We’re all dark”? “Don’t play like that’s special”?? Drake?!?!

How will Rasheeda react when Jasmine exposes Kirk face to face?

Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash 2024

Source: Prince Williams / Getty

Last week the internet was ablaze over Rasheeda letting Kirk make a fool with her after Jasmine shared text messages that allegedly proved he had been trying to get back into bed with her. The last episode, Karlie Redd was the bearer of the bad news but we’ve got an exclusive clip from Tuesday’s brand-new episode where Jasmine sits down with Kirk and Rasheeda yet again, but this time she’s ready to read Rasheeda her receipts about how badly Kirk has been acting up.

Did you catch how Kirk was stuttering? We could tell Rasheeda was ticked off by how hard that leg was bouncing but it seemed like Jasmine was far from finished explaining the truth that Kirk has been hiding.

Audiences have been a bit baffled about whether or not this scandal is just for a reality tv storyline– especially since Jasmine recently posted a meal prepared by the Frosts. Considering this was probably filmed months ago, isn’t it possible that the three have just worked out their issues since filming? What do you think. We know one thing, we’re definitely tuning in to see what all Jasmine has to say!

An all-new episode of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta airs Tuesday night at 8pm EST on MTV.

In a rare interview with GQ, Beyoncé opens up about her life, career, SirDavis and so much more. She also addressed not releasing visuals for Renaissance and Cowboy Carter saying that “the music is enough.”

Every member of the Bey Hive knows Beyoncé interviews are few and far between, so when news broke that she was the cover star for GQ’s October issue, the internet exploded.

The superstar looks absolutely stunning in her cover shoot for the magazine, sporting platinum blonde locks in multiple different styles. The cover sees Bey showing off her curves, posing in a form-fitting black dress with a glass of her new SirDavis whisky in her hand.

Another photo from the shoot mimics the birthday pictures she posted to Instagram recently, wearing a curly updo with a cigar hanging out of her mouth.

Beyond the flicks, Beyoncé also opened up a lot about her recent business ventures in the pages of the mag. She, of course, spoke about SirDavis, revealing why she wanted to get into the business of alcohol and why she chose whisky, in particular.

“I’ll never forget the first day I had whiskey,” Bey began. “It spoke to me nice. I remember thinking, Why have I never had this before? It was strong and warm, just the right amount of challenge. I loved the process, the ritual of it. Whiskey isn’t something you just shoot down. It’s a commitment. You gotta have patience. I like that. Then I got into vintage Japanese whiskey and started doing tastings. It opened up a whole new world.”

She continued, “I love everything about whiskey. The color, the smell, the way it dances in the glass.… And I love the stories that come with it. Every bottle has a history. I also like introducing whiskey to people who don’t know they love it yet. I think a lot more women would love it if they tasted it, and if they were really spoken to by the whiskey world. Whiskey isn’t just for old men in smoky bars; it’s for anyone who appreciates depth, complexity, and a bit of mystery.”

The star also spoke on her decision to move away from visuals, not dropping any music videos to accompany her last two albums.

“I thought it was important that during a time where all we see is visuals, that the world can focus on the voice,” she explained. “The music is so rich in history and instrumentation. It takes months to digest, research, and understand. The music needed space to breathe on its own. Sometimes a visual can be a distraction from the quality of the voice and the music. The years of hard work and detail put into an album that takes over four years!”

Beyoncé insisted, “The music is enough. The fans from all over the world became the visual. We all got the visual on tour. We then got more visuals from my film.”

And for any fans worried about all of Bey’s other businesses distracting from the music, she addressed that, too.

“I am a musician first. It has always been my priority,” she insisted. “I didn’t get into anything that could take away from my artistry until I felt I was solidified as a master at my first love, music.”

Beyoncé continued, “When I started my hair care brand, Cécred, I wanted it to be recognized for what it does for real people and their hair. When it launched, I made a conscious decision not to appear in the ads. The brand’s first impression needed to stand on its own merit, not be swayed by my influence. I’ve been using these products for years, so I know firsthand how magical they are.”

Even though she’s one of the most decorated artists of our generation, Beyoncé is still no stranger to getting snubbed.

The 2024 Country Music Association Awards nominations were announced on Monday, September 9. Following Cowboy Carter’s insane success this year, a lot of fans expected to see Beyoncé nominated in at least one category at the awards show–but, sadly, the singer was noticeably absent from every category.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Beyoncé qualified for CMA categories like single of the year, song of the year, album of the year, female vocalist of the year, music event of the year and even qualified for entertainer of the year, “though that award is typically reserved for country acts who have built a strong presence in the genre for years.”

