Blockbuster Video pop-up for Deadpool 2

The last Blockbuster standing became somewhat of an unexpected tourist attraction over the past couple of years — and now it’s available for rent for a select few dates.

Located in Bend, Oregon, the store is still operational, but to keep it open the managers have had to get creative. Now, ’90s lovers can spend the night in the’90s-themed Airbnb.

“Since 2004, store manager (and would-be superhost), Sandi Harding, has run the operation in the spirit of the time when Blockbuster stores and their laminated rental cards and late fees were part of the cultural vernacular, when everyone was encouraged to “Make it a Blockbuster night! This limited overnight experience is part thank you to residents of Deschutes County for keeping the last Blockbuster alive and kicking — and a way to let people outside central Oregon know it’s there and needs support to keep things humming like 1994,” CNN states.

So what can you expect if you rent the spot out for the night, exactly? Welp, you’re going to be completely transported back into the early ’90s, of course.

“The store is going full ’90s with this overnight — including creating a living room within the store, with decor from the decade, a gigantic era-appropriate television, a VCR and all the store’s VHS tapes to choose from to complete the mise en scene,” CNN adds.

“With everybody being stuck at home and re-experiencing family time together, we thought it would be fun to enjoy some family time in a throwback ’90s environment,” Harding says, with the site adding “The rental allows up to four people, and encourages groups to be from the same household to easily adhere to Airbnb, CDC and local authority Covid-19 protocols and guidelines. The space is available for three individual, one-night reservations on September 18, 19 and 20; booking is open on August 17.”

It seems only Deschutes County residents can rent the space (sorry friends), but click here for pics of what the rest of us are missing out on.

Sens. Kamala Harris And Cory Booker Join Candidate Joe Biden At Michigan Campaign Rally On Eve Of Primary

Welp. The wait is over. Kamala Harris will be alongside Joe Biden as his Vice Presidential running mate. The first African-American woman ever chosen for the big ticket.

For months now, Black women have been campaigning for Biden to pick a Black woman as his VP, their wishes have been granted.

Kamala Harris was widely panned as a presidential candidate largely because of her history as a prosecutor. The “Kamala is a cop” mantra was one of the most trending topics at almost each debate. To contrast, many people have been fans of the senator because of the way she handles witnesses during senate trials. In some ways, her professional past will make her one of the strongest foes that the Trump/Pence campaign has had to reckon with. Hell, she stabbed Joe Biden with a rusty shiv at the now-infamous debate where she challenged him on the issue of bussing.

Both Senator Harris’ daughter and sister are thrilled at the news.

And the tweeters, well, the tweeters are a-tweetin’.

What say you? Are you happy? Mad? Indifferent? Who did you want Biden to choose?

Morgan Cooper’s reimagining of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air impressed Will Smith so much that the two are teaming up on a reboot. It’s been in the works for over a year, but now it’s officially official and details are beginning to surface.

Cooper will reportedly cowrite the Bel-Air script, in addition to directing, and being credited as an executive producer, with original series producers Smith, Quincy Jones, Benny Medina as well as creators Andy & Susan Borowitz returning as executive producers, The Hollywood Reporter states. Additionally The Wire‘s Chris Collins will serve as showrunner, executive producer, and cowriter alongside Cooper.

From THR:

“The drama series is currently being shopped to streamers and is a co-production between Smith’s Westbrook Studios and original producers Universal TV. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Peacock, Netflix and HBO Max are among the streamers who are bidding on the potential series. HBO Max is the current streaming home for the original series.”

In case you missed it, Morgan Cooper’s dramatic reimagining is just below:

The upcoming series, inspired by the fan-made trailer “is described as an hourlong dramatic retelling of the beloved ’90s sitcom that leans into the original premise of Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air,” THR reports, adding “With a reimagined vision, Bel-Air will dive deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions and biases of what it means to be a Black man in America today, while still delivering the swagger and fun nods to the original show.”

Keyshia Cole dropped a great exclusive while in conversation with Fat Joe on Instagram live regarding her relationship with Tupac.

According to Cole, she was with Tupac in Las Vegas on the day he was shot dead at 16-years-old. Keyshia says before his tragic death, Tupac was telling her that he was about to leave Death Row to sign with Quincy Jones, and asking her to join him.

“I actually did know [Tupac.] He wanted to sign me to Quincy [Jones] when he was with Kidada, Quincy’s daughter, and he was gonna leave Death Row and go to sign with Quincy. He wanted me to go over there because he said that Death Row was not the place for kids.”

Keyshia continues:

“[I was] 15. He died when I was 16. Right when my birthday was coming around, I just remember getting earrings in the mail from Death Row Records but Suge, of course, was already in jail,” said Keyshia Cole. “My mom literally came and got us from Suge’s house because everybody got shot that night. My brother and [Pac] used to rap together in The Outlawz. We all drove to Vegas from LA. Pac was in the car with Kidada. Suge was in they car. My brother was in they car. We was in our car. We were kids though. He just didn’t like that, you know what I mean? It was just, like, a lot of drama around that time.”

Who knew??? Hit play to hear it.

Romir Talley was killed on December 22, 2019 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania by officers from the Wilkinsburg Police Department.

For those who are unaware, Romir was killed in a case of “mistaken identity“. Officers were looking for a man who had reportedly had pulled a gun on a 911 caller and Romir “fit the description”. When he was asked to stop, Romir ran into an alley. Let the cops tell it, a shot was fired at them during the pursuit. In retaliation, one of those officers, the recently-identified Robert Gowans, put seven bullets into Romir Talley.

According to CBS Pittsburgh, the family’s lawyer, Paul Jubas, says that there is both new evidence and a corroborating witness who will attest to a significantly different story than the one cooked up by Gowans and the bacon boys.

“The new evidence is that there is a witness that contradicts the story told by officer Robert Gowans,” said Jubas. “At this point, officer Gowans was the only testimony, only evidence with regards to what happened that night.”

Jubas, along with several local activists, stood in front of the county building yesterday demanding that Gowans be fired from the department, charged with criminal homicide, transparency at trail, and for Wilkinsburg P.D. to be disbanded.

Incredibly talented actor and star of upcoming movie-of-the-moment “Judas & The Black Messiah” doesn’t appear to be OK based on a series of alarming posts on his now comment-restricted Instagram page.

We don’t have any details but he’s seemingly going through a serious episode without any support that we can see in his posts.

In one post, he said that he likes to be by himself because he can harm himself and no one can stop him or fake care. In another, he said no one is trustworthy and appears to drink a substance in his last post.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on the troubling situation and pray someone reaches him soon.