The CMAs are voted on by members of the Country Music Association, which includes artists, executives, songwriters, musicians, publicists, touring personnel and other industry professionals

Ironically enough, not being welcomed at the 2016 CMAs is a huge reason Bey decided to venture into country music in the first place.

When announcing Cowboy Carter, the star revealed that her performance of “Daddy Lessons” with The Chicks that year is what made her do “a deeper dive into the history of Country music.”

“This album has been over five years in the making,” Bey wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption on March 19. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

She continued, “The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work.”

Now that she’s been snubbed at this year’s CMA Awards, it’s pretty clear that a lot of folks in the world of country music still aren’t welcoming Beyoncé into the genre.

Shaboozey–who worked with Bey on Cowboy Carter and is featured on both “SPAGHETTII” and “SWEET ★ HONEY ★ BUCKIIN’”–made sure to thank the singer for “opening a door” for Black artists in country music. He was nominated for both New Artist and Single of The Year for “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” marking his first nominations at the awards show.

“That goes without saying. Thank you @Beyonce for opening a door for us, starting a conversation, and giving us one of the most innovative country albums of all time,” he tweeted.

Beyoncé has yet to say anything about the snub, but the Bey Hive has made it known that the critical acclaim/sales and the lack of nominations just don’t match up.

A Michigan judge is making national news after she was recorded making defamatory remarks about Black people and using homophobic language.

Judge Kathleen Ryan, who has served as Oakland County’s Chief Probate Pro Tem Judge for over 13 years, was removed from her courtroom after being exposed by a court administrator who was fed up with her unethical actions and vowed to put a stop to it.

The shocking news came to light when Edward Hutton, the Oakland County Probate Court Administrator, stepped forward with recordings that captured Ryan’s offensive and hateful language. According to AP, Hutton, who has overseen court operations for years, revealed he had been documenting Ryan’s behavior after enduring years of harassment.

Now, Judge Ryan’s disgraceful conduct has not only been exposed, but it has also led to her swift removal from the bench—yet not before leaving a trail of damage during her tenure.

The extent of Judge Ryan’s remarks is as unsettling as it is disappointing. In one recording, Ryan is heard degrading Black Americans, saying,

“If you’re an American Black person then you’re a f*** lazy piece of s***.”

Ryan’s attempts to justify her views only deepened the offense, claiming,

“I’m not systemically racist – I’m a new racist.”

A. New. Racist…The audacity! The ugliness! The racism! Oh, my! Why was this Karen put in charge?

It’s painful to imagine that someone in such a position of authority—who presides over life-altering decisions for families—could harbor and express such vile sentiments. This is America and our justice system in a nutshell.

It didn’t stop there, however, in addition to her racist comments, Ryan reportedly directed homophobic slurs toward elected officials, referring to one as “a little f****t.”

As if these remarks weren’t appalling enough, Hutton alleged that Ryan often dragged him into inappropriate conversations about her sexual encounters, sharing explicit details during work-related calls.

Like ew! GET OFF THE BENCH!?

Edward Hutton Speaks Out

AP reports that for years, Edward Hutton, the court administrator responsible for overseeing the operations of one of Michigan’s largest probate courts, found himself on the receiving end of Ryan’s hate-filled tirades. As someone who wasn’t in an elected position, Hutton felt powerless to challenge the judge’s behavior.

According to WXYZ Detroit, he said he tolerated it for far too long, fearing for his job and well-being.

“She’s made it a living hell in the past six years,” Hutton confessed. “It’s cost me relationships. I think it’s affected my health. Can’t sleep.”

Hutton’s words reflect a man who felt trapped, unable to speak out against the inappropriate comments of someone in power.

“It’s such a David and Goliath situation,” he explained. “I didn’t want to lose my job and I didn’t want to be in her crosshairs.”

His reluctance to report the harassment sooner speaks to the difficult dynamic of standing up to a superior who holds so much authority.

A Push for Justice: Ryan’s Removal

In May 2024, Hutton filed a sexual harassment complaint with Chief Judge Linda Hallmark, detailing Ryan’s behavior. Despite the complaint, no action was taken for months. With no response, Hutton’s next move was to send the incriminating recordings to the Michigan Supreme Court. WXYZ Detroit states it was sent to Oakland County Executive David Coulter, and other officials on August 22, 2024.

Just days later, on August 27, Ryan was removed from her docket. WXYZ Detroit reports Coulter’s statement reflected the gravity of the situation: “The alleged conduct and abhorrent comments made by Judge Ryan merited her removal from the Probate Court docket pending further investigation.”

However, for many, this response came too late, after years of unchecked misconduct.

The Fallout And Call For Reform

The public’s anger is justified. Ryan’s remarks are not just offensive—they are a betrayal of the justice system and the trust the public places in judges.

Of course, some “real evidence” did the trick since earlier reports went overlooked.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel emphasized the need for reform.

“This case dramatically underscores the need for critical guardianship reform now,” she told WXYZ investigators.

Judges must represent fairness, integrity, and impartiality—qualities Ryan utterly disregarded in her hateful rants.

What’s Next for Judge Ryan?

Though Ryan’s attorneys claim she will fight the allegations and work to clear her name, the damage is done. Some supporters suggest her comments are out of character, but after her “New Racist” remark, it’s hard to see how the public’s trust in her can be restored when this is who the judge is claiming she’s becoming.

Power and responsibility should never go unchecked. Ryan’s removal is only the beginning of a long-overdue reckoning for behavior that has no place in the justice system. The people of Oakland County deserve better, and it’s time for real accountability Oh, and also; BYE FELICIA!

A little over a year after the two were spotted grabbing sushi, Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods are returning to the public eye as besties again. The pair is officially bringing their friendship out of the dark shadows as they move on from an infamous 2019 scandal.

As BOSSIP previously reported, Khloe Kardashian‘s pathological cheater baby daddy, Trystin’ Thompson, was revealed to have kissed Woods, much to her dismay at a party.

The scandal broke in early 2019, immediately polarizing Kardashians/Jenners and Woods fans, and Jenner and Woods’ friendship was halted while Woods was dragged through the mud.

Fans later rallied around the influencer after she cleared her name on Red Table Talk. Ater denying initial reports of sleeping with Thompson and being seen “sitting on his lap, the star told Jada Pinkett Smith what really went down.

“On the way out, he did kiss me,” said Woods adding that there was “no passion, no nothing … he just kissed me.”

“It was like a kiss on the lips, but no tongue kiss, no making out,” she said. “Nothing. But I don’t think that he’s wrong either, because I allowed myself to be in that position. And when alcohol’s involved, people make dumb moves or people get caught up in the moment.”

“I didn’t know how to feel,” she added. “I was like, ‘That didn’t just happen.’ I was leaving already so I walked out immediately after. I was in shock. I was like, ‘Hmm, let me just pretend like that didn’t happen.’”

Jordyn Woods’ Kardashian-Jenner free career has flourished and four years later, she and Kylie were spotted at a restaurant together, confirming they were still in communication.

Since the spotting, the two have remained lowkey with their healed friendship but now they’re cementing things on social media.

Over the weekend, Jenner and Woods lip-synced along to a viral sound of Kim Kardashians’ promotion of The Kardashians reality TV show on TikTok with help from Jenner’s friend, Stassie Karanikolaou.

“Okay guys, we’re back,” Jenner mouthed in the video.

Woods then followed up with, “Did you miss us?”

“‘Cause we missed you,” Karanikolaou added.

On Jordyn Woods’ TikTok account, she also posted a video of the trio lip-synching to Ariana Grande‘s “34+35.”

Though the public was sure these two would never speak again, Jenner previously revealed that she never wanted to write Woods off completely and said they always stayed in contact.

“Jordyn and I, we always stayed in touch throughout the years and we would meet up at my house and catch up and just talk through everything,” she told actress Jennifer Lawrence for Interview Magazine in 2023.

“We never fully cut each other off, and one day, naturally, we were like, we want to get sushi and we don’t want to hide anymore.”

She continued,

“There’s a learning lesson in everything, and I think that in a weird way, everything happens how it’s supposed to happen. We were so attached at the hip that we needed space to grow into the people that we were supposed to be. I needed that independence and that confidence because she was like my security blanket for so long.”

It is unclear what Woods’ relationship is with Kylie’s sisters, but some fans are excited to see the BFFs back together.

Others however are warning Woods to keep one eye open.

What do YOU think about these being back to besties after the 2019 Tristan Thompson scandal?

Coincidentally, the Dallas Cowboys made Dak Prescott the highest-paid player in NFL history with a 4-year, $240 million contract extension ahead of the Doc’s debut later this month.

The deal includes $231 million guaranteed–the most in league history.

Whew, Dak got moneyyy!

“I know that these numbers are beyond anything that I could have ever imagined,” said famed Cowboys owner Jerry Jones of the massive amount of guaranteed money.

Also worth noting is the $60 million average annual value of Prescott’s contract AND $80 million signing bonus raising the bar as the highest in NFL history.

“This was the thing to do for what we’re here for–and that is to win a championship,” Jones continued. “I know our fans know that. I’m surprised that anyone would think that anything short of — they might disagree with the decision — but anything short of a commitment is just not the case with me.

“I gave everything I ever had or hoped to have to get a chance to be a part of the Cowboys. And it’s beyond my fondest dreams where we stand today.”

Tyre Nichols was beaten, abused, and essentially left to die at the hands of five officers from the Memphis Police Department who the state of Tennessee has subsequently charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct, and official oppression. Moreover, a federal grand jury indicted the five on charges such as deprivation of rights, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice.

According to AP, the jury selection for the federal trial against three of those “men”; Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, and Justin Smith, is set to begin today as they have all pleaded not guilty to the abovementioned charges. Desmond Mills Jr. and Emmitt Martin III both pleaded guilty as part of their plea agreement.

200 people are expected to comprise the jury pool and the trial is expected to last upwards of one month. It goes without saying that media attention on the proceedings will be intense and BOSSIP will certainly be locked into the coverage.

NPR reports that Nichols’ parents RowVaughn and Rodney Wells plan to be present and accounted for every day during this process.

“You’re the mother. You want to make sure that what they’re saying is correct and you want to make sure that everything is going accordingly,” says RowVaughn Wells. “So you have to sit there and listen, even though you don’t want to.”

The demographic breakdown of those chosen to sit on the jury will be a key piece of news that BOSSIP will be keeping a close eye on throughout the week.

Angela Bassett received her first Emmy Award on Sept. 7 after a storied career and nine nominations.

Angela Bassett celebrates win at 76th Creative Arts Emmy Awards - Day 1 - Press Room

The queen of all things received her trophy at the annual Creative Arts Emmys ceremony for her work narrating the National Geographic series Queens. She took home the “Best Narrator” honors, marking her very first win in over 30 years.

“It feels good; really, really good,” she said in her acceptance speech. “Thank you to National Geographic, Wild Star Film, and all the directors — all women — who brought this incredible story, this incredible docuseries centered on the ferocious and magnificent things in the animal kingdom. I couldn’t be more thrilled and more grateful.”

The seven-part series is all about the matriarchies that exist throughout the animal kingdom and featured an all-female production team, which Bassett said was “one of the big draws and highlights” of the project she nearly turned down.

“It was summertime. It was hiatus [for 9-1-1]. It had been a long season. I was looking forward to going on vacation, spending time with the family, and downtime from work because it’s a continuous roller coaster,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “But they came back around and sent me the sizzle reel and I said, ‘OK, let me put my full attention on this for a moment and see what the project is exactly.’ Once I did that, it didn’t pass me by.”

In response to the award being her first, our ever-gracious monarch evoked gratitude for the moment and all the creatives who worked on the project.

“We don’t work for these, but we receive them for all the hard work that we do,” she said after her win. “Of course, it’s not work that you do alone, even though it’s a narration, but there’s a whole team that pursued me and believed in me, fought for me, and worked with me to tell this amazing story of females in the wild kingdom, led by an all-female-led production team team, a first in wildlife documentary filmmaking. So that was pretty inspiring to me in and of itself.”

Dame Dash is owning his flaws after he accidentally revealed that he is missing several front teeth. Dash’s teeth became a focal point after his grills fell out while he was on Instagram Live. However, the businessman is not dismayed as he later discusses the mishap in a separate IG live session.

Stoop Talk With Dame Dash

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty

We may have 50 Cent to thank for this viral moment! On September 4, Dash took to Instagram Live to challenge the “Many Men” rapper to a “CEO war.” This came after 50 Cent joined the Million Dollaz Worth of Game and stated that Dash was broke.

In response to the G-Unit rapper, Dash began pitting his streaming service, American Nu Network, against 50’s Action Network.

“I wanna see how real it is,” he stated. “I wanna see your television network. I wanna see you direct a movie. I wanna see your clothing line. I wanna see if you the real deal.”

As he was about to take a sip of his drink, Dash’s teeth grills shockingly fell out of his mouth. To avoid further embarrassment, Dash turned the camera and adjusted his teeth. Still, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder didn’t find the moment overly embarrassing as he later posted the clip, poking fun at himself.

In the caption, he wrote, “My diamond grills popped out because that’s what happens when you’re broke.”

While most people would find this moment to be super awkward, Dame Dash is not concerned. A few days after the mishap, he joined Instagram Live again to explain. He was sure to clarify that he does not wear dentures.

“First of all, s**t is not dentures. These are my grills,” he asserted. “What happened was I have to go get implants put in ’cause I have implants. And I got them 20 years ago, and every 20 years, you gotta switch them out. So I have to do surgery—pause—oral.”

In a rather bold move, Dash then removed his grills so everyone could get a better look at his missing front teeth. He also stated that he thought it was pretty funny.

“I thought it was hilarious,” he stated.

To add more hilarity to the situation, when filmmaker Bryan Barber later joined the live session, Dash referred to Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us.”

“Sometimes you gotta pop out on n*****.”

Dash also used the opportunity to promote his streaming network further. He also stated that he was glad the moment led to 50 Cent responding to him.
